I've had some serious bad luck with hair salons in the past few years with both cut and colour, so I've been doing my own colour at home. The results have been ok but I really wanted my hair to look great - not just "ok". So, I've been gathering up the nerve to go back to a professional, hoping to achieve my desired results. I went to see Michelle at Redemption Salon who was very highly recommended for highlights/lowlights and I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive, given my last few visits at other salons. I showed Michelle a photo of the results I was hoping for, and much to my delight, she did an amazing job. I left the salon feeling so great about my new hair that I didn't even mind the hour drive home from Abbotsford. A huge thank you to Michelle for doing such a great job! This is a review for nails and waxing only! I have not had my hair done here. I am very upset with how my nails look in advance of my Honeymoon - I will probably have to go elsewhere tomorrow to have them fixed/re-done. I have two fingers that were filed to the point where the skin is cut and they HURT! Plus the gel nails look like a hot mess (bubbles, messy, un-filed, not done all the way up to the cuticle). Waxing was a whole other nightmare. I wanted a simple bikini wax and left bleeding with a bruise and wax left down there. I shouldn't have to go home and finish your job that I had to pay you for. Plus the room was not organized or prepared, or big enough. They want you to take your pants off but then you are laying there on the bed with nothing to cover you when they come in?? Just ok but I have never returned ‍ I guess that says something. I wasn't happy with my layers, which didn't look as soft as I was hoping. The hair dresser seemed confident but we may have just had different styles. I also found their price list a bit higher than I expected. I would be open to trying again if this changed, but I have definitely found better hair cuts and don't mind leaving mission for a good cut read more

I received a terrible haircut/color from this salon and was treated really poorly by the staff I will never go back again.

Visited this hair salon using a Groupon for a haircut, deep conditioning treatment, and full head of foil highlights. When calling to book the appointment, I tried to book for a Saturday. This was fine, and there were plenty of Saturday time slots available to choose from until I mentioned I had a Groupon. Then (after some side discussion with another staff member at the salon) I was told that they do not accept Groupons on Saturdays (nowhere did it say this in the fine print when the Groupon was purchased). Now, the only time I could come was Sunday morning. I arrive on Sunday, and my hairstylist is a brand new employee. Halfway through the appointment, I realize she doesn't even know what services she is supposed to be providing me for the Groupon. (It was supposed to have included a deep conditioning treatment with a $20 value). I was also then informed that if I wanted toner on my highlights there would be an additional $20 charge. Most would assume that a Groupon for highlights would include all steps/processes needed to create the highlights, but this was not the case. The Groupon had advertised that your service would be provided by an experienced, professional hairstylist. My stylist was a new hairstyle school graduate and a brand new employee to the salon. When visiting the salon's website, they have all their stylists listed under the "Our Team" section of the website, but my stylist was not listed. My feeling is that they use the Groupon to get new customers in the door (obviously), but don't want to waste their more highly valued regular stylists on these customers, nor do they want to give them "prime" appointment times (even when they are available!) Went here after moving to Abbotsford. Good colour but did not style, or even dry my hair. Sat in my car and tried to dry myself. Very expensive for no style or even to dry. $187.00. read more

Let's start with the fact I had a bad cut to start.....well I went to Redemption with no high expectations "since I alread had a bad cut" hoping they could fix it. I had the lovely Doug who is very sweet . However, my hair was to much of a challenge for him...(very junior)....not happy with my results I went back a week later so the Manager Raya could give me a shorter pixie cut...again sweet...she said what I wanted to hear. "No problem we can give you an awesome cut." (Paid again) Needless to say it was far from awesome...she had another client waiting...so my time was up. I called back less than a week later to ask if she could thin it more....but, no time...maybe someone else could help...wow. uneven...thick...nothing like the picture we looked ...I would not recommend the 2 stylist I had...maybe more experience will make them better. Bad management skills for sure...but, sweet. If you want nice, sweet. That's the place....if you want a great accurate cut...No thanks read more

I used a coupon for highlights and cut from Groupon, was charged an extra 41.10 for toner which she said was so it doesn't look brassy, have never been charged extra for toner before, so beware of this salon, when you think you are getting a fair deal they tack on a extra 41.10, there were no customers in the place which should of been my first clue, I hate my haircut and highlights and will not be going back there even if it was for free. I guess there's a reason why you can get in for a 3 1/2 hour hair appointment anytime (unlike other salons where they have weeks before you can get in for that) and why when you go in there is no one but you getting your hair done...people warned me and I didn't listen. (Also this is Mission, not a high end salon in town though they charge the same) I'm sure the girls themselves are all great, and the girl who did my hair, actually did a great job of picking color and doing the streaks in my hair, however, even though I had joked that nobody was ever going to see a gray hair in my head even when I'm 90, she somehow thought I was leaving the gray in my hair to grow out.?? Apparently other people "do it all the time"...paying over $200 for a full head foil NOT to cover their grey. It was especially upsetting as I was getting my hair done for a special weekend. So the ends of my hair are beautiful, but my grey roots show all over my head. Now, okay, misunderstandings happen all the time...and I totally get that (far-fetched as the above story sounds) but to be clear the ONE STAR rating is for the manager's reaction NOT the girls. I was told when I called that they "wanted to make me happy" but the manager said I hadn't paid for the roots to be done so they would do it but it would cost me for the extra??? Seriously, WTH? I kept getting blamed for not making myself clear. Then she tried to say that two of her girls had told her that they explained to me that the blond would not cover the gray, which was an out and out lie. We never ever discussed NOT doing the gray, or doing the gray. It was an assumption on my part that a full head of foils got that done (like every other salon I've ever gone to, and at 60 this is not my first rodeo). She then said it was somehow my fault as I "rushed out" of the salon, not getting my hair cut like originally planned. (Now you have to understand that it was snowing like a devil outside and the girls in the salon kept talking about how bad it was, including the owner, and they were cancelling the afternoon appts they had. So I said to the girl, because it was so bad out, not to bother with my haircut and dry so they could close up, and that I would come in the following week for that) After all, it wasn't their fault it was getting so bad out. I gave her an additional $20.00 as a tip even though we didn't finish...It was only after I was on my way home I looked in the mirror and saw all the grey hair in my head as I was outside then and it showed. So when the manager tried to say it was my fault again as I "rushed" out, how does that work? The work on the coloring was already done, I only took my haircut out of the equation. A mistake happened, however it happened, but it's the Customer Service afterwards that was so attrocious. The woman was on a mission simply to prove that it was MY fault and I was made to feel like somehow I was expecting something for nothing. For over $200 I thought I more than paid for what I should have gotten. When I said perhaps the girls should learn to ask important questions like that before they start, it was amazing how she got all affronted and said "Don't you dare "slam" my girls?? I wasn't slamming them at all. Issues like that belong to the manager to make sure they remember to do that in the future so other people don't end up in my position. Any other salon, would have just said something like "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, please come back in and we will correct the mistake"...They would then have had a happy customer, paying out $220 every 7-8 weeks till she was in her 90's...instead they have a woman who will tell everyone she can of her experience...unbelievable.. I just want to also make sure everyone understands this is NOT reflected on any of the stylists AT ALL, you just have to hope and pray you don't have a "misunderstanding" on what you wanted and then have to deal with the owner/manager... read more

First time to Redemption Salon and went on Groupon. Had cut and full head of foils. Charged me and extra 41.00 for toner. Not happy with highlights or cut. Will not be going back to this salon. Had hoped to find a regular salon but this experience rules out Redemption. read more

Awful management. Instead of trying to fix the problem they put the blame on you. I was not pleased with my experience.
