Nice place. Pretty view of the salmon river to my front and Sawtooths on my right (from the room we stayed in). Mini-kitchen, big shared deck, and gas grill to share. The shower was small and creeky. The room was eclectic. The things in the room didn't really "match" (silverware, classes, etc.) but does that really matter? The room seemed sound, was clean, and the area is beautiful! You don't go to Stanley to stay in your room! Owners are very pleasant and full of suggestions. I would totally go back for the price ($90 a night). A note: The places in Lower Stanley will have a more direct view of the sawtooths, but we were RIGHT on the river at the Riverside. read more

Our first impression of Redfish Riverside Inn was that we were scheduled to be arriving a few minutes after the office was supposed to close. Addi, the front desk worker, was so sweet to wait those few minutes for us to arrive to welcome us and direct us to our room. Our room was BEYOND our expectations. Beautiful and very comfortable. This Inn has rooms with direct access to a deck that looks directly over the beautiful Salmon River. We loved sitting on the deck drinking coffee, listening to the flow of the river and watching the wildlife. The rooms are clean and large with kitchenettes for those who want to make a quick meal before venturing out to snowshoe, snowmobiling or hiking. We also enjoyed the location as it was near the Mountain Village Resort where they serve prime rib on Thursday and Friday nights. We were very happy with our stay and the supporting staff. We absolutely loved this place. The location is incredible. It's a bit separate from the rest of Stanley (which is a short 3 min drive down the road), and is right on the Salmon River. There is no development across the river, so when you look out from the patio across the river, you just see the ranch, cows, and hills. You feel like you are back in time looking at how the river used to be. The patio overlooking the rushing river is incredible. On our first night there we went out at night it was pitch black except for the stars and the faint light of a ranch down the river. The kitchenette was convenient - stove, fridge, microwave, dishes - so you can cook at home if you want. Everything in the room is clean and as expected. The only downside is it's a shared deck, so depending on who your neighbors are the experience can vary. One night we had noisy kids next door, and another night a neighbor left their outside porch light on all night which made it hard to see the stars from the deck. But for the most part the other guests are there to enjoy the views as well, and it is very pleasant. Highly recommend! read more

Coming into Stanley, Idaho was exciting and beautiful. Then we arrived at our accommodation at the Redfish River Inn. We were charmed from the start. Very comfortable beds, soft towels, decent shower, really good kitchenette, and porch that we could look out on the bustle of superhuman outdoors-types getting ready for their river and mountain adventures. Not to mention the fantastic backdrop of the Idaho sawtooth mountains! The inn is practically walking distance of many adventure guide companies, and excellent cafés serving high quality, fresh and beautifully prepared foods for healthy bodies. Everything about the physical property, private & public space, location & proximity to all that Stanley, the Salmon River and the Sawtooths have to offer is absolutely perfect. I can't think of a single improvement that could be made. Add to that excellent customer service and you have a perfect vacation combination. The person taking the reservation by phone, communicating by way of email, offfice/front desk/welcome station and even the cleaners were all super, super friendly, cordial, genuine and welcoming! I especially appreciated an email prior to our arrival welcoming us and telling us that they were looking forward to our stay. That made us all the more anxious & excited to get there! The lady that we gave our keys to upon checkout asked us about our stay and told us that she hoped we had a great visit. (WE DID INDEED!) Finally, a couple days after we left we received a gracious email thanking us for staying with them and welcoming us to come back in the future. Why would we go anywhere else? These folks mean business when it comes to extending hospitality. They make you feel like they want you, not that you're a burden or just a chore. That makes us all the more want to start making plans for our next visit! What a lovely spot. We are a thousand percent pleased. read more

We had a king bed riverside room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, The river view was amazing, the bed very comfortable, and they even had a fan for white noise. Had a great 3-night stay at Redfish Riverside Inn. We had a room on the river which was lovely. Awesome deck, great spot for morning coffee, afternoon cocktails, after dinner relaxing. Each unit on the river has a table and chairs, and the lower units have the bigger deck with 2 adirondeck chairs as well. We enjoyed the other folks who were our "neighbors" and all were respectful of the quiet hours. We were there during the Sawtooth Music Festival, but the Redfish Riverside Inn is just far enough from town to be quiet, while also close enough to walk for dinner. We enjoyed seeing the cows and pronghorn elk just across the river. Comfortable beds, hot showers. read more

I am a self admitted hotel snob. The Riverside Inn isn't a luxury hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is however in one the most beautiful placesI have ever been. My husband, 12 year old son and I stayed in the Osprey room right on the river and the location was heaven on earth. The room is right on the river and across the river is a beautiful ranch. The view including the Sawtooth mountains are awe inspiring. The room itself has low ceilings, 2 queen beds, a bathroom and tiny kitchenette area. I felt like we were glamping which was totally ok because of the location of this room. The room is up a set of stairs, which I didn't know when I booked it but that wasn't an issue for us. The deck is so peaceful with view and the sound of the river. There's a bbq, a table, chairs and lounge chairs. Be sure to bring big spray for the night time. We brought air freshener too and we were glad we did because there was a slight odor in the room but not bad, remember I am a hotel snob. My son brought his telescope to look at the stars but it was a cloudy night so we didn't get to use it. There is a little market and resturaunt within walking distance and a very easy short drive to the lake. All in all I would go back and stay in one of these rooms that face the river in a heartbeat. read more

The view from our room and outside deck was spectacular! The Salmon River was rushing and sounded beautiful all night. The room was clean, comfortable and we really enjoyed the bed and pillows. What a great little unexpected treasure this Inn is. The folks are wonderful and very accommodating. We had a beautifu 2nd floor room on the corner overlooking the Salmon River. You would think being right off the main road it would be noisy but It was quiet, cozy and very comfortable. You can sit on the back deck overlooking the river and just relax. The stars are so bright at night and the peace and quiet was amazing. We would highly recommend this place. Hiking, fishing and many other outdoor activities are at your fingertips. read more

This was our first visit to Stanley. We got the Ranger Cabin which was cozy with a fully equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds. The cabin does have heating and was very clean. Our stay was late September so a lot of the summer crowd was gone. The cabin is right on the highway but there was very little to no noise at night. We had a great visit. The room was spotlessly clean and quite comfortable. The kitchenette had everything we needed to make simple meals. The host was great at email and text communication which is great for coronavirus times. We even watched a hunting fox in the meadow across the river pounce, catch and eat something. I was looking for a few days away from my kids, and stumbled upon the idea of going to Stanley. I had seen many beautiful photos in the summertime of Stanley and wanted to check it out. I was looking for a place that overlooked the river and had a beautiful view from my room. This place more than delivered. If it's the warmer season you've got a wonderful deck you can sit on on top of the river. It's very quiet and peaceful which was nice. The room comes with a kitchenette so I didn't really have to leave. My room also had a fireplace and had that cute rustic cabin feel, Although Everything was modern. The place was affordable, and very clean. I hope to come back in the summertime and bring my kids. read more

My boyfriend and I booked a room to celebrate our anniversary. What we didn't realize as the room description failed to mention - it was like a zoo outside of our windows on the deck. We wanted to enjoy the sound of the river and keep our windows open as it was too hot but had to keep them shut b/c of noise and neighbors on both side walking outside of our windows and drinking and being loud. I would only recommend it to college kids that like the commotion and to party. Very disappointed and wasn't worth $250/night for us. read more

Beautiful back porch view of the river, and yet there's wifi if you need it!

We hit this place up every year, sometimes more than once a year. Go for the units on the first floor next to the river. The sound of the water and wild life is so soothing. The rooms are large with an oven and mini fridge for those that like to bring their own food and do a little cooking. They provide coffee and popcorn as a courtesy. There are also plates,cups, and utensils you can use as long as you wash them. A couple minor items is a weak wifi signal for those that like to check email. And be careful keeping your window open, people can walk by and easily look directly into your room. Minor nitpicks but worth mentioning. For the price though and convenience of accessing Redfish Lake and the surrounding countryside, this place can't be beat. read more

We loved our stay here. The rooms are really lovely - with a little rustic charm. The bedding was beautiful and the bath towels and small dining table and kitchenette make this a place you could stay for a while. The river is what I loved - you can leave the window open a bit and hear the river's soothing sound while you sleep. The area is phenomenal - not to be missed. read more

My husband surprised me with a massage from Mikesell at the Riverside Inn Spa. It was the highlight of my day. Perfect setting for relaxing with the perfect private room having beautiful french doors that open right up to the balcony over the river. The soothing sounds of the river while relaxing and getting a great massage is just the treat everyone should treat themselves or a loved one to. Clean rooms, beautiful setting, and nice help. Manager from Hell. There were some safety issues with the railing falling apart and apparently the upper deck was not safe. Our family had 7 out of 8 rooms rented. We were told we could not use the upper deck to have our pot luck dinner together. It was not safe for 16 people to stand on. But there were 16 chairs and 4 tables on the deck. Patti ( Manager)and her boyfriend wanted us to use the lower deck. We all went downstairs to a different deck to visit. Probably 8 adults were talking quietly and watching the time. It was 10:45 and Patti's boy friend came over ready to fight, and wanted to call the police on us. The average age of the 8 guests was 55 or older. We didn't have music on. The next morning Pattyi's boyfriend called the sheriff while we checked out because he was afraid of" those women." Most bizarre experience we've ever had in a motel. The manager wants to dictate your vacation. No signs or regulation posted about quite time. Most motels it is 11:00pm. You cannot have an outside guest sit on your deck space or come over. No company! They sit and watch everything from the office and make comments if you go run into them read more
