Stayed here for a night. This place was a great, rustic hotel. Rooms vary in size. I had the "Spring Room" which was the smaller room. It included a queen sized bed, a chair for relaxing, a desk for working, a private bath and access to the outside balcony. Rooms are decorated in the rustic, log built furnishings that one would expect. Reservations are made by calling in to the office. They are prepaid with a door access code sent to your phone the day of arrival. There is a central area for gathering with tables, chairs and a fireplace. There is a hot tub available. Some rooms are pet friendly. The WiFi worked good. The facility does not have elevators so having a room on the second floor requires carrying luggage up the stairs. The room had an air conditioner but it was a floor unit, not a wall unit. In all I enjoyed my stay here and would choose again if back in the area. read more

Best eggs benny in the nation! No joke, I promise. Homemade potatoes are to die for. This is a must try culinary experience. Killer homemade Fresno hot sauce and ketchup as well. Add a slice of warm banana bread and a tasty latte and your day will have already started as a top five all time day. I promise! These guys know what they are doing when it comes to food and service. Make a reservation online as it's a small dining room and nicely so. I can't say enough good things about this place. read more

Stanley High Country Inn has gorgeous views of the Sawtooths and attentive, helpful staff. The hotel is small enough that it almost feels like a hostel- the other guests were friendly and traveled from all over. Highly recommend for a couple's trip. Room was clean and cozy. The hot tub was easy to reserve, clean, and hot enough even on a freezing cold day. Walking distance to bars and restaurants, and a short drive from hot springs, trails, and some of Idaho's best recreation. read more

Cleanliness, and hospitality, our room and facilities were spotless, with fresh carpet and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The community kitchen and dining area were well-equipped, and the shared living space was perfect for relaxing. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the large window offered breathtaking views of the mountains and night sky. The entrance was beautifully adorned with vibrant flowers, adding a charming touch. We loved the private hot tub reservations, and the self-serve soda, hot chocolate, and tea were a lovely bonus. Coffee lovers will appreciate the ground coffee and coffee maker with full set of serve ware, including utensils, plates, glasses, and cups. The friendly hospitality made us feel right at home. Booked online , photos were accurate. Got text before arrival office was closed but welcome packet on door. Lobby was unlocked, easy to find the room. We had a suite with King bed and futon. Liked the back door to access the hot tub. Hot tub had sign up on main door. Lobby had fireplace and tables. Soda was available for a fee. Room was large. Bed was hard. Loved the fireplace. Location was excellent, we walked to get dinner and breakfast the next morning. Left keys in drop box when we left. I've never stayed in a motel without seeing any staff but it worked out. read more

We stayed for the weekend and had a good time. The room straighten up service was non existent all weekend. Luckily we had enough coffee tampons for the maker both mornings. There seems to be no night manager on site so be ready for domestic disturbances at any moment. They do offer free fountain soda and ice in the lobby if that's your thing. Okay place for the $$ but a little backwoods. No banjos or harmonicas but not far from it. Maybe we'll come back in winter and rent snowmobiles. Could just be the summer workforce too. Just expected more for $215 a night. There was a nice hot tub you can sign up for but it closes at 9pm and there's a $250 fine if caught after hours in the tub. Again, okay but not a great place considering the cost. Cheers! read more

Had a great time! We stayed at the inn to spend time at Redfish Lake which was booked and we are so glad we did. The hosts were great and so were the rooms. The large hot tub was easy to book and great to relax I. And was a great added feature. My wife and I liked it so much we booked the rooms in March so we could enjoy the cold weather and relax! Can't wait! This is also a great place to stay to explore Stanley! I have gone up to Stanley multiple times and never explored the town more than the outdoor store, coffee shop and merc. This time we went to those places too as well as downtown Stanley and Rod and Gun saloon, Marco's pizza and other out of the way places. I'll be honest all of this was explored in a day but it was great and I would do it again in a heartbeat. All in all a great experience! read more

First time in Stanley so I went with Yelp. Pros: Good location, clean, and within walking distance to restaurants. A hot tub is available by appointment, and they have a room where you can bring your food back to with tables and a fireplace. Cons: Noisy (walls are paper thin, and when water is running, be it a shower or sink, it is high decibel noise. I found the bed to be very hard and uncomfortable (I like a pillow top or foam) read more

This is absolutely not a 2 star hotel. I'd say it's a high grade 3 star. It's as good as a Marriott. We had the most wonderful, heart warming, toe warming (there's a wood burning stove!), experience staying at the SHCI! From the moment we walked in, we felt we were at the home of a warm relative, with kitchen provisions available to all, a cozy dining and living common area and comfortable, clean accommodations. The room itself was perfect. The bed had a high quality mattress (were mattress snobs and have a sterns and foster at home!). We stayed in a room with a single king bed and private bath, it was about $170/night. I'd say it was a great value. We slept incredibly well both nights we stayed in Stanley. The location is top notch we stayed right in the city center, a stone throw from the Stanley Bakery (a MUST try!). Stanley is a little fine food Mecca, which is shocking, because only 63 people (and maybe 177 cows and 55 horses and 3 dogs!). What we loved most was the hot tub, which is available via a sign up sheet. The amenities were lovely. The bathroom was clean. The shower pressure left a little to be desired but the towels were beautifully laundered. We had an issue with our Wi-Fi and the hotel reached out immediately to address it. We were blown away and will definitely be back! read more

The hotel is easy to check in and check out. Great location a block away from the amazing bakery, and multiple bars and restaurants. The town is located close to many rivers/hot spring and hiking spots. The hotel is dated, but doesn't cost too much. The staff is very friendly. read more

What a gem in the middle of the beautiful Stanley area....super clean and comfy, bed was great and the towels were plush and brand new. Staff was very friendly and accommodating...but the gold star goes to the restaurant downstairs....breakfast was amazing...lattes made with love and the grilled banana bread was soooo scrumptious.....I am still talking about it 4 days later!! Skip the breakfast place across the street (wish we had known about this option our first morning) Would definitely recommend and will be back this Summer for sure. We really loved this place, cute, comfortable, secluded, old fashion cowboy ranch style decor. The High Country Inn sits at the base of the Sawtooth mountains, spectacular views of the mountain. Stanley is very small but has several shops and restaurants. We were upstairs and each upstairs room has a balcony and chairs for enjoying the view. We would definitely go back. read more

I rarely take the time to write Yelp reviews, but for this place I felt obligated. First off, the food quality, flavors & complexity deserve a Michelin star. Every item we tasted (including hash, farro salad, burrito and Thai soup was spectacular). The chai tea was best I've ever had. Homemade hot sauce was also superb. The staff (Maggie was our waitress) was equally spectacular and the ambiance was perfect for a small town in Idaho. Can not recommend stopping here enough if you are in the area. read more

We stayed here at the tail end of a rafting trip. Stanley is a small town so everything is pretty much within walking distance of the Inn. The staff was really friendly. We had a room in the back on the balcony which was great. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable and most importantly (after a week on the river) there was plenty of hot water in the shower! read more
