DO NOT GO HERE. My bf called this place to get his brake rotor and a brake caliper changed only on one tire (front driver side ) because he and his friend changed the other ones on the 3 other tires already. They just had a hard time with this tire. When he called this place, the man told him $220, then would call back and change the price and say $ 300, and he would have to get corrected by being told you just told me $220. Then the man would say, "Oh yeah, right, $220. Mind you, this is only for 1 tire. I think that's way too much for 1 tire, but anyways, the car ended up being in the shop for 1 day (to change a brake for one tire). The man called in the morning and said, "These are the wrong brakes and rotors, so I used mine and changed the other one in the front as well, so it's gonna be $450 now." Auto Zone helped find the correct brakes and rotors for the car and even so NOBODY TOLD YOU TO DO THAT. Soon as the car is being driven back home, it starts to smoke. Now the coolant is empty (never ever had this broken before), so had to go to the gas station to get something for it, poured some into the car, and drove a little down, and it's smoking again and the coolant back empty, so it's a leak. I called the man multiple times once the car started smoking and he's denying everything. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Shady business practices. I contacted this location for a rear brake job. After dropping off my vehicle, I was provided with a price for parts and labor. However, when I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I presented a coupon issued by the repair facility. Upon receiving the coupon, the shop "adjusted" the total amount of my repair, rendering the coupon essentially useless. It's unethical to issue coupons to customers with no intention of honoring them. I have already filed a complaint with the FTC. Avoid doing business with Shady auto repair facilities! read more

This was my third trip to Redford Auto Repair. A-1 service is always provided by Al and the mechanics. Professional service is given and the prices are reasonable. Some of the clients that I've seen there appear to have been bringing their cars in for service for many years. Also the customers appear to be very happy with the services. Al listens well to the concerns of his clients and then analyzes the vehicle. Even recommendations are made related future service requirements. I absolutely hate giving bad reviews on businesses but if I can save someone time and money, I will. I'm not telling anyone what to do, just telling about my experience. Sorry for the long post but I want people to be aware. I paid Redford Auto on the corner of Beech and 7 mile to replace brakes and rotors on my truck in Dec 2022. In Feb my truck started running weird and I took it Total Car Care on Middlebelt, between 7 and 8 mile. They took it for a quick test drive told me my rotors were warped and I should go back to where I got them done because they should still be under warranty. I go back to Redford Auto and they say that they were warped and they could replace them because they were still under warranty but they would have to charge me in labor. I was ok with that, I paid and they "redid the work". Two weeks later my brakes are grinding bad. So I took it back to Total Car Care and the mechanic looked at my rotors (without having to take my car in the shop) and told me they weren't new. He showed me what they should look like. He also said there's no way they put new rotors on my truck almost two weeks ago because of the grooves. So I took my car back to Redford Auto and told them I was aware my rotors weren't new and they swore to me they were but they'd replace them for free and wouldn't charge me labor "this time"(). I checked (because I was now aware what to look for) and was able to see that the rotors were shiny and had no grooves before I left the shop. A couple weeks later the grinding is back. I go back to Total Car Care and they take my truck to the back and I watch them as they pull of my brake pads from my truck and they show me that the brake pads that were used was of the lowest quality. I told them I didn't want to take it back to Redford Auto and I paid them to replace my brake pads and my truck has been riding smooth since. All of this to say, if I didn't have these issues with the used rotors I would have never known they didn't give me new rotors like I paid for. The fact that they did this knowing I have children infuriated me. They talk to you as if they're helping but it's all a front. While waiting all day in the shop to have my car fixed the second time I watched them tell every person that came in that something else was wrong with their car and charge at them at least $100 extra for that service. Not sure if they were telling the truth or not but I just thought it was odd that every person (at least 10 people) had something additional wrong with their car that day. Pic is of the rotors they told me were new. These rotors were supposedly 2 weeks old. If you know anything about rotors (which I didn't, but do now) there shouldn't be rust like this and so many grooves in 2 weeks. read more

My transmission went out on my Chrysler Town and Country they got me back together in the day or two it was a little costly but I'm no mechanic so I don't know how much it cost for a transmission but I guess the price was reasonable from everyone I talked to at work read more

They try to sell work that your car doesn't need and the work they do is only half done and the parts are cheap.Had a brake job done less then 4 months ago and now I need brakes already lesson learned won't go there again so now I need to go somewhere else and get done the right way read more

This place was recommended by a friend. My car needed an entire rear brake job. In addition, the driver side rear wheel was locking up. The charged me 475.00 to do the job. I came up to pick up my vehicle and drive the one mile home. About half way home the car began to shake horribly. I put my flashers on and drove the rest of the way. When I got home my friend immediately came out to the car. The lug nuts were not there. The car was riding on the rim. The fact that I made it home without serious injury to myself or others can only be described as miraculous. They denied any responsibility but did agree to send a tow truck the FOLLOWING DAY. If I could give Redford Auto zero stars, I would! I took my Volkswagen Jetta in for a diagnostic on a check engine light as well as a full oil change. Ended up needing spark plugs and one ignition coil. $320 later, my car was done. Or so I thought. The following week, car engine starts ticking. Since I had a warranty, I took it to the dealer to see what could be happening. It couldn't be anything to do with the oil, I literally just had it changed. Turns out, Redford Auto put the wrong oil and oil filter in my car! My car requires full synthetic oil, they used conventional oil. The oil filter they used, was blown apart. Had to get an engine flush and new oil change done by the dealership. Car check engine light still flashing on and off from day to day. Now the ticking is back, for the next few months I go back and forth to the dealership to try and figure out what is going on. It couldn't need a tune up, I just got one back in October. The ultimate ticking noise was from Redford Auto using the WRONG spark plugs! This caused both of my oxygen sensors to go out. Redford Auto is a very negligent business! I would never recommend anyone to take their car to Redford Auto. read more
