I no longer take my vehicles there and either do my family members. There are better shops in the area that we prefer. Newer owner just doesn't run it like a true mechanic.

These people are liars I took. My equinox into Tuffy for a full service synthetic oil change,…read more vehicle inspection, and tire rotation. . I called the next day at 3 PM to see if my car was ready and they said about 10 minutes. I picked it up and went home. I noticed that the tire rotation had not been done when the woman behind the counter lied to me. The reason why I know this is because I removed the air cap from the passengers rear tire when I got home. I noticed the same tire was in the rear, and I called and notified them. They told me that sometimes they go side to side instead of front to back. I told him that neither had not been in touched. Also, none of my fluids were topped off as my add fluid for the window light was still on. In the morning the next day, I went to Belle tire and paying them to do the rotation and check my fluids during the inspection. They showed me my cabin and air filter which were filthy and should've been pointed out if Tuffy really did an inspection. I've been going there for the past three years never a problem Tuffy now lost me as a customer and their ethics are horrible. I keep my car impeccable, and don't even know if the oil was changed. Never again and you should be ashamed to yourself.

Mechanic review I…read morefound this place through yelp when pursuing a car from a private seller in the area while I was all the way in New York. Saw all the great reviews and decided to call. When answering they were very friendly and I got put on the phone with Al who was awesome! I asked if he had experience with Lexus models (the car I specifically wanted inspected was the 2005 Lexus LS 430) and he did, sharing his knowledge. He did a great job with all the details he went through giving an honest assessment of the potential issues which were mostly minimal. He went the extra mile answering all my questions and the price they gave was incredible value for $80. After coming several days later to Wixom to the purchase the car from the private seller, I reached out to Al and the team same day to see if they could squeeze me in for a quick once over before my long drive back to New York City and they did that same afternoon. This was extremely important because I was pressed on time and had to leave Michigan early the next morning. John one of the mechanics there greeted me and was super friendly showing great enthusiasm to looking at my new car. We spoke for quite a bit and he took a look at the engine and addressed all the concerns. He even offered to take a look for the oil leak potential issue that popped up during the pre purchase inspection to see if it had subsided or needed to be addressed. These mechanics at this business are passionate hard working professionals that will take care of you and make you feel like you made the best choice in picking them for your car concerns. Definitely felt the Michigan hospitality as someone from a state far away, cannot recommend them enough!

Predatory estimating practices and double-charged labor. Beware…read more Had my 2013 Kia Sorento brought here after a front-left suspension issue on the road. The inspection resulted in a massive, high-pressure estimate for a full subframe replacement and both front control arms, totaling thousands of dollars. Thankfully, I looked closely at the itemized invoice before authorizing anything. They attempted to charge me 4 hours of labor ($600) to replace the subframe, but then double-dipped by charging full, completely separate individual labor rates ($234 each) to replace the left and right control arms. Anyone who knows cars knows the control arms have to come off anyway during a subframe swap, charging full overlapping labor is a classic corporate chain trick to balloon the bill. To make matters worse, when my regular independent mechanic asked if they could snap a 5-second photo with their phone of the "rusted through/cracked" section of the frame so he could verify the failure, the salesman explicitly refused to send one, telling me I had to drive all the way down there and go into the shop bay myself if I wanted proof. Reputable shops have zero issues documenting a massive structural failure for a customer. I immediately had AAA tow my car out of there to a trusted, honest independent shop. If you bring your car here, check their math closely and do not let them panic you into signing a massive structural rebuild without a second opinion.
