This place is super cool. I read about it in the Strib before a camping trip however we didn't make it there. About a month later my wife and I hiked at 3 state parks and stopped here for lunch and a beverage. It is awesome! It's a family owned farm with the daughter making wonderful cheeses and they use the leftover liquid from making the cheese to make their spirit AZRO(Araga is the name for fermented milk wine- koumiss- distilled into liquor. We use Redhead Creamery milk sugar to make this fine spirit.) It is a super cook place with extremely friendly people working the farm. The cheeses they make are phenomenal, when I walked into the restaurant/shop area my senses were hit with mouthwatering smells and the food backs it up. Go support an amazing local business, you won't regret it. The drinks were great as was the food, my wife got the JER-LINDY SMASH BURGER It is beef seasoned and smashed with your choice of Redhead Cheese and a house made Lucky's mustard aioli and deep fried cheese curds. I got the pan fried curds, cast-iron fried to perfection and topped with a maple bacon syrup. Again this place is just awesome, definitely go check it out and go on a tour as well! read more

If you are interested in trying an alcohol made from whey called Azro (tastes like vodka with a blue cheese vibe IMHO, but is perfect for that "secret ingredient cocktail."), stop at the bar and restaurant. A relative saw redhead creamery on Zoe's bakes and so we decided to make a trip up about 2 hours from the cities to check it out! The dirt road you have to take to get there solidified that we were officially out in "the country!" Driving up you see a line of cows eating. There's also a barn and a cute shop where we checked in for our farm tour. After a stroll around the shop I became focused on the menu. Even though we only had 10 minutes til the tour start we decided to order the pan-fried maple bacon cheese curds!! They were delicious and smelled amazing!! They let us take the food outside to the tables where we began our tour with the story of the farm and the area. If you are into agricultural history and want the full story on dairy barns, cows, and the farm owners personal connection to the farm I highly recommend. If you just want to check out the cheese and aren't into background stories and food production just skip the tour and enjoy a glass of wine and a cheese sampler or panini! The tour was extremely informative and I walked away having a much greater appreciation for cows, farmsteads and the farmers who work hard to provide these amazing products. We ordered delivery of a cheese plate and various cheese for delivery. They have a great delivery route system with free delivery for larger orders. Some of my favorites: Little Lucy Brie - great Brie in just the right size St. Anthony - great rind washed cheese Tipsy Tilsiter - great on its own and melts nice too Salsa Verde Cheddar Slices - a favorite for snacking or grilled cheese or burgers. We've heard about this creamery winning an award for one of their brands. We took the trek from St. Cloud, which will now be a regular occurrence. This is a working farm, and our next visit we will take the tour to learn about the history and current production. The store has their made cheeses, and all were delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and extremely knowledgeable - and (rightfully) proud of - all these cheese selections. You can order a variety of pan fried cheese curds, made in a cast iron skillet. We got the Maple Bacon, which comes with a side of a honey dip and mustard dip. These alone would get a 5 star rating. There is a variety of wines, mostly MN made beers, sodas, etc. Many of the other items for sale (jams, spreads, dips, hot sauces) are mostly MN made too. Their logo T-Shits and hats are cool. I liked a red trucker hat. They were currently out, but took the display hat off the wall for me. This is a place we will visit every few months. A place to bring visiting friends. This is a true "find" and another MN business that makes me love Minnesota. Bravo to Redhead Creamery! read more

We noticed the sign along the road and looked it up. The wine and cheese thing sounded like fun and the reviews were really good. It's so close to my wife's family lake cabin it's odd we hadn't heard of it before. We had a wonderful time. The people were welcoming and friendly. We tried everything it seems, wine and cheese and then did it again! Our teenagers were out making friends with the cows. We spent 2-1/2 hours there chatting, eating and learning a little about cheese making. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will return. read more

We came to the creamery for a tour. What can I say, they show you everything from how they raise the calfs, over feeding and milking the cows to making the cheese. If you've never seen this or a real farm in particular you should really give it a try. At the end you'll get a cheese tasing. A must for cheese lovers. This place is the real deal -- an authentic family-owned dairy farm with cheese made on the farm straight from their cows. While, of course, the cheese is excellent, it's the experience of interacting with family and hearing their story that makes it worth the visit. This family is fully committed to their family-run dairy farm, surviving despite the economic challenges of the farm crisis of the 1980's (for the younger generation, the farming crisis was similar to the recent housing market crash -- really, really, really difficult time). The love they have for their herd is obvious, starting with giving a name to each calf that starts with the same letter as her mother / cow, One of the reasons Jerry and Linda chose this farm to raise their family (four red-head daughters!) was the lake on the property. They dreamed of being able to host people on their farm to share their passion for their animals and dairy foods. When their daughter wanted to start her own business making cheese, it was a natural to have it on the family farm. The brand new cheese-making facility is beautiful! It is a perfect place to hold a special event (they can seat 40). They have a liquor license so serve Minnesota-made beer and wine. Linda LOVES to bake apple pie (of course I had to taste test it -- yum!!!) and she offers cooking classes. It is impossible to leave the farm without being totally in love with cows, cheese and this family. read more

Great family owned/run business with super friendly people. Took over 90 miles drive to get there and it was completely worth it. Tour was very thorough and full of information as well as access to pet and get slobbered on by calves. The kids loved it. Cheese samples at the end and of course the opportunity to purchase cheeses and other foodstuffs to take home and enjoy. I will certainly seek out their products in the stores! read more
