It was pretty dead on a Saturday night around 8:30 (maybe because they close at ten). I tried the honey citrus salmon and my mom tried a burger with chilli. You get fresh buns before the meal. The buns do have lightly melted cheese sprinkled on them that I didn't care for. For my entree, the honey-citrus glaze was really good over the salmon and spinach. I didn't like that the potatoes were also mixed in the spinach with the salmon put atop it all. I felt the potatoes should have been a side dish because they didn't pair well with spinach. I'm basically eating a salmon salad with some potatoes in it... that's not a normal dish. But overall, it was good. Service was without issues. Looks like they have a nice patio for outdoor seating. Parking is plentiful in a big lot out front.

I love the idea the owner has about bringing fresh locally farmed ingredients to the menu. The menu is simple and it was perfect for lunch. We tried the tomato basil soup, smoked turkey sandwich and chicken salad sandwich. Everything tasted so good! Just a heads up, they aren't huge sandwiches but it was plenty for me.

I decided to get a pastrami and a pulled pork sandwich to go. The kid behind the counter actually heated up the two meats in a pan, I thought that was a nice touch. The lady was very nice and served it to me with a smile. I got 4 elk burgers to grill and I have had two. They are kind of gamey in a nice way and super lean. I will add some salt and pepper to it when I grill it up tonight. I might even add a slice of pepper jack to add a little fat to the meal. It went well with a nice side salad and some zucchini sticks. This place was a great small town meat market and there was a vegetable stand in the parking lot and I got some great cherry tomatoes.

My big mistake was deciding I needed a combo and adding brisket (after being talked out of pulled pork as the waiter said it was "ok on a sandwich, but boring on it's own". Just OK. The brisked, on the other hand, was simply not real brisket. I've have pot roasts at my grandma's house that tasted less like roast beef that this slab of meat did. Yes, it was VERY tender. But there was absolutely no BBQ flavor to it. No smokiness, no woodfire grill essence, just no true brisket taste. It tasted like it was steamed or maybe boiled in a crock pot. The pickles were awesome.
