I am having my car painted at Yucaipa collision on California Street in Yucaipa. I got a call from one of the employees that they couldn't paint the roof of the car because I have a luggage rack up there and if I had the me y, I bought the car used and never had a key , so that put a paint job on hold the roof was the main reason of having the car painted. It was starting to rust so now and I had to scramble how am I gonna get this thing off Where do I go and I remembered about Redlands lock and key doing some work for me when I first bought my house so with fingers crossed I called them, hoping they could do something! Well, Justin answered the phone I explained the situation and he dispatched Thomas so I drove down to meet him and found out that the car was across the street and one of their satellite storage areas I called back explained where I would be and within five minutes Thomas showed up exactly where I told him I would be in less than five minutes the rack was off, what a relief !!! This is the third time that I have called Redlands lock and key with a semi desperate situation. They listen to you don't hesitate at all for the situation at hand they're competent trustworthy show up when they say they will. They they won't gouge your wallet and try to get rich. I've had the pleasure of having the team at Redlands Lock & Key help me on many occasions in the store. I purchased a few smart locks, abs wanted their cores to match my existing locks in the some. I want to share that mask wearing is mandatory in store for customers: there is a sign in the window, and free masks and sanitizer at the door. They have 3 spaced out chairs to keep customers apart. There is even a plexiglass divider between the register and customers. When they come on site, they do wear masks. I've visited the store three times: and each time, there has been a maskless employee. On top of that- today's visit include a person without a mask talking on the phone about how they may have gotten exposed and are getting tested. 5 stars for work, service, abs value. I would like to encourage this company to protect their fellow employees and customers by wearing a mask while in store. It's a very small store, and it's clear they have made adjustments for the pandemic. One more adjustment for the safety of those in your store so you can continue to operate and serve our community. read more

I have used Redlands Lock and Key for years. I needed extra keys to be made for my pet sitting clients . Juan was always at the shop and he helped me and was very knowledgeable. Juan has been doing mobile services for years now so I've had whomever at the shop help me. We have had problems with our front door handle for a long time, it was hard to push down the handle to get into our house. In December, 2018 we decided we had to do something, either fix the handle set or buy a new set. I called the shop and asked for Juan but they said someone else could come up to look at our door. A young man came and took off a plate and sprayed the parts inside, that's all he did on the trip. It was $70 for the trip to spray the inside of the lock. About one week later It was so hard to open we couldn't go in and out of it anymore and had to use a side door. I got ahold of Juan since he had helped me in the past and he is also the owner. He looked at the lock and said he could get a part for it. My husband went to pick up the part and installed it, the handle wouldn't not go down, was worse than before. I told Juan about the problem and he came up and said it was broken and would try and get another part. I sent him a text after a week to see if he could get the part, he said he didn't think so, but would let me know if he could. Never heard back so I went into the shop to talk to him, same answer. It's now Jan 3rd and I had sent him another 3texts over a couple weeks to see if he found anything out about getting another part. I forgot I had in my contacts another locksmith, his name was Russ, he actually had sold Redlands Lock and Key to Juan years ago. I had used Russ in the past then when he sold the business to Russ I didn't know where he had moved to. Russ told me he had a guy that was the best at fixing old door sets, old or new locks and handles. The guy he recommended was Bennie which I got contacted that day. He came up the next day and happened to have the part in his van which was over 10 years old and fixed my door. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and we didn't have to buy another door set. He said our door handle set was worth about $400-$500. I would never use Juan again since he never would respond back to me and left me hanging, it was 1 1/2 months I waited for a response of what can be done. I also found out it was his son that first came to our house that sprayed the handle and didn't fix it and charged $70.00 I would recommend Russ from Crown lock if you have any problems with your door handles etc. read more

He charged me a fraction of what everyone else wanted to charge me to program 2 keys for my 2019 Nissan. He charged me 60 for both and even changed the battery on one of them, wow. I went in to have a key made for a trunk lock on a vintage car that had a lost key, I picked it up, paid the fee, and when I got home, I noticed the key worked, but the lock did not. when I called them, I was told all they do is make a key they do not fix locks and the lock must've been broke when I brought it in. ( Why would you make a key for a broken lock?) ( why would you not contact the customer and let him know the lock is broken?) ( why can't a Locksmith fix broken a lock? We had an emergency situation, my mother wandered off at 2 am. This company was able to come out and install keyed deadbolts to all the doors in a short amount of time for a fair price. They understood our emergency and they made us a priority. So tonight we can all rest knowing my mom can't go wandering around barefoot, in her nightwear, with no teeth in, knocking on neighbors doors giving them a bad scare as well as us. i have the kind of key that has the alarm remote on it. I tried taking to walmart but they were unable to do it. i did not want to be charged mega bucks by a dealer. What a waste of time. We have a parked car that inoperable and needed a key to be made for it or reprogrammed. (A little bit of a backstory...car didn't turn on one morning. Couldn't determine the issue of why it's not running. Battery checked out fine, and it's definitely not the starter. But that's all beside the point). Since car is inoperable, we made an appointment for them to come to our house (previously we were told car needed to be at the store). We had already anticipated paying their service fee but...that assumes services are rendered right? I get it. As a business, you probably have to charge that fee that pays for gas and the hour of our time that the employee wasted, telling us that he was unable to program the key. If you tell me you can't do something, tell me why or tell me how I can fix it so I can go somewhere else. so why was this fee still charged??? There's more to this review prior to us setting the appointment but I'm not going to waste any more of my time. Bottom line, don't waste your time with this business either. Case in point. Please refer to the previous posts with low ratings where the owner replied. His "exemplary" customer service is apparent. "The customer is wrong, the customer did something wrong, we can't help you bc you were wrong." Handle your business like a business owner. Get off your high horse, the 4-star rating means nothing to me. read more

Very disappointed in the service here. I ordered a key, was told 2 days and I'd receive a call, 6 days later after no call I went in to find that my key arrived and had been sitting there for who knows how long. I waited as the key was being cut and programmed for my car, only to look outside to see that the guy doing it chose to leave my car door open and unattended to go back inside and get his phone. When I confronted him about leaving a customers valuable possessions (whatever one may keep in their car) I was told that "it was no big deal, it was just for a minute". UPDATE: my car was not unlocked until I watched you put the key in the door and unlock but ok, based on previous reviews, I'm not the only unhappy customer... lying as a reply is definitely not the most appropriate response. Update: Key was ordered Tuesday morning not Thursday... again being dishonest. Furthermore, as you said I came outside and "yelled" at you about leaving my car unattended with the door wide open, which you responded by telling me it was just a minute and not a big deal. I did address the concern at the time just as I did about not getting a follow up as promised about the key being available. I hope future customers take the time to read this entire feed. read more

After receiving three recommendations to Redlands Lock & Key, I gave them a call. Augie was at my home within ten minutes. His patience with my door lock (and my barking dog), was commendable. I'd have taken a hammer to the thing (and then thrown it at the window to get him to shut up) (just kidding, folks; no hate mail, please). But seriously, he was able to diagnose the problem, fix it, and be on his merry way, in less than 30 minutes. And his price was fair. Short Story: They did not perform, gave me the run around, still charged me a service fee. Long Story: Ordered keys to be made for my car. They were able to cut the key, but told me I needed a code to program. I retrieved the code for them from the dealership and brought it to them. Then they told me they needed the car to be physically at their store (car is inoperable). I scheduled an appointment for them to come to my home. They notified me that there would be a service fee to come out. Their employee came out, was unable to program my key, and still charged me the service fee. This service responded very quickly to my work request thru the Yelp app. Juan was on time and did a really good job for us while being professional and nice. I had a front door handle and dead bolt changed out and he noticed that the new hardware didn't quite match up with the strike plates on the door frame. He ended up aligning everything up with new bolts for the door hinges. I learned alot today! read more
