One of the best spa experiences I have had. There are two locations and this review is for the Filmore location. The team there was so accommodating and welcoming. They found a way to make my appointment request work out seamlessly. The massage was amazing! It wasn't about comfort; he was focused on getting the knots out of my back and he did exactly that. I feel like the tension was relieved and I could tell he was very experienced. I loved the vibration tools he used to get deeper as well The spa as a whole is such a vibe! It's extremely comfortable, clean and relaxing. They sent me home with a great gift as well. I immediately recommended it to my friend and he went the next day. An added bonus: Redmint was in a great location where you can grab food, coffee or a drink on the same street. You won't regret the visit!

Very zen here with their lovely ambiance and decor and easily overlooked since it's in a narrow spot tucked away in between shops. They have therapeutic services for the mind and body, cosmetic products and tea bar available here. Mark was my masseuse and he really put pressure on where my tension was during the deep tissue massage session and focused on the areas that was really sore to me. No pain no gain is what I was thinking about when he was unknotting my tense body. At one point, I was even breaking a sweat! Service was attentive. A little on the pricey side for a massage and maybe for other services and products, but well staffed and one is paying for the relaxing touch here. I think maybe offering tea before or after the session, would help boost it to a 5 star grade.

Redmint, one of the best women owned businesses, was doing a great job taking care of us. Might come back for another round of herbal drinks which beat better than every cup of coffee or espresso. This time, I got to experience one of the best sessions that Redmint had recommended. Introducing the LED Tanning Bed! Its neon red glow radiates away the unwanted toxins in your body. I first, lay on my front side before turning the "start" button, say 20 minutes. When the tanning bed was automatically off, I got to switch to my back side as if I was lying in bed for an additional 20 minutes. That made me feel like a frozen dinner entreé on an open faced microwave oven before I'm well done. That felt good when I looked young again. Of course, wearing a pair of UV goggles was worth it during the tanning session. I know deep down that tanning wouldn't be enough for me to alleviate my lower back pain once I woke up the next day. It'll be an honor to try acupuncture when I'm good and ready. I'm starting to treat Redmint as if it's my new start to my journey.

Here for our sisters day and excited. I am having the RedMint Signature - which is a cupping/acupuncture combo and my sister is having the acupuncture! We loved our experience - the rooms were serene, clean and beautiful. We both had Patricia Kim and absolutely enjoyed our sessions. She made us feel very comfortable and eliminated any first time jitters or awkwardness. We also immediately connected with her once we realized we were fellow Korean Americans! The tea service was wonderful and lounge area was perfect while waiting for my session to end. My first cupping therapy and I LOVED it! The sound and vibration therapy in the start and end is very soothing as well. I was sold and joined as a member! Had my second membership visit. Here is my response to their survey: Patricia Kim is the best. I found out about Redmint through the Yelp elite event and that's where I first met her. I booked my first wellness therapy with cupping and acupuncture with her and thoroughly enjoyed my experience and became a member. The facility is so beautiful and enhances the wellness experience! The membership Is such a good bargain as well! Highly recommend the cupping acupuncture therapy and must try their teas!!

My experience at Redmint was relaxing! The tea I tried upon arriving was warm and carved in a ceramic cup that I felt brought the flavor out more. The person there gave us a tour and told us about the services they offer. Very professional and informative. I got ear seed acupuncture cone and I can still feel them tender on my ear, but I do feel they have helped reduce my stress and helped me physically relax more. Definitely would like to return for a facial or massage in the future.

I must say, it's been a hot minute since I've written a review (I mean it's the pandemic right? We try to stay indoor and safe). Shoutout to the Community Manager, Carmina, for informing me that I was chosen for this Yelp Elite event. I'm so glad this was one of the events because it's been sitting in my bookmarked for awhile now, and due to the pandemic, they were closed for awhile. Luckily they're open again and what's a better way to welcome in a new year than with a holistic start. Very festive, modern, and zen style entrance, for a hole in the wall place located in the Marina district (advise to come on a Sunday so meters will be free, otherwise parking might be challenging). As you enter, I was lured by the harmony of Guzheng (古箏) and Yang Qin (洋琴), classical Chinese string instruments (live musics are weekends only from 1-4pm, I went on a Saturday, sadly Sunday 2/21 was their last day of live performance). A very clean and bright place, everyone was respectful of one another, wore masks (besides when we're enjoying our drinks), and social distanced. As a Yelp Elite, we were given a complimentary goody bag and a drink of your choice (herbal tea or coffee) - I went with a herbal latte (I believe it was #1 on their drink menu - Relax + chill) with soy milk (ask for their milk option, they have so many, like rice milk O_O) + honey. I must say, I'm not foreign to herbal teas aka "liang cha (涼茶)", but this is definitely my first time having it with milk, very interesting. At most, it's not bitter, accompany with a bit of milk foam on top, and the milk just soothes out the texture of your typical Chinese herbal tea. Coincidentally a couple of us Yelp Elites showed up around the same time so it got really busy for the lady at the front desk - making us drinks, answering phone calls, booking appointments, and welcoming customers all by herself (Praise)! Kudos to you, Praise! We were also given a complimentary 10 min service like auricular therapy but since there were a couple of us, I didn't want my mom to wait too long so I let the lady know I'll come back the next day to experience that service. [Sunday] Re-visited on a late afternoon. Finally tried out the complimentary auricular therapy. Takeaway: - Ear seeding: auriculotherapy where a seed (made out of 24 carats gold or crystal + adhesive) used to help stimulate pressure points in the ear - It doesn't hurt. The lady helped me figure out which pressure points will best apply to my needs. Can leave it on for 3-5 days, and massage those points to help with stress or whatever your concerns were - Ear seeds are a more passive form than acupuncture - The owner tested and created all the herbal teas and their own in-house product line, Redmint - All licensed acupuncturist. Main focus will be acupuncture, but also provides other services such as massages and facials - Open outside bar has a heater to keep guest warm Overall a very soothing and relax environment to unwind. I'd say even if you're not into their services, it's a great place to visit and enjoy one of their Herbal Bar drinks, whether it's for detoxing or a pick-me-up. Praise, the lady at the front desk was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thanks for a great experience, hopefully I'll get a chance to try some of the services in the future! P.S, I wish your brochure comes with Chinese characters, I think that will be a great touch for the service menu breakdown!

11/30/2020 Quarantine Day 259 First of all, THANK YOU to YelpSF and Redmint for the giveaway they were doing on instagram! I won third prize in their giveaway: 1 free 25 minute hand and foot reflexology guasha. I always enter any type of giveaway with the mindset that I won't win anything but I am more than happy to support local businesses by spreading their name. So lo and behold my surprise when I found out that I actually won something (hmm maybe I should try for the lotto at some point?) Redmint is located in the Marina district. Parking can be tricky and if you are lucky to find a metered spot, have your credit card ready because it will cost you $4.25 an hour. When you're driving by, you might miss it but after you park and walk over there, you'll see their sign and storefront. The decor and natural lighting really gave me a sense of calm and relaxation. I walked in and the first thing on the left you will see the Herbal Bar. That day, Liuhong and Jason were working. They both greeted me and I checked in with Jason. After checking in, he showed me the different areas where they do the acupuncture, LED light therapy and the lounge area. The lounge area was were I got the 25 minute hand and foot reflexology guasha. This is the first time in a long time that I had ever gotten a massage and boy did that 25 minutes just on my hands and feet felt great! During the session, Jason educated me on some of the services they offer and the benefits. He is super friendly and the service was excellent. This is a great place if you have money to spend, live in the immediate area or if you wanna just treat yourself once in a while to some self-care.

Lovely zen spa in the city, very quiet and peaceful! This oasis is incredible because it is so spacious in a popping area of SF. Came by to check it out and also grabbed som herbal extracts (ranging from $15-19) that have different benefits! There's also a lot of skincare products also ones with CBD. I saw they offer a wide range of services and skincare as well.

Facilities were clean and lovely, they have the spas and massage rooms on the first floor and a clay and salt room on the second floor. There is a vanity room where there are plenty of snacks and water/coffee/tea for you to rehydrate yourself with. I believe you get an hour before and after your appointment to enjoy all the amenities. And if you get the scrub highly recommend coming early and softening up your skin in the spas beforehand. I got the silverbell 1 hour message, which comes with the scrub, massage, and also a hair wash. The lady was super gentle and checked in on me whether that was the water temperature, scrub pressure or the massage strength. I thought with everything going on in this it might feel too rushed but time felt well budgeted.

Otherwise, you'll need to book a service at least a month in advance. It's situated in Japantown. If you're driving, I recommend parking in the garage as street parking is either by permit and limited to two hours. They kindly pushed our scrub time to later since one of our party members was running a bit behind. This is the first Korean place I've been to where they requested you come an hour earlier versus thirty minutes. Seemed like a long time to soak. There's also no clock inside the actual bathing area, so difficult to keep track of time. Also, first time going to a Korean spa where they want it to be absolutely silent. I get that they are going for a relaxed environment, but kind of difficult to just soak for an hour and not chit chat amongst ourselves. The shower/soaking area is on the smaller side and for some reason, they didn't have any stools for the sitting bathing areas available. There's one hot tub, one ice tub, a dry sauna, and steam sauna. This would have been more of a three-star experience for me if not for the scrub. My ahjumma, Lee, was great; very attentive and did a very thorough job! Not mentioned in the list of services, but they also wash your hair and face as well as part of the thirty-minute scrub. After our scrub, we headed upstairs to try out the Himalayan salt room and the red clay room. They had staff cleaning throughout so they definitely take cleanliness seriously. Locker room area has lots of Aveda product toiletries and blow dryers available for after. As we were leaving, they gave a face and eye mask which was much appreciated. I can see this being a go-to place if you live in the city, especially if you prioritize relaxation and cleanliness. Just be sure to make an appointment ahead of time.

Keep in mind it is a very small spa - and without lots of amenities for the price. However, I can say that my visit was a 10/10! I was able to see the Golden Gate Bridge from my bath. I don't know what's in that bath, but I took the best nap ever when I got back to my hotel room. Meera was a dream to have to service us. I booked the soak that had an awesome view of the city. I would definitely recommend going on a cooler day since the soak issss HOT, but I was able to cool it down with colder water. They provided shades and other seating if you have a partner/friend with you that don't have a session. They'll even provide them with complimentary mimosas/water as well. I'm usually a bit icky with tubs but this tub felt amazing and clean. Had my boyfriend and I wondering if we could have one of our own lol. I'm personally a fan of a skyline view so it was super relaxing for me to hear the city go by and look out to the buildings. After my soak, she offered to let me see the view from the couples massage room, and it was certainly quite the view. Because this soak was a valentines present from my boyfriend, they gave little soaps for me as a gift! Would certainly come here again for the spa and book a massage next time!

I hate to leave a bad review, especially since the lady at the check-in desk was extremely kind, polite, and nice. However, various aspects of this place were unacceptable. It was my first visit, which I will never revisit due to the following reasons. First, Onsen charges $50 for an entrance fee, which we are allowed to stay for two hours. However, the overall service I got was not worth the price at all. 1. I was there for the ladies-only day. The locker room area was TOO small and fully crowded to use. I waited for 7-8 minutes until people started leaving and had more space inside to squeeze in, while other people who were standing, naked and covered with towels, tried to get to their lockers. That was the check-in, and when I left, it was the same case for getting ready for check-out. I became one of the towel-covered naked people who were waiting to get to the locker, while other people were staying in the same form. I felt like I was in a low-budget high school female locker room. 2. The lotion in the female locker area was out. I purposely placed the bottle at the edge of the amenity area so that they would refill it, but in the end, the empty bottle was returned to the original spot with the inside still empty. 3. The bathing area is relatively small. And there are only two shower heads we could use, with very low pressure and dripping water, besides the larger water shower head for those who prefer cold water after bathing. The pressure was too low, and we could hardly wash our bodies to rinse off the soap. Nobody was washing their hair, and I couldn't wash mine either due to the amazingly TOO low pressure shower, which was rather dripping water from the showerhead. 4. Including the empty lotion in the powder room, their amenity inside had no label, only a self-posted "shampoo" label. It would have been nicer if we could have known what we were getting for our body, such as organic, vegan, not animal-tested, or a decent brand, etc. 5. During my two-hour stay, the cleaning person came inside the female bath area a few times to remove the used towels, but didn't care about cleaning other things inside. In such a small bathing space, there were about 20 used cups left all over, which was quite disturbing. 6. I know this is not their fault, but two young ladies inside KEPT talking for two hours quite loudly. At first, I thought I was being too sensitive, but when I moved to the sauna area, people inside whispered and complained about the chat noise they were making. I couldn't relax at all because of their private and personal stories about their work, guys they met, etc. In the end, I couldn't stop wondering if those types of young ladies are regular customers at Onsen. 7. This is the most disgusting part, which, as mentioned, I will never go back to this place. When I was getting ready to leave at the exit spot, I saw a cleaning person using the same wet cloth she had wiped the floor with, rubbing the used sandals they were providing to their guests. According to my common sense, those shared sandals/slippers are sanitized after each use, or if not, they are at least rinsed with hot water and soap, and possibly treated with a sanitizing spray. I've been to other spas in the city, like Pxxxx Spa, which constantly cleans the shared items, such as slippers, combs, and hair dryers. I didn't see any of those "caring" and "safe" considerations to maintain cleanliness for shared items for the guests at Onsen. Lastly, I felt like naming this place 'Onsen' is almost a big joke and an insult to real onsens in Japan, where we could relax in such a clean and pampering atmosphere in tranquility.

That was such a close call and I am grateful for Jenny & nice reception staff who took me seriously. The emotional intensity was real. Thank you Jenny!

Nobody asked for a Kabuki vs OnsenSF comparison, but here…read moreyou go. 1. $$$ Price Kabuki is $49/pp 2.5 hrs OnsenSF in the tenderloin is $50/pp 2 hours 2. Environment & Ambience: Kabuki has a much wider space, calming music, great ambience, wonderful smells and decor. OnsenSF is a dining space when you enter and spa in the back. Everything looks modern and nice, relaxing environment despite being located in the tenderloin. 3. Hot Tub: Kabuki has a rectangle shaped hot tub as opposed to OnsenSF's square shaped tub. 4. Cold plunge: Kabuki has a cold plunge that's perfect for people who don't need it to be extremely freezing. OnsenSF has a cold shower with many heads in place of a cold plunge. Both are enjoyable experiences 5. Steam Room: Kabuki's steam room is also rectangular as opposed to OnsenSF's square room. Kabuki's steam room also has a shower to rinse off excess salt and sweat before entering the common area. 6. Showers: At Kabuki, there's also a line of stools for the seated handheld showers where you can fill a tub of water and pour it over yourself in addition to the traditional shower stalls, where OnsenSF only has the traditional showers if I recall correctly. 7. Sauna: The sauna was great because you could adjust the heat by moving up the wooden bleachers. There was also plenty of space to stretch out and lie down. There were wooden half-cylinder blocks to place under the neck and back to promote blood flow. My partner's favorite standout was the salt scrub they have that's free to take at the refreshments table. You use it to scrub away dead skin in the shower and steam room. My favorite was the bowl of towels buried in ice cubes that helped me keep a cool head in the hot tub and sauna room. I will say that the thing that makes OnsenSF stand out is their dining pop-ups, but there's plenty of dining options on Fillmore and in Japantown. I would definitely go back to Kabuki again. The experience was incredibly relaxing. Highly recommend.

Possibly the best bathhouse in the Bay Area…read more Kabuki Springs is tucked away off a busy street in Japantown and feels like a portal to another dimension, one full of warm water, a quiet atmosphere, and plenty of lemon ginger tea. I was instantly drawn to how intentional everything feels here, from the dark wood of the sauna to the sleek tile in the showers. It feels carefully crafted to be both modern and timeless, with the Japanese motif flowing through all of the design. Personally, I love the dim lighting in the baths; with no windows, it feels like time is suspended. Is it midday, or midnight? Sunny, stormy? Early, late? You can't really tell when you're there, and that feels like the point. It's an escape in its truest, most relaxing sense. Attendants are constant in the baths, which makes it feel far more luxurious than what the price would suggest. Cucumber, lemon, or plain water are all on tap, as are iced hand towels, salt scrubs for the steam room, and hot lemon ginger tea. I loved how cups are encouraged to be reused (I hate seeing the giant pile of single-use cups in the trash at other spas). I'm holding out hope, however, that traditional green tea may make an appearance in the future! I'd recommend attending on one of the single-gender days, as I found that lent itself best to the fully immersive experience. Shower sandals are available, though I found them a bit uncomfortable. Next time I'll be sure to bring my own. As a bathhouse enthusiast, I cannot recommend this place enough. I can't wait to bring my friends here to learn for themselves just how relaxing and rejuvenating the sauna, steam, soak, and plunge rotation can be.

Both my friend and I asked for female masseurs but we were both offered a male masseur. No explanation was given for the discrepancy. This is most likely the admin issues. We didn't bring it up as both of us are okay with male masseur as well despite what we have requested. Asked for a deep tissue massage, but was provided a Swedish massage instead, so as my friend. The massage was not bad but I can tell that the masseur is quite green in massaging based on my massage experience. Mentioned the work needed most to work on before we started the session. I felt that the masseur was trying to cover his course of massage, may be with just spending very little extra time on the tight side as needed. When trying to loosen a knot, he would still use his elbow to just push through the knot over and over. Knot is still there. Imagine how uncomfortable it was. He didn't work on the pressure point or may not even notice where the tight area was. My body was not relaxed after the massage. With the high price of this place, I have high expectation but was very disappointed. I guess if you just want to have a relaxing time, it may work. But if you have areas to work on, it is not the place.
