Loved this peaceful sanctuary on Union Street in San Francisco. There are private rooms and community spaces (separated by a curtain) so if you are sensitive to noise, request a private room. Redmint is a new business that opened in October of last year during the COVID-19 pandemic. I completely understand the challenges that arise from a small business during a global pandemic. However, their business practices and administration are not up to par, and I would strongly recommend against this business. I also did not feel comfortable with their COVID-19 and general hygiene practices, and felt unclean / unsafe, particularly with unmasked individuals in their open spaces (the cafe barista is also the receptionist that does check-ins for the services, so there are many unmasked individuals enjoying their tea and coffee that they order at the cafe). It made me question the cleanliness of the acupunture as well if they do not monitor for COVID-19 risks in their general areas. There are so many great places to get acupunture, massages and facials-- go elswhere that will provide safe services. I may revisit them after the pandemic, but will avoid at all cost during COVID-19. read more

I was booked my appointment on their website, and it turned out my appointment is not booked. I am glad that I called before I go to confirm and there is a spot for me by that time. I mentioned I want to do acupuncture + neck& shoulder work at the phone. By the time I am here, they asked me again if I want to do something same as last time .... Definitely NO. I only confirmed the time that I want to do 85 mins , then I was grab and go to the spa room. And the lady started to massage me..... I was still concerning if she really knows what I was looking for.... Or at least she need to check for me about the pressure point or if I feel comfortable about the bed or anything. During the time, I was mention if she knows how to do the acupuncture, she said No but then she can ask someone to do it for me and help me make an appointment on that time. BUT I need to move to the next room what is the SAME. Like they really push me to wrap with a blanket and run to the next room which is super awkward even only few steps after I done my 85mins massage. For my previous experience, they really DO NOT know how to massage so please do not put authentic on your sign.... The guy who help me to do the acupuncture I can tell he knows what he is doing( sorry did not get his name but he is good) . NOW I know people should book whoever know how to do the acupuncture and let them do the massage, at least they have a license and got trained professional. Last but not least, I was trying to get a paper receipt and their machine is not working. He said he will send me a copy to my email, but I still did not receive it yet. How can I reach out? This review is for their facial services. It was the worst facial that I have ever had for $165. It's an absolute fraud. The massage element was longer than the actual facial time. There was nothing professional about the quality of the facial. The esthetician didn't seem to have much experience from her technique during the facial. I did look online before the appointment and asked the booking reception about bios for their esthetician's but they didn't seem to have any. Why? Are they even properly trained? Everything about the facial was just amateur. I can do a better job at home. I would highly not recommend going here for a facial. So disappointing. Their space even though looks amazing online is really tight for spacing and you can easily hear noises from the outside whilst you are having your treatment. So many other places in San Francisco that can offer you a better experience for a lower cost. read more

Liuhong offered to look at all my vital signs and different parts of my body while asking about my current life and stress points. I really wanted to love this place but it was disappointing. The design of the space was beautiful but did not lend well to the noise. I could hear people laughing and talking during my session. The massage itself was terrible. No technique and the masseuse had no knowledge of anatomy whatsoever. I asked for a deep tissue which translated into her using an elbow or forearm over my spine. I was extremely achy for two days. I could get a better experience at my local foot spa. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Dulce Dulce Dulce!!! I found the best Facialist in San Francisco, her name is Dulce. I've had many facials in my life as I have always struggled with acne. She has completely changed my skin. The service was paid for by this gift certificate, and I paid the tip - you have only refunded the tip, not the gift certificate. Not sure why this is so confusing. He and I have called several times, and no one has responded. * My phone number is correct, as I've received several missed calls from MarQuis and Stephanie (Redmint Management). My *area* code starts with a 6...it's a domestic number. Again, you are blatantly lying. * The room I was in did not have four walls - it had three -- only a curtain separated it from the hallway, which is why it was noisy. Regarding the notion that there were threats made (note the typo in their reply), I simply said I would share my horrible experience via a negative review if management didn't respond appropriately, which is exactly what occurred. Wow this spa is so nice!! I haven't gotten a massage since before March and it was so nice to have the first one here. They had a lot of procedures to make me feel safe during Covid. The place was spotless and staff so friendly and professional. They have this herbal tea bar at the front and then the rooms in the back. One of the best massages I have ever had. I injured my neck and shoulder area and have been in pain, and lacking sound sleep for a few months, and I am so glad that I found Redmint and Dr. Patricia!!! I have always been rather nervous about getting acupuncture and cupping, but due to my intense pain, I was opened to treatment, and Patricia made it very comfortable and stress-free. Redmint is truly a sanctuary. My massage + acupuncture session was very healing and I am looking forward to my next treatment! Redmint is a great place to relax. After a stressful week, I booked a treatment on a whim (same day appointment with easy online scheduling). The decor is lovely and tasteful. They also have a coffee bar. I got an herbal coffee that tasted great and was very soothing. I got an hour long skin treatment and it was delightful. I left feeling like a new and happier woman. Their products are inspired by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulas. As a long-time fan of TCM, it was wonderful to see. I ended up buying a facial cleanser, toner, and skin oil (though I never buy skincare products) because I liked them so much. I even started wearing sunscreen after going here because they taught me about its importance. read more

Just tried acupuncture for the first time in my life! Surprisingly it didn't hurt at all! I have this huge knot on my upper shoulder blade, think it was from years of carrying heavy laptop around. It comes and goes and whenever I carry something heavy, the pain would come back. I decided to give acupuncture a try and it really worked in relieving the pain! Patrica, my acupuncturist put the needles on my back and told me to rest. I fell into a deep sleep, I actually woke up first not even knowing where I was! I don't usually write reviews, but this one is especially deserved. I've only seen Liuhong so far, but she is amazing. She's an actual medical doctor from China, practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine in the US. The first time I saw her, she instantly diagnosed me with a serious medical condition, which my regular doctors had missed, but which they confirmed when I asked for the right testing based on Liuhong's suggestions. I'm incredibly grateful, and on my way to recovery based on a mix of western and eastern treatments. And I feel so much better after each session here. I was a big fan of the nearby Zazen spa, and really sad when it closed a few years back. Redmint also seems like a precious jewel, and I hope it has a long and successful life in the Cow Hollow neighborhood. The place has a beautiful spa ambiance, is easily accessible, near (paid) parking and bus stops, clean, friendly, professional, and most importantly, staffed with at least one (probably more) amazing practitioner. It also has discounted membership plans. I can't recommend it highly enough. read more
