The moment I walk in, I feel a sense of relaxation and calmness come over me. From the warm smile greeting you at the front desk, to the simplistic white/marble decor, to the spa-like smells - Dermaplus truly sets the tone for a relaxing afternoon. I get a Signature + Aquadermabrasion facial from Elaine. She is incredibly attentive and skilled! She always manages to get even the toughest extractions on my skin. I also love the massages she gives during the facial session. It completes the experience and makes it feel even more relaxing. Along with regular facials, I have been using Dermaplus' products which are clean and custom blended. I trust Dermaplus' quality and know I am putting top ingredients on my skin. She scheduled a follow up with m roommate to look and evaluate her work and make sure he was satisfied with everything, that really shows the level of professional care that Victoria has and the pride in her work that she has. I also follow a maintenance routine prescribed by my dermatologist and usually get facials periodically, so I came in specifically for a facial. Roxanne is a very pleasant woman and looks great, which naturally builds trust. We agreed on a deluxe facial. The experience itself was honestly fantastic. At one point, while I had a mask on and steam over my face, she was also massaging my hands and feet, which made the whole experience deeply relaxing. Physically, it was exactly what I needed. However, there were two important things that didn't sit right with me and are the reason I wouldn't come back. First, regarding the treatment itself: I expected the facial to include extractions, but it ended up being only chemical and ultrasonic cleansing, without manual extractions. This is important for me since I had some closed comedones. Maybe that was just a mismatch in expectations, which I can understand. What affected me much more was the second part. After the 1.5-hour treatment, when I was very relaxed, Roxanne offered me water, stepped out so I could get dressed, and then came back in to discuss "next steps." She asked about my current skincare, and I mentioned dermatologist-prescribed products (Differin and azelaic acid). She responded somewhat dismissively, saying something along the lines of "that's from the pharmacy, right? It's not as good as these..." and then started pulling out products she recommended instead. She then calculated everything on her phone and showed me a total of around $550, including the facial (about $215) and three products, each around $100. She mentioned there was a discount available right now and said there was "no pressure," but it definitely felt like a strong sales push. I'm not someone who makes quick purchasing decisions, especially not impulsively and not at that price point. In the past, I've appreciated when specialists recommend options in different price ranges or explain alternatives with similar active ingredients, so I can make an informed decision based on my budget. That didn't happen here, and the situation felt like aggressive upselling, especially right after such a relaxing treatment. I told her I wasn't planning on that kind of budget and needed time to think, and asked if I could take photos to research the products. She said she would send me links and asked that I purchase through her if I decide to go ahead, since she spent time explaining everything. I left feeling very mixed. Physically, I felt great, but emotionally I felt a bit drained. I understand everyone needs to make a living, but I really don't like aggressive sales tactics, especially during a first visit and when it comes with dismissing what already works for me. I don't have any negative feelings toward Roxanne personally, but I wouldn't choose to repeat this experience.

I've been seeing Valeriya for regular facials for over a year now, and I almost don't want to write…read morethis review because she's just so good at what she does I kind of want to gatekeep her! I started seeing her a year before my wedding with the goal of improving my overall skin texture, tone, and health. Besides being a master of her craft, Valeriya is just the sweetest, kindest, most patient person. She really takes the time to get to know you and your skin. Of course you have to go semi-consistently for this to really be possible, but consistency is key with anything skin-related, and patience too. The first time I saw her I did a Hydrafacial, but she recommended we switch to DMK and that's what we've been doing almost every session since (with a few chemical peels sprinkled in). Every time I see her she switches things up as needed based on what my skin needs that day. That's what I love about her--it's never one-size-fits-all with her treatments--she understands my skin and can predict what it needs and how it will react. She's also incredibly generous with her time and will respond to texts whenever I have had questions outside of our sessions--she truly cares about her clients and their outcomes. I've also done Aerolase laser treatments a couple of times to target stubborn cystic pimples and have had great results. Of course Valeriya doesn't do the laser herself, but her nurse Pearl is such a sweetheart as well and I love that her and Valeriya work together as a team to make sure their clients are getting the right combination of treatments to address their specific skin concerns. Valeriya is never pushy with products, but I have purchased and used many of the products she has recommended to me since I started working with her. Although not every single product has become a consistent staple in my skincare routine, the ones that have are products I am truly obsessed with and feel have made a massive difference in my skin since using them consistently. My skin was absolutely glowing on my wedding day and I give 90% of the credit for that to Valeriya, and only 10% to myself for being consistent with my skincare routine (that Valeriya created for me). There's no one I trust more with my skin, and I will be a client for life!

I was referred by my friend Carla who has been going here since it was Spa Belle Vie. She has her Facials and Detox Wraps with Sharon and did an 11-day detox, wow, I noticed how great her skin was looking, it was glowing and she appeared to have lost a few pounds from the detox. I asked her what she had been doing and when she told me, I had to try this place! I went in for Microderm Facial with Sharon and was amazed at how much smoother my skin felt for days after. In addition, my blackheads were gently extracted, the neck/shoulder massage was incredibly relaxing and the mask she used was like no other I've had. She layered a couple of masks and it peels off, my skin felt hydrated and I found that glow that my friend has. I'm hooked and joined their Wellness Program. The following week I felt in need of a full body massage but Sharon wasn't available. I booked with Ashley and was again impressed. Really excellent pressure, she worked all the tension out of my shoulders, back, and gluts and I didn't want to get out of their heated beds. I'm thinking of trying the Detox Wrap after Thanksgiving. Lastly, I bought the Nourish "elixir" from their Cinq Mondes line - a French organic skin care line, they actually carry a couple of French lines and everything in the treatment smells and feels great. This product though is like nothing else I have and seems to hydrate my skin as the winter weather has rolled in. I've been going to Sharon for massage every 4-8 weeks for the past 4 years. Being in my line of work requires those tense muscles to be worked on to prevent injuries and I always feel ten times better and more relaxed when I leave. It's the best maintenance program to invest in. When I've waited too long, I've also gone to Nakia for the Sports/Deep Tissue, she's a petite woman but don't let that deceive you - she works on athletes most of the time. In addition, I've started having facials every 3-4 months. I normally wouldn't admit to it, but the reality is, if you haven't taken care of your skin (as most guys don't), you will find that you need to do something too as you get closer to 40. Now I understand why people get facials. It's pretty relaxing having your face massaged, neck and shoulders massaged, seeing all the blackheads gone, not to mention my skin looks more hydrated and lines a little less visible. I recently visited this place based on its almost 5-star reviews. While the facialist was very nice and knowledgeable, my experience did not live up to my expectations. I went in wanting microneedling and extraction, but was convinced to do microdermabrasion and a peel with extraction instead. Unfortunately, I saw no visible impact from either - didn't even peel a little - and felt like the facialist was more focused on upselling me than helping me. Additionally, I was disappointed that she forgot to do manual extraction in my nose and cheek pores area. Overall, my experience was not worth the high rating I had read about. While the woman was nice, I felt like I didn't get the level of service or outcome I was hoping for. I visited Serenity spa during my trip to SF from HK. I had a treatment with Kimberly, and she is absolutely fantastic, attentive and professional. Originally from Korea, I have high standards when it comes to facial, and Kimberly was absolutely heavenly. She looks at your skin and see what's exactly needed and provides different approaches, methods, tools and techniques to different areas. Had the best massage - Aromatouch therapy massage with 8 essential oils puts your body back in homeostasis. 80 minutes and I felt like I could easily do another hour! I've been going here for years and everyone's been great. I've also had the anti-aging facial and fine lines do reduce along with noticeably more firmness, less puffiness. My husband said Rafael did what he could but unfortunately did not get most of his knots out. When he got home, I massaged his back and was surprised with the amount of knots he still had. It was as if he never got his deep tissue massage. I'm deeply saddened because my husband still ended up paying out of pocket (expensive massage) and he did not feel relaxed after. On top of that, my husband sends me pictures of the locker room that was under construction and said guys were going on and out while he was changing. Very disappointing experience compared to the many other massage spots in SF.

There's public parking within a block and a half away. The lobby is clean, from the moment we arrived they were ready to welcome us in. They sat us down, gave us a run down of what was to come and gave us slippers to wear. I choose to go with the sports massage. I needed a deep tissue massage to get rid of a few knots and some muscle pain I been dealing with in lower back. My masseur did not disappoint. He found my knots and didn't stop till the knots were gone. The service was great! As I mentioned earlier from the moment we arrived, they welcomed us and made us feel at peace. We were a few mins late, that didn't top them, they were friendly and ensured we were comfortable with the process. Overall, I totally recommend their service and will go back.

I'm very particular about the areas I need focused on, and the masseuses here really find all the right spots every time. The first time, I got their Thai fusion massage. They really dug deep into my tissues and worked through my whole body from head to toe. This time, I wanted something more relaxing since we were going to dinner after, so they recommended the classic Swedish massage, and it was perfect! Just the right amount of pressure and exactly what I needed that day. I was so relaxed I actually fell asleep too! Both times we booked the Couples Retreat for $235, which is such a great deal. Highly recommend doing this with your partner or even your best friend! The only small thing I'd mention is that I wish there was a separate waiting area apart from the lobby, but it's not a big deal at all considering the experience overall. Love the tea and chocolate they give after :)

The massage rooms are very comfortable and relaxing. Great space. I love to get Thai massages as they always make me feel so much better. And was happy a new place opened in the neighborhood. It's super easy to book online and they have many different massage options. I did the head, neck, and back one the first time and then a regular Thai massage the second time. Both were wonderful. I will definitely be back for more in the near future!

Kaya Release Thai Massage is located conveniently on Union Street on the basement level of a building. The inside is clean and inviting. As soon as I entered, I was greeted and offered water immediately. They'll have you swap your shoes for the indoor slippers they provide. The restroom was also very clean. In general, the inside had a calm and relaxing atmosphere. My massage with Mai was amazing! She got right into the areas that were tensed up. I'm very happy with my experience. Once you're outside the building take the stairs downstairs to the basement, don't go up. There's a little sign on the street level by the stairwell that's easy to miss. I'm canceling ClassPass and used up the rest of my credits for this (38 credits), and was so bummed to learn how expensive the massages are regularly .. way out do my budget unfortunately given I get massages once a week. Highly recommend otherwise!

My face looks more lifted, less swollen, and my jawline appears more defined after the treatment. The scalp and facial treatment is very relaxing, and I always leave feeling refreshed and lighter. The staff are kind, professional, and make me feel comfortable from beginning to end. Good, but not great…read more The space is more aesthetic and felt upscale, but the service itself didn't quite live up to the setting. I booked the 150-minute Yeoun Ritual (about $400 before tip, plus a $20 long-hair surcharge) as an early birthday treat. While it was relaxing overall, the actual head spa experience didn't compare to others I've had. I appreciated the lymphatic component, and the light facial massage portion was lovely. The shampoo was also extremely thorough, and my therapist was kind, attentive, and never made me feel rushed. She clearly cared about providing a good experience. That said, there was surprisingly little actual head massage--very little focus on pressure points or scalp massage, and none of the waterfall-style rinse that many other head spas offer. For the price, I also expected a private treatment room, but the service takes place in a shared room separated only by curtains. Despite the background music, I could clearly hear conversations from the neighboring station, and the therapist next to me even answered a phone call on speaker during my treatment, which was distracting and honestly pretty surprising for a premium experience. Overall, the experience simply didn't justify the price tag for me. If you're on the Peninsula like I am, I don't think it's worth making the trip into San Francisco for this service. There are several Asian-style head spas on the Peninsula that may not have the same polished aesthetic, but they deliver a much more authentic head spa experience, with more emphasis on scalp massage, pressure points, and traditional techniques.
