We've used Redmond Handyman Services a handful of times now over the past 1-2 years, and Bill and his team (his wife and son!) have consistently delivered an amazing service and work product. We recently had them do, among other things, some drywall work, painting, security camera and Nest thermostat installation, mounting/hanging and wiring (behind walls) of a TV, adjustments to uneven and sticky doors throughout the home, repair of a non-functioning power washer, and work on a leaky toilet (again, among other things). Their range is impressive, and their craftsmanship is top notch. VERY high quality, high-grade professional work product. They even bring all of the necessary tools and materials to support whatever the need is, including materials for painting, etc. Very low lift for us as the consumer -- we really didn't have to lift a finger. The best part? All of them are incredible human beings, who are very easy to work with. Their customer service is great -- we provided our requests and instructions, and they ran with things from there and delivered exactly as we had asked. I am extremely pleased with the results and the overall experience. Responsive. Right after I sent an email to Bill with the paint codes, he replied and followed up with a phone call. They dropped by that Friday afternoon to assess the situation. Great attention to detail. I learned for example that you don't want vertical seams lining up. Quick but thorough. They found an exact replacement, and had the paint mixed that same weekend. I can't recommend Bill enough. Although he wasn't able to come the first day we'd arranged, he let me know early enough that we were able to schedule a time suitable for both of us. Bill and his helper arrived right on time and got right to work fixing our very jammed pocket door. He found that the workers who built our house had installed a towel bar with screws that were too long and had been scratching the door, so he removed the towel bar and reinstalled it with more appropriate fasteners. He fixed the pocket door, replacing the single track with a double track. It now opens and closes more easily than ever. He also quickly repaired a sliding shower door for us, possibly saving the cost of replacing it. Bill and Emick (sorry if I got your name wrong) were friendly yet professional, worked quickly but were careful to make sure things were tidy when they left, even to the point of rehanging pictures I'd removed to be safe. The final charge was exactly what he'd estimated on the phone before he came out and worth every penny for what he accomplished. Update: Bill has quickly made his work right by me. I appreciate the proactive customer care and outreach. In addition to making good on his work below, he's also, and more importantly, informed me that he's not going to offer electrical work as part of his services going forward. That struck me as a very honest assessment of a mistake and I appreciate his willingness to swallow his pride and do his best to make it right in a quick way. I'd work with Bill for other general handyman work in the future. Original review: I hate to leave a bad review (check my history) but I just can't recommend Bill to others, specifically for electrical work. I had him come out to install a double wall oven (I wasn't comfortable doing the 220V wiring). He was plenty friendly and I liked that he brought his son with him to help out. Came on time and stuck to the budget, but when he wired up the oven, it gave an error reading "bad line." I was bummed but assumed it was an issue with the line from the box to the wall. He suggested that one of the lines wasn't testing correctly and that was probably the problem. He suggested I replace the breaker, which I did, but had the same error. Well, I was bummed to be out the $250 and STILL not have an oven but Bill had done his work as agreed upon and I figured I couldn't blame him for wiring that wasn't his fault. Well, flash forward a few weeks when I could finally get an electrician out (Derek with Alive Electric - HIGHLY recommend). Derek took one look and said, "there's your problem, your guy wired the wrong lines together." Within 10 min, he rewired it, replaced my breaker (which he said is very very rarely ever going to be a problem) and told me I was lucky that newer ovens can detect that sort of issue because it very well could have fried my oven. Yikes. $150 for that visit and I was a happy camper, ecstatic to have an oven. Anyway, I'm sure Bill does generally good work based on all the positive reviews (he did leave some dust but generally cleaned up after himself) but if he's not educated on wiring appliances it would be good for him to just not take the job, rather than risk a customer's $1500 oven. Lesson learned for me and the silver lining is that I now have my go-to electrician in the area. read more

I had lost a piece of siding on my roof. I tried to get up there to reach it but it was just outside of my reach. I texted with him, sent a few photos, and agree on a price. It was POURING rain and the wind was blowing when he arrived (as promised, in an hour or less) but he not only did the job... he put in a little extra to improve the quality of the work. Highly recommend. Reasonable, quick, and above all HONEST. After paying him, he decided he'd charged me a little too much and gave me money back!!! Who does that? An honest person that's who. Before I put my condo on the market last May, I wanted to replace the worn, 25 year old kitchen sink. Bill did an excellent job installing a new stainless steel sink in just over 2 hours and his estimate was quite accurate. I sent a few pictures of the old sink area to Bill at his request, and he identified what extra parts I might need: adapters for the water lines. Before he even got the job, he spent a fair amount of time trying to track them down at local hardware and plumbing stores, and when he found out no one in the area had the right parts in stock, he provided me with an Amazon link so I could order the part myself. Communication was top-notch throughout, and the installation went smoothly despite the sink arriving slightly warped on one edge and the cutout on the countertop not being big enough. Bill tackled these problems with ease. His thorough explanations and calm demeanor helped give me the confidence to install an undermounted sink at my new home just a few months later! Since then he's helped me solve problems via email and provided valuable advice that has saved me time and money. This pretty much ticked all the boxes of a 5 star experience. My work involved was the removal of a microwave that was funkily and badly installed by the previous homeowner, and the installation of my new microwave: 1) Bill had a sudden opening the next day, so I was able to get in his queue right away. 2) He was prompt and on time. He was able to complete the work in the time allotted even though he found some surprises as he was taking out my old microwave. 3) He completed the work within the quote he gave me over the phone (~$240 incl tax). I had thought that this job might be originally more expensive due to the uncertainty of how the previous owner installed this microwave. 4) He and his wife Natasha are super nice, and they were great to my kids and my cat. Excellent work from Bill this week. His is very professional, efficient, friendly, timely, and communicates great over the phone and via text. He worked two part days this week for me fixing 4 folding closet doors and 1 pocket door...all had there own problems and Bill was great at problem solving them all. He also trimmed a laundry room door down so it fits and re-did the caulking in a bath/shower. He saved me from the leak that was slowly worsening...he took the time to also tighten the handles and all hardware on the doors with out my requesting it...I really appreciated it. He left no mess and was very careful in my house...He did great work and I will be hiring him again soon to do more of the jobs we just can't seem to get to or are way too much work and require too many trips to home depot for. I understand there is no obligation to provide explanation, but, it certainly wouldn't hurt your business.
