There are some good guys out there who charge so little I would give them extra more money out of guilt. They charge like $45 until they get the job done. No hourly crap like these chains. This place drags booty to eat up more time to overcharge. And it's over $125 an hour. That time runs quickly. Of course those good local guys are booked up so I had to resort to using this franchise outfit. If you want to just get something done for a one time thing and you don't mind getting soaked this one time do it. But unless you're rich don't use this company more than once. read more

We called their office and spoke with a nice employee that took our information. We have two windows that needed repairs. I explained the windows were on the 2nd and 3rd floors and would require ladders to get to them. The employee said the ladders were not a problem and gave us an estimate of $300.00. I pointed out the 3rd floor window was 30ft up and she said it's not a problem. They sent a guy out and he took a look at the windows and said that he wouldn't be able to do the job. He said he had fallen off a ladder awhile back and no longer works on ladders. He said he would talk to his boss and they would send someone else out. I wondered why they sent someone who doesn't work on ladders to a job that I made clear would require ladders. A few days passed and I did not hear back from Ace Handyman Services. So I called and spoke to the same employee that set up my appointment and gave me an estimate. I explained what had happened with the employee that doesn't work on ladders and that I was supposed to be getting a call back. She said she would speak to the boss and that I would get a call back that afternoon. No call came. The next day I called again during working hours and no one answered. I left a voicemail and requested a call back. No call came. It's become obvious that they don't want the job. It's one thing if they just don't want the job, but they should at least do me the courtesey of telling me they don't want the job. Instead they left me hanging and wondering what is going on? Avoid this company!! They work the clock and do not guarantee their services. They charge almost $200 an hour. They installed insulation against code and now that it's all on the ground, they refuse to fix it. If you are a contractor and can be you own site supervisor, you might be able to get good work from them. Otherwise, stay away. Safehome Resource is a reliable company who can solve your problems quickly and for a reasonable price. I had two people in different rooms doing the same job in different ways. There is no oversight. Ace has no accountability and very low business ethic. Ace came quickly which is in their plus column. I asked them to take care of some drywall repairs and to install a new thermostat. They did both quickly. The following day, I saw that the drywall was not adequately repaired. They sent someone out that day to fix the problem. However, the thermostats were not working properly. We called our HVAC service to come out and check the system. We were amazed and angry to find out that the upstairs thermostat was not working correctly and that the thermostat was wired backwards. My husband and I called Ace Handyman Service's the other day and we were in need of someone to put up our porch swing that had been sitting in our dining room put together for 5 weeks. I talked to Crystal on the phone and she was so nice and really wanted to help us. She quoted me a price and I told her I would talk it over with my husband and get back to her. I was so surprised there was not a long wait. She even told me that they would be able to come out Thursday in the afternoon which was only like two days from when I had called. I called her back within 15 minuites and told her we wanted someone to come. The two young men came yesteday and they did a GREAT JOB. They even had to run for some parts and even made two trips because where we got the chain it was not long enough. We just may have some jobs in the future for them.
