I would not call this a law firm but more of a circus act and the…read morering leader is the so called attorney the unprofessional ism and incompetence of these people is unimaginable i could not tell you because it would not sound believable but i am writing this review in hopes that others see that they are just taking peoples money here, they agreed and settled with the insurance company without my knowledge or consent and when i called and filed a grievance on her with the bar associations she offered me more money to keep quiet, the thing is i still have not been paid and have been given the run around for two yrs now, the bills that were supposed to be reduced by her employees request , well that was never done i was able to get one reduced on my own but her and her staff have done nothing to even deserve a fee and when you call them they are rude to you when they finally get back with you.

I had a case of Assault - Bodily Injury (never been in trouble a day in my life) and Nancy Botts who handled my case did absolutely NOTHING in court for the amount of money I paid her. I paid a cash bond to get a court date which was the arraignment and when the date came, I seen a BIG red flag about Nancy who lied and withheld information from me. I should have walked away then but me always trying to see good in people I decided to go forth. Second court date came court began at 9:30, Nancy called me while still in the uber at 9:32 stating I am just going to sign paperwork and do an online course, and my case will be dismissed. Not realizing until I started reading the agreement it was a pretrial intervention not what I wanted or was looking forward too and Nancy never explained that it was a PTI, just baited me to sign paperwork for easy money. I feel like I was scammed. I arrived at court 15 minutes late because of uber. Nancy tells lies for a living, so she lied to her client and didn't inform me of nothing that happened while I wasn't there in court. Nancy never showed me any video evidence , she never spoke to me about my options, never fought for me as her client and just settled for easy money and made a poor decision on my behalf while I was not yet in court. She began to become very rude with and spoke to me very harsh. Had I would have known she was a court appointed attorney I would have never hired her. Please stay away from hiring Nancy, she will not go the extra mile for a dismissal and I regret I hired her and would have paid Mr. Sullivan whatever he asked for a dismissal which is the reason I called him in the first place because of the awesome reviews. Sorry this wasn't a review for Mr. Sullivan and my success story I would have had with him. :-(

When reaching out about a probate matter, I was referred to Cherika Edwards. I called seeking legal advice and was unsure how best to handle the matter. I was told it was a $250 consultant fee. The reception assured me that it goes towards the legal cost but didn't ask if I couldn't use a lawyer for legal services when that money was refunded. I was unsure if I needed the benefits and what the cost would be to represent on behalf of a mother who didn't have a will. The lawyer contacted me, and we spoke for 10 minutes only to tell me it was $4000 for representation--that $25 minutes money I don't have due to the planning of my mother's funeral. What I found out after research most lawyers don't charge a consultation fee. Her website doesn't state that a $250 payment is associated with the consultation. The worse part is I emailed the office to least ask for half my money back or get an explanation; of course, no response. So unless you are sure to use Ms. Edwards's services, I would consult with other lawyers about legal matters for free for the initial consultation. This issue people have with lawyers is they are more interested in making money than serving their clients, and this is true and how I felt in regards to her practice. Go with another lawyer who won't take advantage of you and give you the option and a feel of what it would be like to represent you.

An ugly divorce from a physically abusive husband, who had convinced me to give up my career and be a stay at home mom, ultimately drove me from my home. The whole divorce process was manipulated because he withheld and hid my money and property. Without funds, I could not obtain adequate representation. To say I took a beating is an understatement. All contacts after the divorce were battles. Ultimately, my X entrapped me with the local Barry Fife Police Department when I let him know we were coming over to pickup a necklace for my son. He frantically called 911 claiming I was beating on windows, verbally abusing him and treating him bodily harm, even before I arrived. I had just pulled up and was still sitting in the car with my son, when a Nassau Bay Police officer arrived and proceeded to pull me from the car, cuffed me and charged me with two felonies. No witnesses, just my X's word. Guess it helps to be bud's with the mayor. Having no money, I was in a spot. I finally had a recommendation to my first attorney, who said he would take my case, but wanted all his fees up-front. I sold personal property and paid him everything I could afford to start the case. He then would not return calls, nor make time to discuss the case and always rushing away after court. Finally had to fire him, because all he would do was reset my case. When I obtained my file from him, the only things in it were green slips. NOTHING else. Next up was a public defender. My only advise is: DON'T. I don't have time, I don't believe you and why don't you take the plea bargain were her only don't of wisdoms. Leaving court for the last time with the don't woman, I by chance ran into Rick Oliver in the lobby. I had known him as a child and instantly recognized him. As we talked, we discussed why I was there and what was happening. He immediately took interest. He asked questions and asked if my present attorneys had done any of several things he offered. The answers were all no, they had not done any of those things. He was very generous with his time and very perceptive in his questions. Finally he told me he was an attorney and would be willing to help if he could. I got a loan from my parents and hired him immediately. Working with Rick was a dream come true. He is smart. He is kind. And he was interested in the case and willing to stand up for me when no one else would. Every time we talked, he had new information and new perspective. He did the research and he investigated. And he investigated. And he investigated. Every time he talked to the DA, he was tearing down their case. If my X and his lawyer had not been continually pushing the DA's office, I believe the case would have been dropped. But he did and they didn't. Finally we got to court. The last offer of a plea bargain, the last chance before trial. Rick and I reviewed all the facts. We talked. He shared more findings he had just uncovered. His empathy and professionalism were outstanding. I really trusted him with my life. With a deep breath I said, let's go to trial, no deal.
