I retained them to assist my brother in seeing his son the Attorney is now nonexistent and the legal assistance received prior to retaining is something you could get from a Google search. They keep taking funds from my card, but refuse to show me any proof of any action taken on my brother's case. One of the worst companies I have ever trusted in, is Edward Law Group . I walked in the door. They charged me up instantly every call. Every email was charged they would call me I would not make a call and they still would charge me. They change my lawyer in the very beginning and everything that he told me I got charged for they gave me a new lawyer and he told me the same thing. The last Lawyer told me and they also charged me up for him too. Then I had a third lawyer who told me the same thing. The first two lawyers told me and they charge me up for that as well. This place scammed me out of thousands of dollars it took 2 1/2 years just to do a default divorce.. the communication between client and Lawyer is poor. They only called when they wanted money. My case was always pushed to a new lawyer, every two or three months. This is not the place to trust in. Please do not make the mistake I made and give these people your money. Over 1 year ago I got into some trouble related to family violence. I hired Edward Okwueze because he was the 1st and only attorney who contacted me via phone right after I was released from jail. In the few minutes that we were on the phone, he talked a good talk. Being a law-abiding citizen myself who had never been in trouble with the law before, I was scared and desperate to seek legal counsel. I did not have much experience dealing with attorneys, so I believed him when he promised to have my case dismissed by the 1st court appearance. I immediately gave him my credit card over the phone so he could charge $5,000 on my card. It seemed like a lot to me, but I was desperate and scared. When my first court appearance came, a young attorney showed up virtually in court. She had never even discussed my case with me. She knew absolutely nothing about my case. So that day in court instead of getting my case dismissed like I had been promised, I got an ankle monitor put on me because the prosecutor had a lot to say, and my so-called attorney had absolutely nothing to say in my defense because she knew nothing about my case. Later I came to find out through a wonderful attorney I hired after I fired the Edward Law Group that she had only been out of law school 8 months, and not just that, but I learned that attorneys are not supposed to cold call people to seek their business. This case went on for 8 months with the Edward Law Group. The case just kept on getting reset month after month. This law group is only out for your money. They don't care about their clients. On Friday 7/2/22, I sent the attorney a text message about my case. Her reply was, "Hi, I am no longer with the law firm, please contact the office to ask about this." You would think someone would have called me to inform me that my attorney was no longer my attorney because she doesn't work there anymore. So I called the office and I emailed. Over a week later someone finally called me just to tell me that my case would be reset, and another attorney would contact me. Eventually, they said my only hope was to file for a pretrial intervention and say that I was guilty even though I was innocent. It was at this time that I knew the Edward Law Group had taken advantage of me. They took my $5,000 for nothing. THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR ME. It was worse than nothing because their attorney pressured me to confess in writing that I committed a crime which I did not do in order to get a PTI. It was not until after I fired them that I began reading their Google reviews and learned that I'm not the only one who they took advantage of. I don't understand why attorneys like Edward Okwueze can take advantage of people knowing very well they have no intention of helping them. This is my first review of as many as I can place publicly, throughout the different formats available, to try and warn as many people as possible, to stay as far away as possible from this law firm. In my opinion, they are crooks; aren't truly interested in helping at all, and at the beginning, will sweet talk you, and say whatever they can, just to get you to sign up with them; But beware, once you've signed up, they will eventually, try to do whatever they can to extort money from you, as they have done to me. I originally hired them a year ago in March for a divorce case. After speaking with them, they told me that they would charge me a total of $2,500 for the entire case. In addition to that, they explained to me that I would be responsible for a separate Ad Litem Attorney fee, which I agreed to. We came to an agreement of payment arrangements for the $2,500, which I paid in full. They sent me a contract in spanish, which I signed, thinking that what was verbally agreed to, was what I was signing (apparently that was not the case). During the first 3 months, there was minimal contact on their behalf. I contacted them multiple times, asking them about the status of my case. Every time I spoke with someone, I would have to give them the full rundown of my case, because no one seemed to know any details about it; even though I explained everything during my initial consultation. On top of that, during this timeframe (I really want to say it was more like withing the first 5 months), I had my case assigned to 3 different attorneys within that law firm, and had to repeat all of details of my case each and every time, like I was a new client. Once there appeared to be some movement on my case, I get called (borderline harassment) by their billing department, telling me that I had to pay them more money. I went back and fourth with them, telling them that I had already paid them in full, based on the initial verbal agreement that we had. But they kept on insisting and harassing me, that I needed to pay them more money. It came down to them telling me that they would drop my case if I didn't pay them more money. So based on my experience, I told them, that I would report them to the Better Business Bureau, the Texas Bar association, the local news media, and any other means that I could think of, for their misleading and malpractice conducts. Afterwards, their customer service manager, reached out to me, to ask me what had transpired, and to try to work with me, to try and resolve my issues. However, they told me that if I were to write negative reviews against them, that they would definitely drop my case, because it would be a conflict of interest. Imagine that. A law firm, that claims, on their website, to work with "INTEGRITY", Threatening a client to drop their case, for writing an honest negative review based on his experience! In my opinion, that alone should be enough to cause an investigation by the Texas Bar, as that to me seems unethical. But, I had already paid them, and did not want to lose out on the hard earned money give to them. So I accepted there agreement, where I would pay them an additional $250. Dollars a month, because that is all that I could afford. Beside the fact, that I had already paid them, what was initially agreed upon. So I paid them for $250. a month for about 4 months. That is an extra $1,000 More, than what we had originally, verbally agreed upon. And on top of that, what they claimed I still owed them, was growing... So just last week, their billing department called me again, and told me that I had to pay more than the agreed upon $250 month. My finances just would not allow for it. I was barely struggling to pay them the extra $250. a month. So then they told me that they if I did not increase my monthly payments, that they were going to stop working on my case. Come to find out a week later, they put in a petition with the court, for them to drop my case. After we had an initial verbal agreement. After I paid them in full. After I paid them an extra $1,000 more than what was verbally agreed upon, they put in a motion to drop my case, because, I would not let them extort money from me, just as my case was finally coming to an end. I am sure that I probably lost my hard earned money, and will eventually have to start from scratch to get my divorce case resolved. And while that is unfortunate, what I can control, and what I can do, is write this complaint, and share it with as many platforms possible, to warn people, to stay as far away as possible from this law firm. Again, they may try to sweet talk you, into signing with them, but believe me, once they try to extort money from you, the same way that they tried with me, you will regret it. But by the then, it will be too late. Stay away from this law firm! read more

I had been working with this law group since December of last year. Their lack of morals and good judgement stand out exceedingly. All I wanted was my lost time for wages and my hospital bill taken care of. They promised me the world and delivered nothing. Now it's August and they want to drop my case with not even an explanation. I wasn't the greedy one. All I wanted was what was fair and owed to me. I wouldn't even recommend them to my worse enemy. Alma the parrelegal is located in San Antonio, would call text her email week after no response contacted supervisor again she called me within five minutes her excuse was she didn't check her phone. So much stress nothing done made me cancel everything that day Alphonsus replied to my emails like he had never done. This place is so unorganized, I paid them money back in October 2022 and not a single thing has been done on my case. 8 months all I get is my case being transferred to different paralegals that have no idea what they are doing. All you will get with this law firm is getting bounced around from person to person, with nobody communicating with you about anything. Nothing ever gets done. It's been 4 months since my moms car accident, a lady here that's the lawyers assistant took our case and made my mom go to therapy for months, get MRI's, blood work, etc. This month one of the lawyers ASSISTANT (a man) called my mom and said that the Lawyers assistant (lady) is leaving the case, did not explain why or anything, she did not notify anything to my mother. My mom has messages of her texting the lawyers assistant (lady) and she never replies back, and when she does she says " I'm in court, call you later" and never ends up calling back, honestly the lack of communication, respect, and professionalism is absurd. We were told that we were gonna receive a letter from the Lawyer dismissing the case and have not gotten it yet, it's been over a week. We've tried contacting the lady (lawyers assistant) and NOTHING. This was a waste of time and energy. People like this should not be working here, save your time people. read more
