Hi Guys, I want to join a fitness club but I struggle working out with a mask on!…

Hi Johnny, thank you for reaching out! We understand that working out with a mask on can be challenging. We are and will continue to follow Los Angeles County COVID regulations which requires masks indoors. This is especially important in a fitness…

It was not a clear establishment like OTF or F45. The class I took was on a Wednesday and it was only two of us. The workout was fine, but it defeated the purpose of attending a group workout which is how this was advertised. The coach was friendly but not motivating at all. All the marketing and promo is very misleading. Not returning.

In the beginning Steve was very friendly and none stop communication until I decided to try his gym. Prior to signing up, I discussed that I wanted to train 4x a week with him before he passes me on to other people. So I signed up and paid $1200 ( waste of money) thinking i would train 4x as week with him. The next day I showed up Steve was there and no communication of who I was meeting, I ended up training with a 22 years "actor" who has zero interest in my fitness goals, but just there to do the job. It was impossible to train with anyone as everyone was busy with their clients and such. I didn't even get to use my 16 sessions leaving me owed 5. It was literally a scam of $1200 for believing him. And after that first initial meeting, I never heard from him or saw him. But he happened to be on Grindr recruiting next victims. Be careful when you signed up and never believe their 4 star reviews as it is shit show in there. He tent to hire "actors and artists who has zero experience in training but happened to use them and it's really sad. Don't believe me. I have receipts .

I've literally never written a review before, but this was the weirdest worst workout class…read moreexperience I've ever had. I've done almost every studio in LA and NYC and work out 5-6 times a week, and feel pretty well-versed in the LA workout scene. (Tracey Anderson, Silver Springs, Barrys, Heated Room, etc etccc). so I feel like I can confidently say this was not right... like something is so off about this place I walk in, and they show me around, point out the amenities, but then tell me I can't use the locker room because it's for members only. Okay... fine. I go into the waiting area, and even though the class is listed as 10:45 AM, it doesn't actually start until 10:58 AM. We're all just sitting there on our mats waiting. Then the instructor (who is the owner) walks in without saying a single word and literally just starts working out full speed ahead. No intro, no warm-up, no cues, no hi, just starts like full workout mode in the mirror facing herself - just loud music and silence from her like she has a mic on but isn't actually using it. Maybe she was saying something, but the music was so loud you wouldn't know. I left the room not knowing what her voice sounds like.. Then, a girl with a camera walks in, records her for 10 seconds, and leaves. What?? That was strange, but okay. The class keeps going--still no cues, no counting, no nothing and every few minutes, this camera girl comes back to film her again. You never do a move for more than 5 seconds, so you just have to watch her in the mirror to even know what's going on. It felt less like a workout class and more like we were just there to watch her work out. Otherwise, why would there be no cues, no corrections, no countdowns... and a camera girl filming her the whole time Oh, and there was a full-on ring light set up in front of her to make sure she had good lighting for these video clips. All this for a $40 class?? Am I the only one who thinks this is weird?? I read a lot of reviews before going, and now I'm genuinely wondering if I missed something or what...

Last year I stopped my renewal subscription half way through the year on my iTunes app. Jan 1 2025- I had a charge from LEKfit for $439.99 for a recurring payment. I contacted through email on Jan 6 when I noticed the charges- thinking okay no big deal Im sure they will refund me, because this was a mistake. Nope- I have been corresponding over email for a week now with not much help, except then saying this is their policy- and I must have a email confirmation of cancelled services - which I have from my app only. Anyways , they won't refund me my money- even though I contacted them just days after charges. You would think they would have a grace period, or something prorated, or even a notification that you have an upcoming recurring charge. I guess this is how they run their business , and needless to say they have lost a long term customer.

I've been going to Surfcore Fitness for about two years now, and it's hard to overstate what this…read morecommunity has meant to me. I've been to a lot of gyms in LA over the years and was used to working out alone -- but I realized I missed having people to share the journey with. I came to Surfcore at a point in my life when I knew I needed to make some real changes to my health, and Carlos and Jose were so supportive and encouraging. After my first year, I got a clean bill of health from my doctor, and they genuinely celebrated that with me. Through the six-week challenges and all the day-to-day workouts, I've learned how to better balance my eating, my fitness, and my mindset. The workouts are tough but fun, and the people are what make it special. It's supportive, hilarious, and full of good energy. I've made real friends here -- something that's hard to do as an adult in L.A. And honestly, I really appreciate talking both workout shop and sharing the latest tea at Diva Fridays. Sadly, I had to move out of the area and I really miss my routine with the crew. Surfcore had become my third space -- a place between work and home where I felt grounded and supported by friendly folk. Truly one of a kind.

A very long overdue review for our beloved community gym!! My husband and I started at Surfcore…read moreAugust 2023, as we wanted to get into shape before our wedding. Our goal for joining the gym was to just get into better shape, but we didn't have any other expectations. We came out of it not only looking our best on our wedding day ;) but also became a part of the most supportive community of friends and people from all walks of life! Everyone at the gym is so welcoming, and we love the ALOHA spirit and vibes. The gym is run by two passionate (& extremely fit) owners, Carlos & Jose. They are not only our trainers, but true community leaders that always show up and do their best to make us feel comfortable and supported as gym members. They truly go ABOVE & BEYOND to make each member feel welcomed, and are always offering guidance even outside of the gym settings. In regards to the workouts, they are definitely tough! But not in an intimidating way. Carlos and Jose work with you to make sure that you can safely perform the routines, while also knowing when to push you to challenge yourself. As someone who's time is limited, I appreciate that these workouts are efficient and effective, and I always feel productive after the 45 min session (and oftentimes sore for days - the good kind of sore). I definitely value the variety of HITT workouts, which alternate between upper and lower body and continue to be a challenge for me even after 1.5 years. Since joining Surfcore, I've felt so much stronger and actually have more definition to my arms/back, and more !! Additionally, as someone in the healthcare field, and specifically working in a weight loss clinic, I can confidently tell you that my experience with patients on weight loss drugs (i.e.GLP-1 agonists), see the best results in their body and form when they combine their medication with weight-bearing exercises (basically all the Surfcore workouts). PSA to anyone who is on GLP-1's, you can lose up to 30% of your muscle mass if you are NOT combining it with a structured exercise routine! Logistics- My initial question when I first found them through a google search was "how's the parking situation??" Parking is accessible and free! Such a rarity on this side of LA. The biggest bang for your buck is signing up for their monthly membership to get unlimited access to all their classes. My personal focus was going to the group classes, but Surfcore also offers other opportunities for working out, including their barbell club, 6-week challenges that incorporates regimented combination of clean eating with workouts, personal 1-on-1 training, and fun competitive events on holidays and at the beach - and more! We are SO extremely lucky to have been a part of the Surfcore community, and if it wasn't for making the move out of LA, we would've continued to stick with this gym for life. They have set an extremely HIGH bar(bell) for what we'll be looking for in a gym community in our next chapter. We are truly going to miss our Surfcore family!! If you are looking for a place to start your fitness journey, please do not hesitate to reach out to Jose & Carlos to join this vibrant community!!

I went to the Venice one and the spot was actually much bigger than it looked from outside. Alex, the trainer for my Run and Lift early morning class, was super welcoming and totally delivering top-notch first-timer experience for me, paying detailed attention that I got the instructions correctly and did the right movements. The intensity of the workout forced me to my limit, but they did let people do it on their own pace. The complementary facilities like locker, shower room, and even free towels made bunch of plus points, though one downside might be I'd prefer it to be cleaner (read: the women's bathroom might need more frequent cleaning especially with shedding hair). You did have the option to indulge post the workouts by getting their smoothies, which was also available to be pre-ordered and tailored to your preference by customizing the ingredients. No pool, no jacuzzi, no high ratings…read more... The only LA Fitness that I have been to without a pool, and I have been to a lot of LA Fitness in my almost 20 years as a member. It is the location. It is in two office buildings, with a premium on floor spaces, so no pool is understandable. Although I have been to Washington DC, where another LA Fitness is in an office building. That one has a pool and jacuzzi, so it is what it is. Be grateful to have a LA Fitness in the mid Wilshire district. In my home area, Puente Hill North the only club we have left is Diamond Bar, and that club is not pretty. Back to the Wilshire club it has everything else beside the pool and jacuzzi. I think that it does not have a steam room as well. However, it is ok. I simply go to this club to hang out while I wait for LACMA open, so no complaint on my part. Ray out.

I'm guessing 4 or 5 guys got quite a shock. This is the 17th time this has happened when I've been there around lunchtime. Also, the AC is broken again. It's usually broken and not running from June through October, but this time it broke in February. It did work sporadically for a day or two - like a few days ago - but it's broken again. Bigger issue remains that La Fitness lets women walk in and out of the men's lockeroom. Big problem.
