I went to my first class in their studio a week later and had two classes left. A few days later I noticed in my app that two of the three classes were used.... THEY charged the Lululemon event to my account even though that was entirely separate from the lululemon X PVOLVE promotion of buy $250 in Lulu and get three PVOLvE trial classes free. I was willing to overlook the horrifying street parking situation and the dirty floors, because I was seriously considering switching to their program, but with these sketchy practices....I'm out. This class is HARD! The studio is clean and bright and airy. I love how it is laid out. You pick up a basket at the melange and go to choose your mat and get set up. The trainers are so kind and helpful. Very open to newbies and they give great direction and guidance. The gliders will work your balance and isolation, and the resistance bands really do help push up the intensity of the workout. I love the floor mats and how well they work to direct movement and ensure you are in the right positions. I definitely struggled with my first class but I loved it and I will be back. 10/10 I do recommend. read more

I have not really worked out in 21 years and am so out of shape. It's been intimidating for me to go to any workout class as I cannot really keep up. But I'm now 48 and realize I can't continue with zero physical activity and I need to start from somewhere. I also have a knee injury I'm nursing that hampers everything. I relayed that to the front desk and the instructor, and everyone has been accommodating. Ngl, I can barely keep up even with their easiest class (strength and sculpt with recovery) but I have only been to 3 Classes and am hopeful I will eventually build up strength. I love Barney and his classes are always high energy and fun that I honestly dont even notice time passing by. When my favorite fitness studio closed right before the pandemic, I took way too long of a hiatus before finding Pvolve. But once I did, I never looked back! Pvolve is my favorite workout. It's so well rounded. The classes and amazing instructors are challenging but not so hard that I dread going to class, and I feel so good when I'm done!!!! There are tons of class times and class options throughout the day, so I can always find something that works with my schedule. The best thing about Pvolve is that the workout is so well balanced that this is the first time in my life that I've been able to do a 50 minute class 3-4 times a week and I don't have to fit in another 3 days of cardio to feel good in my clothes. I love that each instructor is positive and encouraging, the studio feels new and clean, and the equipment is so versatile I'm never bored. They have all different options for classes so you can pay by the class or buy a monthly membership for the most bang for your buck. Pvolve and the entire Pvolve team also make it a point to celebrate each and every milestone, making every member feel like an important part of the community. Every 50 classes, they give members a thoughtful gift (I love my Pvolve bag and sweatshirt from my 100th class!) and take a photo commemorating all of the hard work and classes you took to get to that day. Great workout! Hard to explain, but it kind of feels like low impact aerobics, Pure Barre, and maybe some Pilates thrown in for fun.

I live quite far from the studio, so sometimes arriving exactly on time is challenging. The first time I was 10 minutes late, the front desk refused to let me in without any explanation. I accepted it without complaint. The second time, I arrived early and literally saw a white woman arrive 15 minutes late--and she was allowed into the class. I later asked the manager, who told me there's a 10-minute grace period, but it depends on the class difficulty. I accepted that too. This week, I was about 11-12 minutes late. The front desk staff were kind and offered to help me check in or switch to another class. I was even willing to purchase a package to become a regular member. Then the manager came out, shut everything down, and repeated: "It's the policy." No check-in. No flexibility. No empathy. She dismissed my explanations, contradicted her own team, and kept pushing me to buy a package. After trying to reason with her for 20 minutes, I broke down in tears. Still, there was no compassion--only coldness and pressure. They eventually asked me to leave under the excuse of needing the restroom for others-because I am using the restroom to calm myself down. I didn't feel like a client--I felt like a problem. The way I was treated felt like microaggression, and deeply hurtful. read more

Like every studio in LA, they do "congratulations" signs for people hitting 100 classes. I recently signed up for my 100th class, but when I walked in there was nothing. Even the person checking me in didn't say a word. It was so weird that I had to ask, and I was told "We only do that for members now." I can't think of a business reason not to celebrate everyone who hits 100 classes. It felt really catty and cold. There are 2-3 good instructors, but they have very limited availability. When I don't take one of the top instructors, I'm bored and don't feel like I got a good workout. It's just sad that some of what made it special is gone now that they've franchised and expanded. read more

I took the 2:00pm Strength & Sculpt Class on Sunday with Julie Ann and it was very different from any other workout I've tried. If I had to describe it, I would say it's a solid mix of Physical Therapy, Pilates and Mat work. We used 2 lb dumbbells, a slant board, 1.5 lb ankle weights and a mat. Proper form was shown to us before and through out the workout. Julie Ann seemed to know everyone by name and even remembered my name after a quick introduction before class. I appreciated that she would show us a move and instead of staying stationary, she moved throughout the room to correct form. The studio is pretty fancy but the front staff (Matt) was very welcoming. They have a small locker room, just about every hygiene product you could think of (in case you forgot a hair tye - they've got you covered), two gender neutral bathrooms, a nice sitting area and two large patios you can hang out on before or after class. I think this would be a great workout for anyone dealing with an injury, chronic pain or is completely new to working out. If you're pretty strong or used to HIIT style training, you will likely hate this because it's very slow and controlled. That being said, the moves are still beneficial. Oh and don't forget shoes! This is not a barefoot workout. read more

I absolutely love this training method. I suffer from arthritis but I can get through this workout. It's low impact but very intense and it's the first time I've ever seen toning in my body (even doing HIIT). All the trainers are very qualified. And they give you nice wet towels after to cool down with. Only complaint is the music is too loud. Ha! Worth checking out just for their propieotery equipment alone! read more

If you have decent coordination and do semi fast paced workouts, then I'd highly recommend this place! I wish the workouts were slower especially for beginners or at least have a class for newcomers. Staff is friendly! The bathrooms are clean and have extra things that you might need to get ready for a class or to clean yourself up after a class. Plenty of street parking when I went for a 12pm class during a weekday. Loved that a staff member is waiting outside the class to give towels for people can cool down. LOVED the strength and sculpt class here with Shanelle! This has been my favorite so far using classpass. First of all, the studio itself is really cute and aesthetically pleasing - from the locker area to the actual class area that is connected to an outdoor deck where you can sit and relax (see pics). What I loved about this class was how it was a good combo of strength, stretching, and some cardio all together. Shanelle was an very kind and attentive instructor and made usage of the equipment very easy. I didn't need to rent anything unlike some other classes in LA, all you need is workout shoes. I've taken two classes here now with class pass and I can say that I love this studio! It's a very different kind of workout and a great addition to the area. Only downside is parking, but there's free street parking on Orlando so I walk to class from there. The gym has lockers and hygienic products which is very convenient. I've taken sculpt & burn with Liz and strength & sculpt with Sharona. I appreciated that the classes had variation and each instructor had a different vibe. Liz's felt more cardio oriented and was faster paced (almost like a fun 80s workout class lol) and Sharona's was slower with us holding weighted positions with r&b/hip hop. Generally, the workouts feel like a mix of yoga with PT exercises with resistance training. They seem to focus a lot on mobility and joint strengthening which, as someone who suffers from hyper mobility, I love! My workouts are about 50% traditional weight training, 25% HIIT and 25% yoga, and this workout falls about somewhere between all those without the heavy weights. I think it's an awesome way to mix up your workouts, focus on form, and support your joints/body to better set you up for your other workout types. I hope this place stays on ClassPass because I will be back! read more

Just took my first class at P.Volve with Chloe and I left feeling like I got my time and money's worth. I signed up through ClassPass and had no idea what to expect. Here are some overall thoughts: THE STUDIO: Wow! It's definitely new and very luxe feeling. Huge fitness room that opens up to outdoor decks on either side so it's very well-ventilated and comfortably fits a lot of people. All the mats and equipment are laid out and evenly spaced so there's no back and forth setting up and cleaning up. Everything feels really high quality and clean. 10/10 THE PEOPLE: The staff are all super friendly and welcoming. Chloe had amazing energy and was really easy to understand throughout the class. If you're new, I recommend staying up close as she will help you with any adjustments you need to make. THE CLASS: Definitely had my butt handed to me. Was not anticipating such an intensive workout but it truly was a full-body workout that got me sweating. I do pilates every day but this was on a whole other level. There is a bit of learning curve at first with all the equipment but I feel confident going into my next class and flowing more seamlessly. THE PARKING: I came in at 7 so there was a ton of street parking outside on Melrose but that might not be the case later in the afternoon. Get there early if you can! Overall, absolutely loved this (but it could be the endorphins talking) and can't wait to come back. :) read more

Wonderful staff! Not at all stuffy or elitist! Great vibes and amazing workout! They sanitize all equipment between classes and provide a towel. They have extra deodorant and dry shampoo if you need it. A water bottle filling station. Coach Rene was just awesome! Great energy and so knowledgeable and encouraging. I loved that they made such an effort to support me as I pushed through the workout. Little movements made such a big difference. I found free street parking, but read the signs!! Lots of permit only places! I went midday both times and parking was not an issue. Also a great open concept workout space with doors that expand the entirety of the north and south walls. Great exercise vibe. I was looking for a more open space - for the most part, the double side sliding doors are open for ventilation, which is very important to me. All of the instructors are different so you'll have to try out different ones to find ones that you like. I booked an Infrared Sauna session through Classpass and the experience was great! The ladies at the front desk were super warm and welcoming, and the sauna is in a private room with a shower! It is close to the entrance of the studio so you might hear people talking and you will definitely hear music from the classes, but nothing too loud. The only downsides are that there is no parking lot, and that the private room gets really hot even outside of the sauna, meaning you will start sweating again almost immediately after showering making it really difficult to put on clothes. I went to the restroom across the hall to change which wasn't a huge inconvenience, but I can see it being really awkward if someone is using the restroom and you have to wait outside in your towel lol. read more

There is nothing else that comes close to Pvolve. It's such an interesting combination of cardio (that isn't boring) with moves that strengthen your body, overall mobility and balance. I definitely neglected good form and balance when I was in my 20s and 30s so Pvolve is helping me to regain the balance that I never really had. Renee is an outstanding teacher and she helps you to focus on your form to help get the most from the class. Her music choices are fantastic too. Melrose is a little far for me but I'm going to keep at it until Pvolve opens the Marina Del Rey location! read more

I joined P.volve via recommendation from a friend. As someone who hasn't worked out regularly since pre-pandemic, it's been great to join a gym that's A. clean and B. has super sweet and energetic instructors. I'm currently on an unlimited membership through their NY discount, and love going 3 times a week. The classes are varied, even when they have the same title, and I'm a big fan of strength & sculpt. I did one sculpt & burn class, and it was way more intense than the strength & sculpt because it incorporated more cardio. I'll probably continue to do the strength & sculpt classes, which I still find challenging, as I build up my strength. There's a locker room with locks, some bathrooms, and a sauna that I've yet to take part in. Shoutout to Nat Allen, who is one of my favorite instructors. Also, I've heard the gym is on class pass, so those folks should join a class when they can. Parking wise, Melrose can be tough--it's mostly meters, but there can be options in the neighborhood if you're willing to walk! read more

Loved my workout here! Came early for the 6am class, and street parking was abundant. The instructor was extremely friendly and informative. There are also tons of amenities by the changing area (spray on deodorant, dry shampoo, leave in conditioner, lotion, hair ties, etc.). The lockers also have locks on them. The studio was very clean and beautiful. I took an indoor class but i can imagine the outdoor patio classes to be really fun and beautiful with the views. The class I took was only 45 mins, so I was in and out, but definitely got my butt kicked! Loved the ankle weights that added to the challenge. Will definitely be coming back! read more

This outpost needs to do a better job communicating to customers that there is a huge construction project blocking the entrance with a giant dirt pit and barricade so you can't get into the building from the front. There is no parking around here so expect to walk about half a mile to get there. They don't explain that you need to go in through the back which is only accessible through a back alley. read more
