My dentist of 25 years was an old friend, whose father was a dentist, so my standards are high. But…read morehe's near retiring and we moved over an hour away..........It was a relief to find Covington Family Dental!! When I needed an emergency extraction they worked me in ASAP. The clinic was spotlessly clean with very nice modern equipment. Dr. Layla was very nice, knowledgeable and did an excellent procedure. I found the entire staff to be friendly, helpful and the experience was really very pleasant, which you can't generally say about a tooth extraction!! Now I'm a new patient and HIGHLY recommend.

Unfortunately, after waiting nearly 5 months from the day I originally scheduled my appointment, I…read moream still left with my tooth not repaired. Earlier in the week of my appointment, I called the office myself to verify the date and time and made it clear I intended to be there, or at least I thought I had. At no point during scheduling was I ever told that I would need to explicitly say the exact words "I am confirming that I will be there" in order for the appointment to be considered confirmed. I was also never informed that failure to do so would result in cancellation. Apparently, that did not technically count as confirmation. When the office later called for their required confirmation, I was given approximately one hour to return the call before my appointment was rescheduled. This was communicated to me via voicemail, and I was never actually spoken to directly. Considering I had already called earlier that same week to verify the appointment and had waited months for it, I find that policy extremely unreasonable. I was devastated when I found out and became very emotional on the phone. In the interest of complete transparency, I did use profanity a few times while upset, and I have since apologized for that and tried to explain where my head was at in that moment. Despite that, I still felt dismissed and as though I was no longer worthy of their treatment, and the office ultimately declined to see me. I do want to give credit to the office manager. He called me personally afterward, was much kinder about the situation, refunded the money I had paid toward their in-house dental plan, and canceled the plan so I would not continue being charged. I genuinely appreciate how he handled that part of the situation. Unfortunately, none of that changes the fact that after nearly 5 months of waiting, X-rays and discussing treatment, I am still left with the same chipped tooth I originally came in hoping to have repaired. That's ultimately why I cannot give a positive review.
