They advertise together and are in the same building, so I suspect it's the same owner. But I could be wrong. But a successful business must meet a real want/need too. And Reef Beach Services and Rental/Under the Sea Ice Cream seems to do that. They have most of the stuff you want and need for your idyllic beachin - burgers, hotdogs, ice cream, ice, boards, chairs, bikes, golf carts, and more. Horizontal diversification perhaps! Most other places in this area are more narrow in their range of offerings. For example, Big Daddy's is just bikes. Pecan Jack's is just sweets and ice cream. Yolo is just bikes and boards. I called about daily prices for golf carts since we were there for 4 days and some businesses offered a weeklong rental only. I was offered daily pricing that seemed fair so I drove over to rent and met the owner and son who were both really pleasant and helpful. He delivered the cart and I drove him back. They were also helpful when returning the cart. I am hoping they are there next time I return to the area :) Nice people! read more

I bought 4 boogie boards. Within a half hour of using them, the styrofoam in one started to disintegrate and the strap broke on another. I went to return them and the owner was very rude - he said he'd only return one because he "hadn't seen them break like that before." I insisted he return both and he copped an attitude and said now he wouldn't return either of them. He blamed my kids for the damage. Garbage products and rude employees. Stay away. read more

This company was mentioned in a review of the property where we stayed for the week and I am very glad I contacted them to rent a golf cart. We called several other companies and they were all sold out, but we were able to get a golf cart for the week and we were very happy with the service. The cart was delivered on time, it was in great condition, and it was picked up before we got up to leave on the morning we went home so there was no stressing about leaving it at the house we rented. I'm in my 40's and have never written a bad review for any business. People make mistakes or have bad days. It's life and you just have to get over it. However, the experience I had with Reef Beach Services and Rentals in Seagrove Beach, FL is one I will never forget. I don't know if I'm more irritated or amused by my interactions with the owner. This may be lengthy, so bear with me... I'm on a girls trip with my daughters. I unfortunately had to work some of the time, so the girls asked if they could have a golf cart to drive instead of the big SUV. We called around and no one had any available, except for Reef Rentals. Or at least they said they did. Maybe. I don't know because his wife told me she did, but would have to call me back to confirm. No call back and no answer when I called her back. Not a big deal as I am sure they were up to their eyeballs with calls and customers. After waiting a couple of hours, I decided to just check on their website to see if I could just reserve one. I checked and it let me reserve it for the next two days. It even let me pay and took the $256 dollars immediately out of my account. Yay for me, right? So, I tried to find out if I needed to go to the shop to pick it up or if they planned on delivering it to the condo. I called and the husband answered. That's when the fun began. Not really. I let him know that I reserved a golf cart from his website (with confirmation number and totally paid for) and he was both irritated and confused. I knew this was going to be one for the books just by his personality. He let me know that he doesn't have any golf carts to rent out and he has no clue if he'll have one available the days we need them. Okay, no big deal. I very politely (because he was acting a bit crazy) let him know that there must be a flaw in his online system if you can reserve and pay for a product that you may not get. It kind of went like this... Him: "Wait, you said you reserved the golf cart online?" Me: "Yes sir." Him: (irritated and almost screaming) "We don't have any 4 seater golf carts available! We have 6 seaters at $$$" Me: "Hmm...Well, I don't need a 6 seater because only 2 people will be on it" Him: (obviously pissed at this point and huffing and puffing) "Well what do you want me to do? They are all rented out and I can't promise I'll have you one for tomorrow!" Me: (shocked, but not in the mood for confrontation) "Can I just get my debit card refunded?" Him: (getting more heated and loud) "Fine! I'll get my wife to refund you tomorrow!" Me: (confused why he's so mad, but willing to test the water a little) "You may want to correct your online ordering system. There seems to be a flaw with what's available." (Still calm and courteous, but rocking an evil smile) Him: (Screaming like a lunatic at the top of his lungs-think Gary Busey) "There's nothing wrong with my system!" (click) So, at this point I realize he hung up on me because I ordered a golf cart online and told him it was flawed because it let me rent it without being available. Now, I'm a bit amused. I need more interaction with him. I decided to take a more motherly approach to his child like behavior and call back. Yes, now I'm toying with his emotions. So, I call back. Him: (pissed...) "What!" (guess he has caller id) Me: (in a super sweet southern voice and talking to him like a two year old) "Hiiii! I believe we got disconnected" Him: "No we didn't! I didn't appreciate you saying my system is flawed! It's not flawed and that hurt my feelings! What do you want!" Me: (trying not to laugh at how child like he's acting) "Oh, I'm so sorry sweetie. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I apologize from the bottom of my heart." Him: (sounding like he might cry) "Well my system is not flawed." Me: "I know it's not. Just forget I said that. It was my mistake and I shouldn't have said that about your system." Him: "Well it did. Thanks for apologizing. I may get some golf carts in early in the morning and if so I'll drop one off at your condo." Me: (still talking to him like a two year old) "Well that is sooo nice of you! I'm sure my girls would really appreciate that." Him: (calmer, but still childlike) "Yeah, well ok. You didn't have to be so mean about the system. It's a good system." Me: "Oh, I'm sure it's a great system! You are lucky to have it!" Him: "Thanks." Me: "Ok, so I'll just touch base with you in the morning then?" Him: "Yes" I don't know how this guy runs a business with an attitude like that. This was definitely one for the books! BTW. He dropped of the golf cart, fully charged at 7am the next morning. It was a piece of crap, but it worked. If you want to rent anything from Reef Beach Services and Rentals, make sure you go in person. Don't use the online system, because it really is flawed. There are nicer and more professional places to rent from, but if you want a "one of a kind" experience with a crazy person this is your place!!!! read more

My husband and I had a great experience here renting beach chairs and an umbrella. It was worth every penny. We went with this after our own umbrella kept blowing over and we saw people with these chairs and umbrellas on the beach enjoying the day. When we went into the store we ended up spending quite a bit of time talking to the owner. Super nice guy! Gave us a ton of info and recommendations on the area. They also have an ice cream shop with some.amaxing ice cream so I definitely recommend stopping by in person. The beach service was definitely worth it. Everything was set up for us every morning before we got to the beach. The umbrellas withstood the wind. The chairs were able to recline and be repositioned. It was perfect. We look forward to coming back to the area and will be renting from here again! read more

Well we rented 2 chairs with 1 umbrella and 1 table,, we didn't get the table so I called they didn't have me down for one so I found my email and forwarded it to them they brought my table for about noon,, they came to pick up everything at 435 the first day which I thought was early then the second day it was 410 ,, meanwhile other companies still had set ups out there til after 6pm,, you rent for the day I would assume the day meant til sunset,, but my mistake that I won't make again! read more

Stopped in here on our way back to Rosemary. Kids loved this place! Striped chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a candy face on top made out of gummy worms and gummy eyeballs. Totally cool! Plus, they have homemade fudge that looks pretty tempting. The 30A swirl looked psychedelic good! Friendly folks abound around these parts, but the staff at Reef Beach were above and beyond. Down in Santa Rosa on a bachelorette party (we know, the locals hate it) but we were truly a well behaved, respectful group. We called this company to set up chairs at the last minute. They were very willing to set up 10 chairs and 5 umbrellas. When we walked to the beach, the company had set up right in front of a condo - and their chairs and umbrellas. We were immediately cussed out by the locals who had been there since 7:30 that morning. We totally understood, but I wasn't going to move 10 chairs and 5 umbrellas -- it was our vacation, too. The company received multiple calls from the locals and we were told we had to move. This was a huge inconvenience. When I called the owner to ask for some of our money back (because it was their mistake, not ours) she laughed and said you can sit in the sand and we can take our chairs and umbrellas with us. She is incredibly rude and never once apologized for the inconvenience or took credit for the mistake. She said she had to listen to the other people or they would "complain all Summer." She said she knew we were in town for a short time. So, basically, our time or money didn't matter. I won't be using them again. read more

My mother booked a golf cart for a birthday celebration, specific color and gas one, 4 weeks in advance and we are local, they said we can pick up anytime, early as 7.30 am. When she went there at 8.30 owner told her, they have only one golf cart it's electric and black, take it or leave it. And she was super rude to her, she came home crying. I went to the store with her, to find out what is going on, I asked the owner what happen? She said who are you? Get the fuck out of my store. That moment I understand she is in the wrong business. I just returned from a week long trip to water color. My family rented a golf cart from Reef Beach Services & Rentals. Imagine my surprise when I was told by Water Color security patrol that gas golf carts are not allowed to be operated or parked in Water Color. The nice officer also told me that the owners of Reef had been repeatedly warned not the rent gas gold carts to Water Color guests. This was a major disappointment to my 4 kids (all over 21) because they were looking forward to driving the golf cart for a week. The officer told us the cart and or driver is ticketed and the ticket goes too Reef. Reef then charges the renters credit card for the fine. Fines can be as much as $300.00 an occurrence. Obviously under the circumstances we are seeking a refund of the rental charges. I can not believe an owner of a business would just ignore the law and consequently dampen a family's vacation. We had our golf cart personally delivered soon after we called to reserve it. Had a bit of trouble with the battery charging so we called to ask for another one. Unfortunately, none were available, so Rims had our full amount credited back for the rental but he let us keep the golf cart! Plus, he delivered some paddle boards and a kayak free of charge "for our troubles" which was incredibly nice!!! Definitely would recommend getting all of your beach supplies from Rims and his team! read more

Reef Beach did answer the phone quickly and was efficient in helping with getting me a paddleboard. Their prices are higher than their competition locally in Seagrove, FL, therefore, they will likely have gear when others won't. The board was a good board. My main complaint though is that you don't get a full eight hours of use of a paddleboard and, at the higher price, I think you should. Since they rent all types of beach equipment, the chairs go out earlier in the morning and the delivery of a paddleboard comes later in the morning, as late as 10 AM. You get the board until 5 PM so you get it less than an eight hour day. I appreciated the fact that the person running the local office got my board to me around 10 AM (her team was not back from their other deliveries) but, when I called at the end of the day to indicate my returning the board, she told me that their rep was waiting before 5 PM so, another little push to have the board less than a full day. That is my biggest complaint...if I pay more, I should at least get a full day. read more
