I own a water treatment business and have been a reef aquarium hobbyist for over 20 years. About a month ago I decided to start having my tank serviced instead of doing it myself. I've had three guys working on my two saltwater tanks, I have one at home and one at work. Well the first guy, I won't say names, but he is in the Beverly Woods Area, had no clue what he was doing and was lazy. So needless to say, he got the ax. I then started using Raymond at my office location and his reef scaping is amazing. He used natural rock and just the rock alone without coral looked a million times better then the tank with coral and fish that the first moron did. My office is downtown and I live in Redondo Beach, so for my home I axed the first dude that lived in Beverly Woods and went with a local guy. Well he changed the whole set-up. We went from Kessil AP700's to a hybrid system, which was 2500 bucks and changed the sump system to a system that was supposed to best ever made, The Vertex!!! Well, the Vertex one cost $4500 bucks and nothing but issue with the protein skimmer. It kept over-Flowing, etc. So one day I finally cleaned the protein skimmer in Vinegar like some forums said and it was working OK. So that night I finally slept ok. Well I woke up the next morning to the skimmer dumping all the fish shit into my tank. What a disaster and I was pissed. So I asked Ray to come to my home as well and we went back to Octo Skinner which is amazing and put the Kessil AP 700's back up. Well it has been 3 weeks since he has been working on the home tank and coral is thriving and fish are happy as hell. Oh by the way, I bought a Gem tang for my home tank as well and after a few months that died, 3000 dollar fish and that is really when I flipped and went with Raymond at my house. After you kill a 3000 dollar fish I'm done with you. You can tell the Ray is passionate about this and loves his job. He is busy, but not just a great owner of great business, but funny as hell too. After a year of working with Ray, I can say we have become good friends and he is the only guy besides my self that will ever touch my reef tanks again!!! read more

We luckily found Ray through yelp in April of this year. My wife and I had always wanted a saltwater coral/fish tank and so we started out by buying an aquarium. Once we realized the amount of equipment needed, we knew we needed to hire a professional. We chose to call Ray due to the positive reviews he had on yelp that were clearly not fabricated, unlike some other companies seemed to have. Thank goodness we did, because not only was he at our house within the hour of our call, but he has actually managed to create one of the most amazing reef/fish aquarium setups I have ever seen in a home with a tank that is not even designed for this at all!! It turns out that at the very beginning, we had bought a 120 gallon freshwater tank and stand instead of an aquarium designed for saltwater. His system design creativity immediately helped our purchase not become a loss, while his livestock knowledge and design creativity has given our home such a beautifully unique and serene feature.
