I am highly disappointed with our experience here and will not be returning. My 9-year-old daughter was originally so excited to visit this shop with her dad to buy her very first guppies. Unfortunately, they died within 24 hours, leaving her heartbroken. Since we live in the High Desert, we aren't local, but we decided to stop by again when we were back in the area. We spoke directly with Miguel and explained what happened. He assured my husband and me that if we took pictures of any future losses and kept our receipt, we could call him within 3 days and he "would work something out" with us. Based on that assurance, we bought 20 more fish. Sadly, the majority of them have already died. I followed instructions perfectly: I took photos of the dead fish and kept my receipt. However, when I called the shop, Miguel completely changed his terms, stating I now needed to bring the physical dead fish into the store and provide a water sample. I tested my water quality myself, and it is perfectly within range. In fact, I already have an existing tank of guppies that are actively thriving and reproducing--we only bought these new fish to add some color. Furthermore, the fish we purchased from Rainbow brought Ich into our established tank. Despite immediately treating the tank, the infection still killed the new fish and compromised my healthy ones. It is incredibly frustrating to be given a verbal guarantee only to have the store move the goalposts when a problem arises. Terrible customer service and unhealthy livestock. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. read more

I usually come to this store and normally have a good experience, but this time the service was very disappointing. I saw a fish displayed in the showcase marked for $24.99, so I asked if I could purchase it. I waited a long time just to get assistance, and after waiting around 25 minutes for the manager, I was told they couldn't sell it to me because "someone had dropped it off." Honestly, it felt more like an excuse than a real explanation. If an item is displayed with a price, customers should either be able to buy it or at least be informed properly from the beginning instead of being left waiting. Very poor customer service and a frustrating experience. read more

Be very careful buying your fish here my entire tank was just ruined because the fish I bought here had disease and spread it all over my tank to all my bettas tetras snails loaches and plants. I just wasted a ton of money on fish and plants all for it to be ruined by a disease ridden fish. I told him about the fish and he did swap it for one without ich but the damage was done and this fish just spread a plague in my tank. read more

Love this lfs! It might look small at first but they got all types of fish for freshwater and saltwater, as well as corals. And they added freshwater plants too. All high quality. The staff always takes the time to help everyone out. When its really busy you might need to flag them down. But they're always ready to assist with whatever you need. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Theres parking in the back and on the street. read more

One of the nicest aquariums I've been to. I've been to many throughout Southern California due to this being my husband's hobby; he loves fish tanks! We discovered this place after we moved to the SFV. It's still a bit of a drive but we make the drive. Today specifically because everything was 20% off. They have sale days, not sure how often, but at least once a year. The aquarium is smallish, but utilizes they're space well. It's clean and visually pretty inside. The fish look healthy. Everyone is nice and friendly. The prices are fair. No pressure to buy either. It's great to go and brows there. read more

The fishes were good shape except for the saltwater fish. They were in small spaces and were flaring at eachother.

These workers are not annoying and on your ass. They let you look around and explore the store without bugging you, but are still very accommodating when needed or asked a question. They have awesome fish and a pretty big variety. The prices are not the worst, not the best but pretty decent considering they keep their fish in healthy water conditions unlike big chain stores like petco and whatnot. I cared for him for as long as I could but he was getting bigger and was about 6" by the time I called to ask if they would offer to take him. completely sucked the fun out of my hobby today Nothing bad to say of price or quality... I walked into a sale day (unknowingly)... there were so many people and no system for queuing customers ready to purchase. I just walked out after waiting 45 minutes to be served... made contact with two employees who said they'd be right with me. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I was the only person left in in that part of the store and someone walked in off the street and was immediately served. They abuse the fish!!!! They are a fish shop. They should be professional. They are supposed to know that they should not put with Certain fish. Their display fishtank has a lot of hurt fish in the worst condition I have ever seen. They are supposed to separate them and take them out, But they don't care they just let them be together! They have a few huge triggerfish with a few tangs, angels, and foxfaces. Every single fish, the yellow tang, blue tang, the angels, and three foxfaces have their fins bitten so badly their bones are showing, and every fin is ripped apart. Is it fair for these fish? I feel so sorry for them. They are so mean and cruel! Money is important? So don't their care about the LIFE and SAFETY for these small animals. read more

Don't go if you're immunocompromised. Mask requirements are not enforced even when asked. For the store itself, plants for sale are covered in hair algae and snails; most tanks have no substrate and suffer from overcrowding; algae is growing all over tank walls. Fish conditions are unknown but usually if the tanks aren't maintained decently you can't expect fish to have been medicated or quarantined properly prior to sale. I had been looking forward to trying this store for a couple of months now but it was a huge letdown. read more
