I think the most daunting issue in the pursuit of photos and videos is trying to navigate all the different systems firmware updates and technology roadblocks that exist. These guys make it easy so you can focus on enjoying your pursuits and steer you the right way I have shopped with many reputable resellers, but the service from Reef Photo is unmatched. They are so authentic and trustworthy with their selections and won't tell you something that they know isn't gonna work that well. I have bought three camera set ups and multiple lenses through them and will continue shopping with them even though I live in California. They've gained my trust and loyalty. I am a underwater photographer with 35+ years experience and 4000+ dives. My photographs are used in many publications and are used in displays in public aquariums and natural history museums. I have multiple INON strobes;D80s, D2000s, & D240s, which I have used for many years and have never had any issue getting a good seal when I change the batteries. The battery compartments of all of the strobes are identical. I began dealing with Reef Photo when they became the only distributor for INON strobes in the US. I was planing on a 16 day trip to Clipperton Island so I purchased a "guaranteed" used INON Z240 strobe for a back-up. As I always do I took the strobe on a local trip here in California to try it. It failed during the 1st dive. When I looked at it I could see water leaking in around the edge of the front glass. Once back on the boat I opened the battery compartment and it was dry with no signs of leakage. I returned the "guaranteed" used INON Z240 to Reef Photo and they refused to back it up. They told me I did not seal the batteries properly and they would not honor their guarantee. Luckily there are now many other alternative INON dealers. I now use Blue Water Photo or Backscatter here in California. I will never to business with these Bozos again. read more

Totally amazing service! Bought a new Nauticam housing & showed up with my old Sea & Sea housing. They spent an amazing amount of one-on-one time with me, working on how to get my Sea & Sea dome port & flat port to adapt to Nauticam (rather than just telling me I had to buy a new "compatible" ones... Then they worked through the issues of getting my YS-250 strobes to work with fiber optics as well, again, going through extra time & options to make them work rather than encouraging me to buy something different. After working through the technical "compatibility" issues, they listened to what I wanted in terms of setting up lighting accessories & recommended (and installed for free) the pieces I chose for the housing to support my strobes & focus light. After that, I was walked through the functionality of the housing, what all the buttons control, and provided with tips on settings. The last thing was "any questions?" - continuing to offer support & share knowledge. There is no way anyone could ask for more honest, in-depth, friendly and accommodating service than Reef Photo provides. This store is amazing. Their expertise and knowledge in regard to underwater photography and video is unmatched in my experience. Everyone that works there truly understands how the different underwater equipment works and helped me make a decision on my housing that I am truly happy with. They spent a lot of time educating me on the different options I had and what the pros and cons where of each. After I bought my system they were very helpful with questions I had after the fact and quick to respond to my emails even when I was on a trip and had a question about one of the functions on my camera that I had accidentally switched on and couldn't figure out how to change it back. To put it simply, they are the best and when I was shopping around before I was "sold" on Reef Photo, the "other guys" just didn't seem to have the same knowledge and service that I was getting from Reef Photo and Video. This place was a real find for me. Although they specialize in underwater housings I gave them a call anyway for a Sony A7Rii. It seems that they carry most camera brands so they can sell them with housings. Phil and his manager we're great! They didn't hesitate to bring equipment not on display from the warehouse for me to play with. They both answered all of my questions and treated me warmly, I never felt rushed. I plan on doing a lot of business with them in the future. read more
