A female employee quickly came over to assist us and give us information. She rapidly gave us a ton of specs and information on a bunch of the refrigerators. Since I wasn't well versed in the different brands, styles, specs etc, it was a lot of information to take in so quickly. I must have missed something that she said, because after I asked her a question about one of the refrigerators, she looked at my girlfriend, shook her head, rolled her eyes, and said "geeze it's like pulling your hair out with him." I couldn't believe it! What an extremely rude and disgusting comment. I am the customer! You aren't supposed to be insulting the customer. How stupid can you be? So unprofessional and nasty. I was planning on purchasing a lot of things from this highway appliance for my new house, but not after that experience!

I'm writing this review to warn others about Don's Appliances' warranty service. I purchased a…read morehigher‑end washer from them in 2024 along with their warranty. Less than two years later, on May 30th, 2026, the pump and circuit board failed. I expected the warranty to help--what I got instead was a service nightmare. I was told the earliest appointment would be July 2nd, more than a month out. With no other option under their warranty, I accepted it. I have a family of five, and being without a washer for weeks meant hauling laundry baskets to a laundromat and spending money I shouldn't have to spend. Then on June 10th, they texted offering an earlier appointment. My wife responded within six minutes, but the slot was already taken. They told me "texts can be delayed" and that the appointment was filled. I had no idea I'd have to compete for service under a warranty I paid for. I was also told they only have one technician covering Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Their staffing issues somehow become the customer's problem. When the technician finally arrived on July 2nd, he couldn't fix the washer because a part needed to be ordered. He said he'd return July 9th. Today, I received another message saying the part didn't arrive and the appointment was pushed to July 15th. If the part truly didn't come in, I understand--but if the first appointment hadn't taken over a month, the part could have been ordered long ago. To make matters worse, when I asked to move the July 15th appointment by one day so I wouldn't have to miss work, I was told the next available date would be August. Customer service reps have been polite, but clearly overwhelmed. They even admitted that many customers wait up to two months for service, as if that's normal. I will now be 46 days without a working washer, and still waiting. Don's Appliances needs to hire more technicians and stop selling warranties they can't support.

Mikel was our cashier with his friendly smile and polite attitude. It wasn't just because he was in air conditioning on a hot day because later he was in the garden area as a cashier. I didn't mention it was 90 degrees this day but out to the lumber yard Clayton rescued us and not only help us load the lumber but he took the loader over and picked up the 60 lbs bags of concrete and loaded them so we didn't have to drive our truck. Duncan and Bryan T. also impressed us with their friendly help and really made our shopping experience delightful. Although known of them accepted my offer to help build our deck they took that suggested with laughter. The value even without the 11% rebate was better than in our area on this date but sometimes the dollar talks in this case the staff will also be why we will return.

He was very rude, spoke overly loudly (and I say this as someone who wears hearing aids), and was gleeful (when I told him his attitude had me reconsidering shopping at Menards) about telling me the store didn't need my business. I did not feel welcome with my service animal, due to his behavior. I will nolonger be encouraging friends and family to shop at Menards and will probably cancel my credit card with the store. Hope that this guy somehow manages to make money for the store, cause he certainly turned me off today with my home improvement supplies list that I will be taking to Lowes.

BUYER BEWARE We…read morepurchased a $2,300 refrigerator from Cabin Hill, our 4th appliance from them in about 6 months. We chose this long-standing, locally owned business because we believed we would receive reliable service and accountability. We also purchased the extended warranty on every appliance we've bought there. We were sold a defective product. Just over a year in, the freezer failed. We are now over two weeks without a functioning refrigerator, including through Thanksgiving. We lost hundreds of dollars in food and had to cancel holiday plans with our family and grandkids. The service technician spent over an hour diagnosing the issue and informed us that we had one of the most serious problems a fridge can have: a refrigerant leak, which rendered both the freezer and refrigerator unusable. We were told the repair would take nearly a full day and had to wait over a week for the appointment. After over 5 hours of work during the repair we were suddenly told that the refrigerator could not be fixed and we would need a full replacement. This was especially frustrating because just an hour earlier we were told that everything looked good and the repair would be finished soon. Instead, they said GE, not Cabin Hill, would be handling the replacement process. We didn't buy from GE; we bought from a local store expecting local support from their in-house service department. That expectation was a major factor in choosing this supposedly "mom and pop," 100-year-old business. What happened next was even more disappointing. I called today to speak to an owner, hoping that someone with actual decision-making authority might help our family. I was told an owner would return the call. After hearing nothing for 3 hours, I called again and was told the owners are never there. I was then transferred to a supervisor, who later identified himself as the highest-ranking employee on site. This supervisor was dismissive, offered no empathy, and provided no solutions. He repeatedly talked over me, refused to provide his manager's contact information, and would not pass our concerns to anyone above him. He hung up on me three times. I never yelled or swore; I was simply trying to get help. Am I frustrated? Yes. Did the arrogance, disrespectful tone towards a woman, and abrupt hang-ups escalate that frustration? Absolutely. We now have: A barely one-year-old refrigerator with catastrophic failure No usable fridge or freezer Hundreds of dollars in food loss A disrupted family holiday "Double coverage" in warranties that have produced no meaningful support A business passing everything off to GE, despite GE not being the retailer The most disturbing part is the complete lack of compassion, accountability, or willingness to connect us with an actual decision-maker. The supervisor claimed to be "in charge" but refused to share who his own boss was or how to contact them. Each time we asked, he hung up the phone. We expected much better from a company that presents itself as a caring, community based operation that has served our region for generations. Our initial experience, including excellent delivery staff was exactly what we had hoped for. But when it mattered most, that level of service disappeared completely. We have contacted the Better Business Bureau, and the Attorney General. People deserve to know the reality behind the reputation. This has been the worst customer service we have encountered, and the overall experience has left us feeling deeply uneasy about how this company does business. Proceed with caution. **The reply on GOOGLE by the business is not by an owner, as they are not involved with the business as we were told, and is not factual, see above. If it was, we wouldn't be here. Plus we called GE directly today 12.9.25, since we have heard nothing yet, and they had no idea about this issue, so more untruths. They also wondered why Cabin Hill was not handling this for us, and told us the tech cut the line too short and this is why the repair could not be completed. Lies upon lies so far. Shady stuff here folks.

I have also come to the realization that you don't always need to buy new when you are looking for unique. I really enjoyed this place because they have something for just about everybody in here. What one person may find tacky another will enjoy immensely. The downstairs is setup nicely. You can easily maneuver through the area and see everything they have on display. Don't think that this is all that they have in store, venture upstairs. Upstairs takes a little more time to go through. But it is still a great area to go through. I was drawn to this map of the city, of course I was too late as it was sold. Would make a great wall piece. There were also an abundance of globes that were dated, but kind of awesome. I also eyed in on a coat rack, but had to talk myself out of it as I really didn't need it. Don't mind the noise when you are upstairs as this sits underneath Arsenal Bowling. At least don't think that there was another floor to this and that they were moving furniture around, as my friend did. Really amusing and confusing to the employee when we were in here.
