I usually clean my own place. I've always been hesitant when it comes to hiring cleaning services. I never really see much difference compared to when I clean. However, I will gladly say that refer cleaning changed my mind. I couldn't do what they did in my home. John the owner came fully equipped with a vacuum and cleaning supplies. What really blew me away was that he did a walk through prior to the cleaning to see what my preferences are. He then did the same at the end just to make sure he didn't miss anything and that my preferences were met. He also used brand new rags that he unwrapped in front of me. This comment from Jon of Refer Cleaning is awful & sounds desperate, all because of a negative review. Your response is full of personal attacks & falsehoods, not misrepresentations, but lies. You did not do the job as promised & didn't rate 5 stars, although you took the money ($500 in cash)! You ruined your 5-star rating! I reported it to Yelp who now has an ongoing file! I don't know how you could report me before the service. I was a new Yelper! You blamed Yelp for not investigating me before the service! Unfortunately, I didn't notice that you did NOT have a Yelp guarantee! Refer Cleaning was not the only biz in NY with over 50 reviews & a 5-star rating, as you claim, saying my motives & "sole purpose" were to destroy 5-star rated services! NO evidence of that! Yelp initially contacted services for my project, not me, & referred 5, 2 which were 5-star cleaning services! The service I hired to clean up the mess after Refer was CLEANY, a 5-star with over 280 reviews! They can attest to what they saw & had to do after the new Pro arrived! It was just 1 Pro, 3 hours! I didn't go over the work more closely, although I did point out a few things, one being the dust on the Chinese screen in the BR! Jon & his helper M, left my home half wiped down (read the review post) with floors smeared & dirty in many places. After you returned my calls on 11/10 @ 9:12pm, you refused to correct the problem about the floors particularly, and instead, said I was "chasing you down"! What an inappropriate response to a customer who left messages saying they had problems with the service, especially after giving you a $96 tip!! You did not mention a law suit filing during your return call. You are behaving in a dangerously vindictive manner, because of a negative service review. After I posted a review on 12/4/23, you called me the evening of 12/4/23, using a spoofed, disconnected number (which is in my records & I gave to you, but am not supposed to put here) & threatened me saying you were filing a sexual harassment suit for biceps touching & sexual remarks! I immediately called Yelp after hanging up on your threatening call .. scary! Then, I called your mobile and I told you I reported your threatening call to Yelp! Here are some of your lies, & there are more .. LIE: I did not sexually harass you or make sexual remarks while you were cleaning?! Please say what those remarks were! I am a mature senior citizen & certainly didn't find this little man sexually attractive. LIE: You did not "leave immediately for your safety", as you wrote. You didn't just decide to show up because I didn't respond, as you falsely claimed. We spoke & rearranged for another day, 11/10 instead of 11/9, all recorded. LIE: I did not open the door with a bottle of cognac or any liquor in my hand; and I don't drink cognac. LIE: I did not try to put liquor in your pocket. I offered it as a gift to you, which you refused, and pistachio nuts to your helper, who didn't refuse! You should be ashamed of yourself for this dirty, desperate attempt to smear me personally & cover up your less than good clean, and there were 2 of you! I, and my lawyer (as advised by Yelp), are now waiting for your legal paperwork, with proof, regarding "BicepsGate"! We had an empty 2 bdrm that needed a ton of TLC before we had movers come in the next morning. These guys were not only the best, most thorough cleaners, but they were extremely attentive to our appointment, and were the LEAST EXPENSIVE!!! BOOKING: They, like most modern cleaning services, have an easy to use online portal to schedule your appointments, share notes and special instructions with the managing team, and upload your credit card for easy payment. This was my first cleaning ever in this house. We had guests coming over and I had to get the house cleaned in quite a hurry. I reached out to a bunch of house cleaning services and refer cleaning service was most responsive and accommodating to my request. Even before my cleaning, I had to fill out a short questionnaire regarding the state of my house and the areas I wanted to concentrate on. This way the cleaning service knew exactly what to expect and be prepared for. Jonatan was my assigned cleaner. For an adhoc cleaning they assign a arrival time window. I mistook this as my cleaning appointment and when I called the service to confirm the arrival time of my cleaner they were very kind and apologized for the confusion Jonatan was well within the arrival time window and didn't leave my place till it was spotless. He was kind enough to move around my heavy furniture and clean under it ( something that was extra) and take special care of my hardwood floor which was my biggest concern. Closer to the end of the cleaning, he even put on shoe covers so as to not leave any dirt behind ( a pleasant surprise) The whole process took about 3 hours and he was happy to go over the areas where a second look was needed. He also gave me tips on how to better care for the apartment myself. He gave me a sample of their organic cleaner - which left my granite island clean and free of streaks. I set up this cleaning service after finding them on care.com Leticia quickly and very professionally responded. Brianne came over to my house but she ran about 10 mins late, although they did text me and said the trains were delayed. I appreciate the advance notice. The cleaning was pretty good and when I thought Brianne was almost done a home manager came and basically double checked every nook and cranny that I didn't even know existed in my house. They stay for an extra 20 mins cleaning every last detail. The home manager I would say has super OCD which is always a plus when it comes to cleaning. I get biweekly cleanings with Refer and they are AMAZING, give them a try, you won't regret it. I used to do cleanings with another (more widely known) company and the attention to detail was really poor. They didn't clean thoroughly, the dishes and utensils had residue, the floors weren't truly cleaned, I could go on and on. Love their service! I have severe OCD and need my place to be absolutely clean almost all the time. I would spray alcohol if someone came into my place and accidentally step on the floor without taking their shoes off. Also, bathroom floor/mat has 0 hair. Dishes have to be cleaned every night before I go to sleep. When I hired Refer Cleaning Service to come clean my place, I didn't know someone in the world could be more OCD than me. The cleaning service was beyond my expectation! I am taking the time to write this review because they were truly a great service. First, I had just finished renovating our 2 bedroom apartment and found out a day before that I was moving in and needed a "deep clean." I started researching on Yelp for good four star cleaning services with lots of review, and most were booked, because I was looking for next day cleaning on a Thursday which is a popular cleaning day of the week, until I came upon Refer Cleaning Service. Second, I had a laundry list of questions, price, how many people, what supplies they will bring etc...right off the bat they were super responsive and even sent me pictures of the mop they will be using when I was questioning the type of supplies they will be using. I did not want a used mop or toilet cleaner, they said, they bring one time use toilet cleaners. On the day of the clean, Nicole and the Jon showed up early to the appointment. I had booked them for 3 hours, and they stayed for 7 hours, and only charged me for the flat rate they had quoted me! I insisted I pay more, they said no, they will charge me what they said they will upfront. They spent a whole hour in one bedroom only! After cleaning each area they would ask me to look it over to see if I was satisfied? It was a post construction job and there was A Lot of dust, and they went over some areas several times. Then came the bathroom, they scrubbed it so clean I could see my reflection in the glass shower door and tiles, and even pointed out that part of my glass shower door was scratched from construction. The cleaning was very professional, thorough, and they did not leave a spot uncleaned. Jon was very helpful in recommending some products that are natural and not chemical based for future cleanings. He even left me a mop and a white sponge to do touch up cleaning the next day, since I did not have my cleaning supplies yet. I highly recommend them, and will definitely use them again. read more

I first tried refer cleaning 2 weeks ago and just had my second cleaning with them and I have to say they are amazing. The cleaner assigned to my house, Lande, and my household manager Jonathan exceeded my expectation on all fronts and they are so much better than any other cleaning companies I've tried in nyc. I've tried cleaning services from amazon (results were just fine, but i was not convinced to use again) and another very high end, very expensive cleaning company ("organic"/"luxury"/"household consultation" - charges 2x what refer is charging) and refer excels on all levels. Timeliness - Lande has always arrived 15-20 minutes prior to the scheduled time and never leaves early. You are always getting 15-20 mins more of her time. The cleaner from the luxury company arrives late ("subway issues") and leaves early because the "work is done". I think timeliness speak volumes of a cleaning company, their management, and cleaners since we are paying by the hour. The first time I used refer I also had a complimentary fridge cleaning. The manager, Jonathan, came for the last hour of my appointment and did a very through cleaning of the fridge and inspected Lande's work. They both ended up staying beyond the scheduled time to make sure the quality is up to par. Cleaning - Lande is great, very attentive to details. I've asked her to use the cleaning supplies I prefer for my household and everything gets finished up as I would expect. I would also note that she is very good with pets and understands how to work around them. My cat actually loves her (unlike the previous cleaner), meows and asks for pets from her, and I'm glad i don't have to be home for every cleaning appointment just to make sure my cat is safe. The team we're easy to communicate with, and as we'd vacated the property already, they sent before and after photos of the job, which we couldn't be happier with.
