Received filler and Botox from Dr. Ellern and felt compelled to write a review. My babysitter cancelled at the last minute so I had to take my 2 little ones with me. The staff was amazingly supportive and helpful with that situation. I got a consult- no pressure to do the service/ which made me want to do it. Dr Ellern was caring and artistic in her technique. I had a terrible experience with Botox a few years ago due to a naturally low brow/ something that Dr. Ellern immediately noticed. I couldn't be more happy with the filler results. I can't comment on the Botox yet because it hasn't set it. I left happy and comfortable, knowing that if I DID have an issue I'm sure that she would do her best to fix it. Thanks!! read more

Treated by Dr Verity Johnson for hyperpigmentation on chest using Q switch laser. Very unhappy with results, I now have several patches of hypopigmentation, area looks worse than before treatment. I was told by another provider that I was treated too aggressively and this should not have been the outcome with an experienced provider. So upsetting to have wasted thousands of dollars. read more

Called in July to see what availability would be like for the day, I told them I'd call them back to confirm once I make sure I'd be able to get off from work. Unfortunately I wasn't able to confirm the appointment because work was too crazy that day, but figured nothing was set in stone since I made it clear I had to check first to see if I could come in. Fast forward a few weeks later I call in to schedule an appointment and they wouldn't allow me to unless I pay for a bogus "no show" fee for an appointment that was never confirmed or made. Guess they'd rather lose out on 800+ in Botox over a 75 dollar made up fee for an appointment that was never made. Tons of other locations in NJ. See ya! read more

Not a place I would recommend, been trying to schedule a consultation for days now and haven't heard back, I sent a follow up email and nothing, very disappointing, i'm glad i found a better place and doesn't require my credit card information prior to my appt., although that's not the issue is the lack of professionalism to get back to me, first they contacted me via text and I tried scheduling an appoint and nothing, they sent an email asking how I would like to schedule my appt. (i said via email) and they call me (i was working so couldn't answer) but i emailed them the information they asked, still no response, i sent the follow up email and still no response. My niece and her friend received botox for their elevens as a gift from family members including myself. They had to go back because the movement still existed in the forehead between the eyes and were charged again. The treatment didn't work and they spent over $1200. No apologies or fixing their incompetence. My nieces now go to a spa that used 1/4 of the amount of botox and their elevens are gone. Knowing the best injection sites are obviously important. The one doctor told my sister that they couldn't do anything for her neck and gave a doctor's number who does surgery. She was made to feel terrible about herself and was told they couldn't do anything for her. She went somewhere else and received a threading and rf needling and looks fantastic now. No surgery. I feel that they don't push procedures, if they honestly feel it's not appropriate, they won't do it. As far as the cost, I don't believe in bargain shopping when it comes to procedures and their prices are on par with other highly qualified doctors. What a warm, friendly atmosphere! From the moment O walked in, I was greeted calmly by the receptionist. During the actual consultation and appointment, Dr. Johnson and her assistant very informative and descriptive about the laser beam to be used on my rosacea-related facial Marks. The price was very fair and much cheaper than I'd be been quoted at other places. The laser procedure itself took only 10 minutes. Dr. Johnson was very thorough in her treatment, making sure she lasered each part neatly and completely. When all was done, it was a quick check out process as well. I wouldn't even give this business ONE star. I had a consult with Dr Ellern, and I left in tears. I told her how excited I was for the consult and before I could even finish a sentence, she essentially told me there's nothing they could do for me. She made me feel terrible about myself, as if she's never seen anything "worse". I was mortified and so disheartened. When I told her I was going to leave and put my clothes back on her response was simply, "ok" and she left the room. NO one has made me feel worse than Dr Ellern at Reflections. Back in May I had micro needling with PRP with Dr Ellern. After my procedure it wasn't pretty, but I figured that just went with the procedure. Fast forward to now September and I'm still dealing with the issue. I ended up with a hard bump under my rt eye and my left eye area is always bumpy. I asked Dr Ellern if it would go away and her answer was "I don't know. I have never seen this". So that wasn't very reassuring! I was then put on prednisone before my vacation and needless to say I wasn't pleasant, oh and in between that my daughter had her engagement party. So the latest is I went back 2 weeks ago for a cortisone shot into the bump and still hasn't helped. This was my 4 th trip back and I live an hr away. They did agree to give me a refund when I asked but I would need to drive another hr to sign paperwork! They will not send it to me when i asked. I do not recommend Reflections. In fact, I strongly warn any potential customer about their misleading practices and unsafe procedures. In 2017 I had a consultation with Dr. Chasin & Dr. Karolak about possible rejuvenation procedures for face and neck. They persuasively recommenced several options including surgery. I decided to try Botox and Restylane fillers. Both Dr. Chasin & Dr. Karolak acted friendly and knowledgeable. However, the method and the products that they used for the injections caused swelling, scars and spots on my face that are still visible today in 2020. A complete waste of money and more importantly I ended up with damages on my face. The overall experience was horrible. I discourage anyone who is thinking of going to this place. read more

Had underarm laser hair removal done here probably about 8 years ago. Best decision I've ever made! To this day even tho they said you have to do yearly maintenance nothing grows back. We discussed when making the appointment how much each session was, the preparation before getting it done, if you get it done same day as consultation there is a discount. I stated I would be getting the service that day. The day before Reflections called to confirm the appointment and to make sure you shave the night before. I showed up to my appointment. The doctor was almost a half hour late then told me today was for a consultation only and she was behind schedule and couldn't do it at all today. I went for consult, they won't make an appt unless you give them a credit card so they can charge if you don't show for your free consult. I got there and called per COVID instructions but no one answered so I just walked in. Spoke to there patient registration staff and was immediately told that dr only had 15 min for free consult and he would not discuss anything else except acne scars. She also said he is NOT a Determatologist, only cosmetic surgeon. She made me sign a pad supposedly for covid consent as no text was present. She took pics and then dr C and Dr E, walked in and basically told they do NOT do subscision and for my mild scars they said I should go to plastic surgeon. I asked for a referral and they told me I should ask my insurance for referral, that the one they work with retired. I came here a few months ago to get a consult for cool sculpting for my abdomen and legs. The doctor, Dr. Wix-Harris, came in after some photos were taken and said I would need a tummy tuck and a thigh lift because I had so much stretched skin. She wasn't really empathetic at all and basically turned me away. She didn't recommend a plastic surgeon...nothing. I went and got a second opinion. Guess what? I just finished my first round of cool sculpting last month and the start of my results are AMAZING. Thank you for not servicing me and being completely unprofessional about it. I am glad I gave my money to a different provider. I guess I didn't have "so much stretched skin" like she said because my stomach is getting flatter as I type. read more

I am also here to add on low star review. Back in 2013 i did the ulthera procedure for hyperhydrosis. I did it in manhattan office which closed shortly after. The technician who did the procedure did not do it right, i had my fingers numb for a long time, close to a month. And should i mention the horrible aftereffect? I could not put my arms down it was so painful. I was ok with all of that because i wanted to get rid of excessive sweat once and for all. I was assures it was a permanent solution because ultrasound kills the sweat glands, leaving only some for me to sweat like a regular person. Then I had to drive to nj for a follow up about numbness and the doctor could not explain why. Needless to say i was still sweating a lot. so they had to redo it all over again. The time passed and i started noticing that the excess sweat came back, i'd say a year later. I've been going through some personal stuff but finally decided to call back the office and ask what they could offer to fix the problem? THEY CAN'T! They do not offer this treatment anymore! Wow! And the lady said this procedure was NEVER permanent solution! Whaaaat?! She said they are doing something else now but that costs a lot!!! People if you ever decide to do anything at this place - do research! Ask questions, and record them so later you have some evidence to back yourself up! 2 stars because the procedure made a bit easier for me to feel comfortable in my own skin for a year. read more

When I met Dr. Karolak, he was nothing short of a true gentleman. In addition to that, it was evident that he is a true expert in his field. He took the time to analyze my skin and concerns, and by no means did I feel "rushed". He is an excellent listener and very detailed in explaining what he is going to do and what he would recommend. He is conservative, honest, and professionally straight forward.Reflections is an amazing center as is, but I highly recommend Karolak specifically. A tip: he typically has a tighter schedule than most, so you always want to book about 3 weeks in advance. I would stay away from this place unless you've got a bunch of money burning a hole in your pocket and you feel like throwing it at some fat cat doctor. My fiance was having some major breakouts so she came here for isolaze treatments. During the initial consultation, the staff was extremely optimistic saying she was a great candidate. My fiance asked what if it didn't work. They responded "oh, it'll work." Can you see where this is going? Way to get someone's hopes really high, jerks. Here's how everything went down from my perspective: So, she bought four treatments as a package for $1260. Ridiculous in my opinion but what do i know. I'm just a guy. One treatment goes by and she's like "oh it's only one treatment, it takes some time to start working." Doctor prescribes some ridiculously expensive meds and creams and whatnot. Appointment 2 - no change. Some sort of billing snafu that resulted in a confrontation with the nasty billing department. Whoever she is, she's rude. Everyone else is nice but that's not enough to overcome my one star rating. If anything, they'd be the only reason they get a one star rating. Otherwise I'd be writing the whole cliche "if i could give this place 0 stars, I would... yada yada yada" Appointment 3 - maybe a minor change? If there is, I sure can't tell... Uh oh... this treatment isn't really working. Everyone at the office starts getting defensive. Doctor prescribes more meds. Appointment 4 - last treatment. Oh, yeah the doctor sees "some" improvement. I'm no dermatologist but I don't see it. Fiance says "but you said this would definitely work." Doctor says "well we're pretty much throwing the kitchen sink at you" Nice deflecting answer. Well the kitchen sink must have have been slathered in pizza grease because her face is still breaking out (her words, not mine). So much for the "guarantee." Over 1200 bucks straight down the drain (over $1500 if you include the meds). So, now that this treatment has obviously failed, now what? Well, how about we shoot some more freaking lasers at it! They print up an estimate for another four treatments that will run over 2600 dollars. What are you, nuts? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. The billing manager is rude. From the way that she acts, I am guessing that a lot of the treatments don't work and she has to deal with the fallout. Maybe it's not her fault but if anything, it just confirms that a lot of what this place does is just straight up BS. If you have a really bright light, just sit in front of it for 20 minutes instead of coming here. You'll get the same effect but your wallet will be much heavier. read more

I have been very happy with Reflections Center and have had a few procedures done over the past several years. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome and Dr. Chasin is fantastic. First, I had age spots removed. While the laser didn't eliminate every single spot, it was a drastic improvement. After two weeks of darkened spots, they just fell off. Unfortunately, the spots will not come off my hands, but it wasn't for lack of trying. Dr. Chasin tried several different lasers, and while it did lighten them, those spots aren't going anywhere. Next, when my daughter kept asking why I looked mad all the time, I got Botox on my forehead to ease the deep furrows between my eyebrows. Now I no longer look like I am constantly frowning. For the past year when I looked in the mirror, I was looking so tired, so my last procedure was to fill in the "tear troughs" and laugh lines. Putting some volume back in my face makes me look about 10 years younger and looking in the mirror is no longer depressing! What I especially like is that I never look "done". Dr. Chasin has a good eye and a light hand. People have commented lately that I'm looking good, but they can't put their finger on exactly what it is. read more

Yes, it is an expense, but then again - if you need to try to repair any damage to your skin or try to maintain what you have - you need to be prepared to budget the expense into your lifestyle. I read these reviews before I decided to post mine, any negative from those complaining about the expense should just save their money and grow old gracefully. I for one, am going to do what I can to improve and maintain my skin. I am satisfied with this facility and the staff is gracious and friendly. The doctors are knowledgeable, spend time with you and I had a facial peel by the woman and she was very pleasant. This treatment did not work--there was more hair on my arms after the hair removal treatment than before. Additionally, this place does not have good customer service. (I first want to preface that I am only giving 4 stars because I want to see how my final results turn out). I was referred to this office by a friend. I want to finally take care of acne scarring on my face. The results on their page are fairly dramatic, and I will be getting married in a year, so I wanted it taken care of more than ever! The office is beautiful, all members of the staff are knowledgeable and kind. I decided to go with Microneedling (4 sessions at $600/each). As of this point I've only had one session. The process wasn't painful (the prepped me with numbing cream), they were very informative and answered all my questions, and I'm about to go for my 2nd session this week. Honestly, they said it would take 3-6 months to begin seeing results, but I swear this week my skin has already started looking better. I really can't wait to see the end results! There are a lot of people on here complaining about cost. Honestly - what would make anyone think these procedures would be cheap? Would it be great if it cost less? Well, obviously yes, but I never expected this to be a low-cost procedure. I've gone for consults with other groups and the price is just about the same. I have no complaints - I knew what I was in for and have no problem spending the money to get my face fixed after what feels like a lifetime of wanting it done. So in summary - so far, so good. I really loved this place. It is a little pricey, but it was worth it. I have adult acne and nothing seemed to work. I hate Proactive and over the counter creams alone weren't working. I went to another dermatologist in the area and I found them really cold and stuffy, so I decided to give this place a try. After my inital consultation, I did the smooth beam treatment for 4 months and I saw a huge improvement. Dr. Chasin also started me on a different combination of topical creams and he took time to discuss each with me. The staff is very polite; I didn't feel like a was walking into a place where I "didn't belong." I would recommend this place- hands down. I would go back...I am going back. The parking is a little tight for large SUVs, but its manageable. read more

I tried to get a consultation for skin tightening or whatever the best option is for me whether it be ST, Laser Lipo or Cool Sculpting and the doctor would not even give me a consultation (because I have Enhlers Danlos which a symptom is loose skin). I told the receptionist my condition is not severe and I have been approved by other doctors for these procedures, I simply wanted Dr. Chasin's input because I loved following him on snap chat. He refused to even give me a proper explanation as to why he wouldn't consult with me. Then there was another person with yucky reviews upset that the doctors IG account shows someones body being "bigger" than theres yet the docotr saying thats not the procedure he would reccomend for them to get done. And your mad?! I would love nothing more than a doctor to be honest with me as opposed to doing a procedure that is not suited for th eoutcome I desire or better yet not suited for my health wise. Its funny cause that is the EXACT reason I have been a patient of Dr Chasins since 2007! Yes this year is actually our 10 year anniversary LOL. Yes Im sure there are cheaper doctors and doctors that will perform any type of thing you want done. But me personally those are the doctors I run from. Those doctors I imagine practice unsafely, maybe even have less of a product they are claiming, even a knock off brand of such, and those are the doctors that will give you a third breast implant, so long as you have the money for it; with no regard to how insane you would look afterwards. Any case I love Dr Chasin, i truely trust him with anything and everything in the cosmetic department. I have had skin issues that are from the sun and genetics. Most recently I had the Q Refresh laser and Im two weeks in and I swear I see a big difference already. I had my tattoo removed which was a big big tattoo, with three underneath it. Needless to say I love the end result! I had EXILIS going back, I am extremly happy with the results. I have had friends and family get procedures from there extra skin removed under their neck and their arms, to laser lipo, botox, fillers, cool sculpting. Every single person is now a long term patient of Dr Chasins. Yes, things cost money, some more than others. But there are many ways his office will work with you. I am living proof on that. This is and will always be my go to place. I know I can trust them, and their staff makes me feel welcomed and helps with any questions I have. Short story: id recommend this place if you have a money tree or jus rich in whatever way. Long story: Ill start by saying im not doing this review for any Reflections' incentive offers. There's nothing really wrong with this place i just cant afford to continuously come to a place like this. Based on what the star ratings signify, i rated it 3 Stars. I went to reflections because it was one of the few places in the area offering Fraxel laser. Ive been advised by every dermatologist that knows about Fraxel that i need to have it done. I had a consultation here, which was free, as it should be. The Dr told me she'd recommend 6 Fraxel laser sessions or more. Then they give u the breakdown of how much it is per session and WOW that's a lot. Fraxel is an overpriced laser imo. It's pretty much close to $2,000 per session. I needed 6 sessions, you do the math. I told them straight up that im a college student trying to graduate and i simply cant afford that. They worked with me and brought it down a couple hundred :/. i went home and asked my dad if he would pls pay for it cuz it's something i wanted more than anything cuz ive grown up with acne scarring,that til this day keeps my self esteem shattered. My dad said he'd pay for one. so i had the procedure done and fraxel HURTS! i imagine it's like getting tattoos on ur whole face or maybe worse, idk cuz i dont have any tattoos. The fraxel took about 10 minutes+ and i paid well close to $2000 after the "discount". was it worth it? id have to say no. while i did see results with the fraxel, i kno that fraxel, and reflections are thing of Luxury That i shouldve never started if i cant afford it. only the super rich can afford to really take advantage of the services that reflections has to offer. i hope to one day I make enough to have my remaining fraxel sessions done and bring my self esteem back that i havent had since i was a teenager before puberty. My first Fraxel Restore treatment with Dr. Karolak went very very well. I had expected pain and there was none! ! It is a strange feeling but not painful.Dr. Karolak was great and he told me to return for another in six weeks. A patient would likely need at least three for best results. Two weeks later , I also had Botox by the other doctor at Reflections. That too went well (although I expected to see Dr. Karolak and in came Dr. Chasin.) if you are considering Fraxel, or Botox, go for it. You will not have pain.
