I joined Reflections in October of 2011. I had dabbled in yoga before, mainly through dvd's and wanted to see what a class experience would be like. One class and I was hooked. Reflections offers a variety of styles and levels of yoga that suits mood, fitness and ability. The teachers are experienced, knowledgable and thoughtful. I've learned so much about myself and what I can do! I've lost body fat, gained muscle, increased flexibility and balance. I feel better and have greater peace of mind. I am calm. The workshops offered help further my knowledge, setting a firmer foundation for making living healthy sustainable. I have found new friends at Reflections...it is an encouraging atmosphere where all are welcome. At first I was worried about being judged. Never the case. People concentrate on what is happening on their own mat. I quickly learned that this a time for me, the more I focus on my mat the more stress relief i receive...away from work, away from home, away from the daily struggle of life. Reflections is a warm, welcoming, comfortable place to be. The instruction is professional and safety is always top of mind. I've gotten better because I was always given alternative pose options to guide me to my best. Personal direction in a group of friends in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. WOW. Although I love to workout I was a total yoga newbie when I first started at Reflections in early 2011. My initial goal was to find ways to better deal with stress and the overwhelming anxiety in my life but what I gained by becoming part of their community has been far beyond anything I could have imagined. There are definite fitness benefits I've seen, increased muscle tone, overall strength and just much happier with the way I look now than ever before!, but unlike a gym membership, I feel like I'm part of something bigger & better at RYC. I can't wait to get there and am always sad when class is over. Everyone is so welcoming and what they say is true: No judgements. I never feel self conscious even when I can't do something in class or lose my flow...often times we even laugh about it after! Their philosophy of honoring your body has changed my life. Sometimes you show up to class and you just don't have it in you to do anything but you know you'll feel better just by being there. When that happens, and it does!, you can just sit in the back of class, in child's pose, whatever you want / need, and everyone respects your place. Finding this yoga studio was the best thing that happened to me in years. I am 59 years old and had practiced yoga previously on a daily basis with a wonderful instructor. A new job and a leg injury took me away from it for about 3 years. I was determined to start again, and went to health clubs and found that what was practiced there was more of an exercise class than yoga as I knew it. The first time I went to the Sunday class in Homewood with Karen, I cried, I was so happy to have found true yoga again. I am going to take teacher training there and when I retire, hope to teach yoga for Seniors. They are the BEST!!! read more

I have been practicing yoga at Reflections since the business opened. Reflections works for me because it is nearby, offers a wide variety of classes, instructors and times.Both my physical and mental health have improved. They also offer a variety of payment packages that make my practice affordable. If you are bothered by stress, muscle or joint pain, or a lack of balance, flexibility or strength I encourage you to try yoga. There is no pill for good health, it takes effort. The 200 hr teacher training is a wonderful program that encompasses all of the aspects of yoga and is taught by knowledgeable teachers who truly care about your understanding and progression. I would recommend to anyone. The classes at the center are greatly varied and they offer several workshops. All of the teachers are friendly and lead great classes. read more

Reflections Yoga Center in Homewood is a very welcoming place, along with many authentic classes to choose from. The studio and rooms are very clean and well kept. The yoga classes have in depth spirit to their practices with the instructors guiding you all the way through the class. read more

This studio in a gem in the south suburbs. They teach several styles of yoga and have meditation classes, tai chi and cool workshops, as well. It's a welcoming, friendly place. The staff are experts. It's a great place to practice and to call home. read more
