Best yoga studio in NWI! Heather, the owner of the studio, knows what she's doing. She took her studio in Chicago and did everyone in northwest Indiana a favor and brought it here. It is GORGEOUS! The entire team of instructors are professionally trained and available and willing to answer questions. Even with master yogis practicing around me, the instructors are accommodating, comfortable and you never feel intimidated. I enjoy evening courses with Amy and Laura - both are challenging but fun and lighthearted. I would love it they had a larger list of class times! They offered a January special which I purchased and used entirely, but now I've been going much less and paying $15/class. A steep price for NWI but still less than a comparable class in the city if Chicago. I'm still easily giving them 5 stars without hesitation because you get what you pay for! These women are pros and you feel fulfilled and serene after the completion of any class. I've recommended PurePower to a ton of friends and will continue to. Love this place! read more

I won't go anywhere else. Can confirm, this studio is hands down, the best in the NWI area. I would even be so bold as to say that I've preferred these classes to some of the many classes I've taken downtown Chicago and Los Angeles. I like to think I am a fairly advanced yogi, but each class still leaves me feeling challenged and afterwards very zen! Each one of the instructors brings something unique to the table, so as a student who practices multiple days a week, the classes never seem stale or monotonous. Each is accommodating to new students and first time yogis, as well as pushing those more advanced to try new asanas, even offering hands-on assistance and taking requests for in-depth instruction of specific poses. The studio is always spotless and inviting..never, ever smelly (unlike a certain other hot studio in the area...) My suggestion is to get there early (studio opens 30 minutes before class) to reserve your mat space. Some classes fill up quickly. read more

Visiting my in-laws for the week and needed somewhere to workout. I'm a huge fan of Core Power Yoga (in most big cities) so u was delighted to find this studio that also offered Sculpt. Overall, beautiful studio, great instructor, and challenging series. I would've preferred just a little more "sculpting" in he sculpt class, as it was pretty much a power yoga class with about 10 minutes of weight work dispersed. Only four stars for the heat. It wasn't very hot! I would've loved it to be about 10 degrees warmer in there. If you're looking for a boutique fitness studio without driving into Chicago - this is a solid spot! read more

I took my very first Restorative Yoga class at this studio with John with a friend that lives in Munster and now I'm HOOKED on Restorative Yoga! This magical yoga keeps me calm for at least 2 days. I swear my blood pressure drops after this class. John is so helpful and offers modifications and explanations that improve this practice. He is wonderful at differentiating the class to every level. I purchased a Groupon 10 pack, but the studio is currently running a special for 10 classes for 75.00 with a year expiration for the month of May. The studio owner Heather is awesome and is very accessible to answer questions! The studio seems to have a great schedule for the week, I live in Chicago so I can only make it to weekend classes. Bring your own mat and water to save $. There are mats for a small rental fee and you can buy bottled water. read more

If you do not want to contract COVID-19, and are concerned about your health and the health of your family, do not attend yoga classes at Pure Power Hot Yoga located at 2645 Main Street in Highland, Indiana. The studio owner, Heather Nelson is extremely unprofessional and DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HER PAYING CUSTOMERS, nor does she respond to their concerns. I purchased a 10 class package at this yoga studio just prior to it temporarily closing because of the nation wide shut down of businesses and stay-at-home order, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was only able to redeem two of the 10 classes I paid for before the shutdown. The studio was closed for about 10 weeks, and upon Heather's reopening of Pure Power, she sent out emails and posted her new reopening safety guidelines and requirements on her website. She stated that class size would be reduced to 15 people max and masks would be required in the reception area to insure that everyone would be safe and able to socially distance at 6 feet apart while practicing yoga. I returned to Pure Power Hot Yoga for the first time in 12 weeks, last Thursday 6/18/20 , for a 10am class, with my mask on and feeling confident about the guidelines Heather claimed to have put in place to insure my safety. I have to be extremely careful because my husband has underlying health conditions that put him at great risk if he were to contract COVID-19. Upon entering the reception area and yoga studio, I was mortified to see that NO ONE, not even staff members were wearing masks! The safety guidelines on Heather's website are false and completely misleading. The yoga studio was so over crowded, beyond the 15 person max...that made it IMPOSSIBLE to social distance at 6 feet while participating in class. Most yogis know that yoga encourages a lot of deep breathing and expelling the breath from the body with an OPEN MOUTH throughout the entire practice. This is hardly safe or sanitary in a small, overcrowded room heated to 90 degrees with no air flow and not a mask covering a mouth in sight! I did not feel safe and was so upset, that I did not stay to participate in class. I left 10 minutes after witnessing all of the many safety violations. I had driven 40 minutes from home in Illinois, and had completely wasted my time and entire morning. I emailed Heather Nelson that same day to inform her of all the Indiana state guideline and CDC guideline violations I witnessed in her studio and to request a refund for my eight remaining classes. I explained why her facility and overcrowded studio environment is unhealthy for me, due to my husband's underlying health conditions. I even attached a copy of Indiana's state guidelines for social distancing in fitness facilities and requirements that employees and staff have to wear masks. Heather COMPLETELY ignored me, and has not responded to my email or safety concerns in almost a week! Heather has met me before and knows that I am African-American. So, basically she just took my money and ran and does not value me or my concerns as a paying customer, regarding safety during a pandemic that there is still no cure or vaccination for. I really hope her blowing me off has nothing to do with me being black, however my intuition and her unprofessional, disregarding actions toward me, tells me my suspicions are correct. I am visiting town this week and needed a place to continue my practice. Pure Power delivered this. The studio is incredibly nice with plenty of space for all the things one may need at a yoga studio such as bathrooms, lockers, and showers. Might not seem like much, but my yoga studio is TINY back home, so I appreciate the space. The space is also open, clean, and inviting. Also, the staff is helpful and kind. In fact, I got into crow pose (which I've never managed) with the advice of one of their instructors. read more

It's been a few years since my first visit and I still love the studio. So what should I say about it. Prices are in line with the area and it's hot yoga where most other studios do not offer it. The space is the best in NWI with the windows and sun coming in. And they have great teachers. I'm guessing the person who gave it one star is some sort of CRAZY PERSON, because the teachers and owner are nice and supportive and there's a great community with diverse yogis in age, experience levels, ethnic background, whatever. read more

I really enjoyed this hot yoga class! I think the thermostat said 95 degrees. The instructor was a great guide for beginners and was able to make it more challenging for the experienced. I left feeling great physically and mentally. I highly recommend you try it out. read more

Excellent studio in NWI. I've been practicing Bikram for about four years, & was skeptical of my ability to switch up my practice while in town. The small studio is beautifully kept--clean as a whistle! There's no showers, but changing rooms & cubbies are available. I only wish I'd been able to attend a couple of more classes before my visit was over. This is my go-to place from now on when I come home. read more

A year ago I moved out of state and have not been able to find a studio that compares to the classes she offers or to the wonderful instructors at Pure Power.
