After she extracted a tooth which developed problems she pummelled the socket so badly I had a lump the size of a baseball on my jaw. As a result of one of them - I'll never know which - I wound up with the worst cast of C-Diff they had ever seen at our local hospital. I called to inform her of this - She immediately became defensive and rude. I stressed I was calling to inform her not blame her, but she just rattled on about how well-educated she was. (She should have taken a year in communication and courtesy). A simple "I'm sorry" would have sufficed since I stressed I was not interested in litigation. Avoid this dentist like the plague.

Their prices for services not covered by my insurance are much lower than the same service provided elsewhere. The staff is very kind, professional, and competent. They also treat many people with severe disabilities, including non-verbal individuals with significant intellectual impairments. It is very difficult to find dentists willing to treat people with disabilities that prevent them from understanding what a dentist is, why they need to see one, or what is happening while they are there. The staff at Hampshire Family Dental are very kind, patient, and reassuring while working with these individuals and all all the patients who were being treated while I was there. I cannot recommend this practice more highly.

The whole office was welcoming, efficient, and understanding. I wasn't sure whether I would just live with the chip, but Dr. Teddi carefully examined the tooth and after using her imaging machine to show me the problem I agreed to have it repaired. As she went through the process, she explained everything beforehand and answered all my questions about the tooth. The work was painless and quick, and my tooth looks and feels great. I also liked the way everyone was treated in the office. Dr. Teddi was considerate with her assistant, Kevin, and kind with the dental student observing her work (she observed with my permission). While I recognize that this was my first experience at the office, the respect shown between everyone and the good communication skills I saw were obviously developed over time. Highly recommend.

The two Doctors…read moreWohl (Martin, the senior Wohl, and Carina, the junior Wohl) and the third doctor Steed have taken excellent care of my teeth for six or seven years. (Yes, I live on the west coast now, but my spouse and I still belong to their practice exclusively because we are really attached to our dentists!) The dentists and their staff are caring, personable, knowledgeable, and gentle. Over the years, I've had some fillings done, and it has been with kind hands every time. I look for high technical competency, as well as excellent bedside manner in my healthcare providers, and the Wohl Family Practice team fits my needs, and then some. I've visited many dentists in my life, and many dental specialists. These dentists are the best I've ever had. It's a real gift to my family and to the community that the Wohl team is in the world, and I would believe this even if juggling weren't a prerequisite for all their on-staff dentists. But the juggling doesn't hurt.

But when I lost a filling and started experiencing some bad pain, I knew I was gonna have to go. Dr. Darabi and the rest of the Apex Dental crew in Florence have certainly changed my tune. I can not recommend this dental office enough. All of the office associates, hygienists, and doctors are exceptionally kind, welcoming, and professional. Dr. Darabi explained everything he was doing throughout the appointment and made sure to check that I was always comfortable as the procedure went on. He was totally non-judgmental about my lapse in dental care & very straightforward about the work that would need to be done. If you haven't been to the dentist in a while, worried about your lack of flossing, or still have the fear of a 9 year old with a cavity...I can say that Apex Dental will make it a whole lot easier to get that check-up.

Two days prior to my appointment they told me to get authorization "from a doctor so that they can prescribe antibiotics". In desperation I called my primary care physician, who told me Crestal can prescribe antibiotics. I called Crestal back the next day, told them what the doctor said, and hey presto! All of a sudden they can prescribe - after wasting hours of my time. I am a schoolteacher. I *repeatedly* told Crestal not to call me during school hours. They called me EIGHT TIMES IN TWO DAYS, during school hours. Finally I made it plain to them - I have autistic students, students with no English, I am not permitted to make or receive calls during the school day, so STOP CALLING. The chirpy little twitch on the phone then told me, "Well then! If you won't talk with us when we want, this isn't the office for you, so now your appointment is cancelled!" and SLAMMED DOWN THE PHONE. They're snotty, disrespectful and generally unpleasant. I communicated all of this to my referring dentist, who was happy to refer me to another office. I called that new office and they told me that there should never have been an issue about things 15 years ago, or antibiotics, or any of it, it was all unnecessary. I literally couldn't eat or DRINK anything for two weeks and had extensive issues with the same for a mont. I lost 20 lbs as a result and was only 120 lbs when I went to see him. The graft, especially from the right of my pallet, has permanent nerve damage. I can feel where the graft was to this day and it was 2 years ago. The whole process was difficult and I didn't receive support on what to do with the issues I was having after. I was often not treated as a valued patient. I would seek out a different perio dentist. Before this, I had no fear or hesitation with dentists. Now I am definitely scared on any future work I may need.
