Dr. Perry is one of the most compassionate doctors in this field. She will explain everything to you and walk you through every step. I can't promise if you don't like needles that you will love this office. It's an unfortunate circumstance of the procedure. The staff is all very balanced and coordinated. I caught myself saying wow several times when the doctor and her assistant Sarah were going constantly back-and-forth with the different tools needed and very little discussion was necessary. In the end, it didn't look so good for my tooth, and she gave me some very real options to discuss with my dentist after she sends some great 3-D imaging to him with a detailed letter. She explained that we could do the procedure and it might last a year, or I might choose to have an extraction. She values her work, and she would expect that any work she does would last him a long time if it is to be done properly. My last procedure done in 2001 has given me no problems at all. I always have the option of going back and finishing my procedure if I choose, and I would not have to pay the full fee. This is an example of an A+ office.

They first treated me fir a dental emergency even though I was not their patient. When Thomas Cleary began accepting new patients we immediately applied. The doctor did a comprehensive consultation and discussed our goals and pointed out issues which needed attention proposing options and prioritization. Very thorough and congenial. The entire team is efficient and friendly. The front office are so pleasant in their communications. The hygienist who did my first cleaning was very thorough and gave me explanations of what she was doing and where and how to improve my daily oral hygiene. This is a truly professional practice with pristine facilities and they treat you cordially and warmly. Wonderful!

They are about the least condescending medical providers I've ever known, and in all ways are professional, courteous and accommodating. Let's just take this as an example. Now I despise strangers calling me by my first name; it is rude and utterly non-professional. So I put down "Mr. T_______." And sure enough, they call me that, each and every one, without fail, without bobbling, every time. They ask questions. They sit down with you to plan out what work needs doing, what's affordable, and they LISTEN. If you're anywhere within striking range of Cleary, and you need dental work, give them your business.

The procedure was quick and painless, except for the slight Novacaine jabs at the start. The associate kept me relaxed, and the surgeon worked quickly and thoroughly. There were no problems with the recovery and it was just as they said it would be. All of their explanations and professionalism took away any fear I had. They saw me right away and I had my X-rays done by the only nice person I met in the building. I then saw the dental hygienist. It seemed like the entire point of her "exam" was to shame and scare me into spending an absurd amount of money on their dental plan. When I told her it had been a while since my last cleaning, she said "I can tell." She showed me a photo of my gums and said "Do these look like healthy gums to you?" The dentist dismissed my pain and blamed it on a medication I've been taking for months. After you have your visit, they have you check out with a sales person disguised as an associate who tries to pressure you into signing up for their high interest credit plan. They said my treatment plan would cost approximately $7,000 with insurance. When I stated I couldn't afford that, she said she would check with the dentist to see what was "absolutely necessary." It can back to around $4000. I left. I went to Baystate Dental the next day and paid $80 for a procedure that alleviated my pain. I'll have another procedure for the same cost in six months and my issue should be resolved - a far cry from $7000. I'm a medical professional myself and I would never make a patient feel this way. I know that in these times many people have to choose between daily living costs and medical care. Maybe I would have fallen for their scheme if they treated me with any type of respect and understanding, as I was in so much pain. This practice is clearly exploiting vulnerable people with dental emergencies and using high pressure sales tactics to get people to spend money they don't have. I'd recommend going anywhere else.
