He said upfront that he could pay half the money for the visit and would need to be billed for the rest. They flat out refused to take a look at him because he didn't have full payment. He was practically in tears from the pain and they sent him on his way. He begged them to help him. Terrible thing to do to a person in need.

I had a chipped tooth fixed by Dr.Teddi at this dental office. This was my first visit and when I…read moreneed dental work again I will certainly return. The whole office was welcoming, efficient, and understanding. I wasn't sure whether I would just live with the chip, but Dr. Teddi carefully examined the tooth and after using her imaging machine to show me the problem I agreed to have it repaired. As she went through the process, she explained everything beforehand and answered all my questions about the tooth. The work was painless and quick, and my tooth looks and feels great. I also liked the way everyone was treated in the office. Dr. Teddi was considerate with her assistant, Kevin, and kind with the dental student observing her work (she observed with my permission). While I recognize that this was my first experience at the office, the respect shown between everyone and the good communication skills I saw were obviously developed over time. Highly recommend.

They didn't even…read moreknow me, but took me in that day, stayed late, followed up diligently - the dentist even called me over the weekend to check on me, as did the hygienist and office manager over the next few weeks. They put ethics over money (not that you don't have to pay, but they work with you, without you losing your dignity, and make it seem their idea). The dentist sees everyone and you can tell standards are high. I've had A LOT of experiences with dentists in the area, and this is the first practice at which I felt everyone was on the same page, everyone knows me, and everyone is both human and therapeutic. I have been "fired" from every dentist in Hamp because I hate going and miss appointments - I've been treated so well I actually show up for everything. In this climate of health care, (and I work in health care) pulling off having a modern, efficient, clinically excellent dental practice while remaining welcoming and engaged is not easy. Thank you all - I do credit Dr. Clayton for likely setting the tone and high expectations, however it's clear that the entire staff - at least the three hygienists, two assistants, office manager, receptionists, all share the same priority and attention to detail. The two Doctors…read moreWohl (Martin, the senior Wohl, and Carina, the junior Wohl) and the third doctor Steed have taken excellent care of my teeth for six or seven years. (Yes, I live on the west coast now, but my spouse and I still belong to their practice exclusively because we are really attached to our dentists!) The dentists and their staff are caring, personable, knowledgeable, and gentle. Over the years, I've had some fillings done, and it has been with kind hands every time. I look for high technical competency, as well as excellent bedside manner in my healthcare providers, and the Wohl Family Practice team fits my needs, and then some. I've visited many dentists in my life, and many dental specialists. These dentists are the best I've ever had. It's a real gift to my family and to the community that the Wohl team is in the world, and I would believe this even if juggling weren't a prerequisite for all their on-staff dentists. But the juggling doesn't hurt.

STAY AWAY…read more Was trying to find a dentist in the area over the summer and since this place had a shiny website and won the second place in the Advocate's Best Of (how, I have no idea), I decided to give it a shot. Well, the place looks lovely inside, more like you're entering a meditation studio than a dentist's office, and the staff were friendly, but I was completely shocked by their assessment of my teeth. After never having a cavity in my life, I was told that I had over a dozen cavities and would need some cosmetic work on my bite so that my teeth wouldn't grind against each other when I chewed. Now, I know my teeth aren't perfect; I've never had braces, but seriously? Cosmetic work? When they asked me what my 'goals' were for my teeth (umm, what? I'm at a dentist--clean teeth, duh!), I said I wanted a cavity-free mouth. Not that I wanted whiter, straighter, perfectly aligned, ideal-for-toothpaste-commercials teeth. Ugh. So, utterly panicked, I made an appointment to have the FIRST ROUND of these heinous corrections made. Lacking insurance, this was going to cost over a thousand dollars and they were only tackling one of four areas this time. As you may have guessed, I was utterly tickled by this. Now, upon leaving there, I got a call on my way home asking if I wanted to move my appointment up to the following week (about a month earlier than scheduled). I agreed, but it felt weird. Maybe they legitimately had a cancellation 10 minutes after I left, but it felt WRONG. I called my childhood dentist, got the (crappy) xrays & treatment plan sent to her, cancelled my next week appointment and heard, to my great relief, that this place was full of beans. Eventually I made a trip back home, visited my childhood dentist and was told that pretty much every single thing Strong & Healthy Smiles deemed a cavity was a deep pit with some staining in it. As in, NO CAVITIES. Thank you, Dr. Smith, you are a lifesaver. Anyway, I would never ever recommend these folks to anyone. Either they don't know what the heck they're doing or they're deliberately trying to scam people. Bad news. For a REAL dentist who knows how to treat people & their teeth, try the Valley Dentists.

Not a bad idea if the practitioner is honorable. Unfortunately, Sue Keller is not! I literally spent thousands of dollars at her practice. The last time I went in I was told that I must have XRays even though I had had them only two months before. When I refused, the hygienist insisted that I would need them the next time (only three months later.) Then she proceeded to tell me how I had bone loss and that the only solution was a very painful, expensive and time consuming procedure of scaling and root planing. I was skeptical. When the doctor came in, she insisted that I needed the scaling and in addition, two more caps put on (she had done two or three already.) This was upsetting news to say the least. When I got home, I received an email from her office asking me to fill out a survey about my experience. I was brutally honest and wrote that I felt bullied into the Xrays and was concerned that they were using scare tactics to get me to do more procedures than were necessary. A few days later, I received a letter from Sue Keller basically firing me, saying that I was not compatible with her office and philosophy. It took me about a year to see a new dentist and when I did, she told me that I had no bone loss, that my teeth and bones looked great and that I should keep doing what I was doing. I thought it important to write a review warning others of her alarmist instincts resulting in painful, expensive and unnecessary procedures. What was the most upsetting was to see that the vast majority of reviews recounted the exact same story as mine. Sue Keller is in it for the money. Don't let the beautiful office and saccharine smiles deceive you. Walk in that office and it's a huge money pit! And I'll ask again, why are the vast majority of reviews (all negative) filtered and only one (the sole positive one) not filtered???
