Have you ever noticed that previews before the movie have just become comercials for local biz? We came to a 12:05 showing on wensday. We came late to avoid the comercials. We were the only people in the place. They didnt start rolling the comercials until we were seated at 12:10. After 15 minutes I asked the manager if we could transfer to a movie already in progress. None of the other projectors were turned on. The only way we could watch the movie was to sit thru 35 min of comercials. This cinema doesnt treat you as a customer... they treat you like a product to sell advertising. We had to be at the airport at 4.... we couldnt see the movie and the comercials. We asked for a refund... they were so unpleasant we gave up... no movie... no refund. Worst experiance ever. read more

I'm a Regal Unlimited member, and I live in Houston, but when visiting San Antonio for a week I wanted to check out a nearby Regal theater The theater is massive, but it has significantly less auditoriums than the theaters in Houston. It looks like they are mid-renovation. Much of the interior is either outdated or under construction. On the ground level there are a couple kiosks to purchase your ticket and a ticket taker employee before you get on the long and steep escalator. At the top of the escalator you have a hallway of theaters. There is a concessions area, but I had to ask an attendant at the top of the escalator where the concessions was. It was located on the other side of the wall (of the hallway). The concessions is fairly small in size, but they offer most all of the typical Regal treats The staff were helpful and professional. And it's not a bad movie going experience. I think I was just put off by the construction and the confusing layout. There wasn't a usable escalator to get back to ground level and I had to use an elevator (I only saw one), and this felt like a fire hazard, but there must have been stairs somewhere Some tips: Join regal rewards to earn points with every purchase. I am also a huge advocate of the Regal Unlimited Pass. If you're a frequent movie-goer like I am you can see virtually unlimited movies and you get a discount on concessions Cheers! read more

This Regal location has made some outstanding upgrades since I started coming here! They now have comfy, reclining seats, each with their own little table for snacks and drinks. They always have the new releases, and everyone is always very friendly. This is the theater that I visit the most often and I recommend everyone to give it a try if you're in the area! read more

I usually don't go to regal cinema but they didn't have this movie at santikos at the time I needed. The theater looked very nice and clean. The only issue I had was the movie started at 10:55am but after all the commercials and previews it didn't start until 30 minutes later. Most of the commercials were repeated over and over which was very annoying. They really need to cut down the commercials and maybe people will enjoy their movie experience read more

Definitely renovations going on the moment you walk in. Kinda exciting to see what will turn up after it's all said and done. The new seats were very roomy and comfy which was a change since the last time I was here. I would say the concession stand needs some TLC but that looks like it's part of the next stage. read more

REGAL RESERVING GOOD SEATS FOR WALK-INS/LATE BUYERS!! We tried to book seats for the Hail Mary showing on April 1 -- to join friends also attending -- , at 5:50pm. I went straight to the theater to buy them (and avoid a $4 online fee). When I tried to book at the kiosk, all the good seats were unavailable, and only the side seats and front row (really bad seating) were available. We considered these seats but it looked sold out (see the images). Then, when we decided to pay the $4 fee and book online, still only bad seats. We didn't go, but our friends did, and reflected the theater was near EMPTY! The good seats sat empty and we didn't see a move at a theater. Theater's desire to maximize profits are to blame, leaving the good seats for walkups and last-minute buyers. Another nail in the theater coffin for us. read more

This location is overdue for a remodel and updating. It's been several years since my last visit. I remember coming here as a teenager when it was new and I'm pretty sure everything is still the same 30 years later. The theaters are small, seats rather uncomfortable as they do not recline, screens small and sound is poor. On this most recent visit the sound was so poor yet they turn up the volume to the point it distorts the sound. read more

Yes this is not the newest theatre in SA. However the staff that work here are so nice and I think that makes all the difference. There isn't usually a big crowd or long lines for concessions and the theaters aren't usually full. I think it's a nice spot to go for a movie and the location is convenient right at the Quarry. read more

I had a fun time watching a movie at this theater. I will say it's definitely outdated, it has the old regular seats and not the recliners. And of course popcorn and drinks cost so much, but then again most places do. Personally would rather go to a newer theater that has game options and better chairs for the same price. So unfortunately nothing special about this theater besides the convenient shops and area that it's located in. The staff was very very nice though so i definitely appreciated that and had a good time over all. read more

The theater is really comfy & the chairs are nice, the other than the fact that it displays majority ads & then when your movie time starts you get previews for a while then the movie actually starts. Snacks options are reasonably priced there aren't any actual food here as other theaters might have. Other than that everything is okay here. read more

It's a bit sad. At least going during the week is. They appear to have the minimum of staff. The main ticket counters are not open. You buy your ticket at the concession stand. There is one person who runs around and marks your ticket with a marker to show you have been there and accounted for. Last week I was the only person in one of the theaters. Not really complaining, just a bit creepy. They really get you on the snacks. A small soda is $5.99. Yikes. A small popcorn is 7 something. You might as well go large at 9 something. We went yesterday. The two senior tickets, one small and one large soda and one small popcorn was about $40. Save up and go. read more

Went yesterday to see Godzilla minus one. Hadn't been to the Quarry in years! It used to be 'the nice' movie theater. I was so sad to see it almost empty (6:30 showing on a Saturday) the place looked run down, worn and overall a bit sticky. Down escalator not working (apparently for months now) the elevator very slow and tiny . (Going down the disproportionally large number of stairs was very uncomfortable on arthritic knees- so be aware.) We didn't buy concessions, but I saw the prices and thought WOW how does a family afford that!? The seats haven't been upgraded in at least a decade. If it's the only place your desired movie is showing by all means go and enjoy the show. Think of it as a retro experience. Hope Regal can upgrade soon or it'll go out of business soon I fear. read more

Beautiful scenery, a huge fan of the 2 floors of theaters. Only recommendation I have for here is possibly bringing in some more combos, and get with the times and upgrade the regular seats into reclining ones. Overall great job on presentation and creativity. Defiantly top 5 theaters in San Antonio. read more

Very clean and very different from any other movie theater I've gone to. I didn't understand upon arrival we were instructed to pick seats. But I guess that would be okay for a crowd. The sound was perfect and the screen was also. I liked the fact there were two concession stands one upstairs and one downstairs. I didn't make a purchase so I'm not familiar with the products sold. There is also a rewards program I will look into and join if it has good perks. I will definitely be returning soon. read more

So the Quarry theater is one reason I never go to the movies anymore. Went to see Renfield yesterday and it was a horrible experience. First... The tickets were almost $10 for the matinee. The drinks were almost $9 each and the Icee was not frozen. The down escalator was broken, again. The screen was dark and not very clear. The sound was awful. The ticket person has been replaced by a screen. There was ONE concessions person. I don't think she knew that she kept rolling her eyes everytime we asked for something. Maybe it was her blue hair dye seeping into her brain. The Regal cinemas has always sucked but it's so much worse now. Santikos... Stop laughing cause you suck worse now. Shout out to Evo Theaters. Took 20 minutes to get 2 tickets, Popcorn and soda. ($50). Line very long and transactions very slow. Carpet is old and dirty. Cup didn't fit the Cup holder and popcorn way too salty. Liked the movie but will opt for a different theater next time. read more

I finally hopped on the Barbie bandwagon and, well... went to see the Barbie movie! I choose the Alamo Quarry because when I was younger this was a more elite movie theatre, although, that was a number of years ago now (I won't say how many, haha). These days the theatre is quite a bit rundown and the downward escalator was out of order on this particular day. I love the option to buy an advanced ticket online and choose my seat ahead of time, which is what I did. Walking in at 5:00pm on a weekday, there was very few staff, but the gentleman scanning tickets was very lovely. All in all, it was a decent experience for Tuesday afternoon. read more

This theatre needs a refresh. The carpet and seating is ancient and dirty. I don't think it's been remodeled since being built over twenty years ago. That is unacceptable. The theatre is in a nice area and stays busy. The service is fair and quick but that won't make up for it's run down state. It needs better seating. read more
