Popcorn buckets
Lisa R.

I saw on Twitter, Regal theaters were already selling the Annabelle bucket and although we will be seeing the movie I wanted the bucket now. So my daughter and I went down to Edward's, we bought an Annabelle bucket with popcorn, two pretzels and cheese and they had these Harry Potter tin popcorn buckets and cups so I bought a Slytherin one and then we left. Gabby at the register was so kind and sweet. She helped us with our purchases. Last night Edward's Theatre and even The Marketplace was not busy at all so it is a shame we didn't stay to watch a movie or movies. They are currently playing The Conjuring movies which I LOVE! My husband loves to take us to Reading Cinemas but maybe for The Conjuring: Last Rites we will come back here.

Since their renovation, this theater has definitely upgraded not only the interior but also the comfort level and cleanliness of the place. Regal has made watching movies more enjoyable since and have been visiting everytime I'm in town.

Typically the Maya Theater is our family choice venue for movies but our recent visit to Edwards gave me a whole new outlook. I always check the local theaters to see which new and classic movies are playing, so when I saw there was a showing for the Hunger Games Ballad of....I had to get tickets. My daughter loves the series. Very inexpensive tickets that we booked on the app (also love the app, very user friendly) This was a late show on a Tuesday so business was slow, but everything looked great. I really liked the enthusiasm of the gentleman that greeted us as we walked in. Fantastic "movie narrator" voice, great job The movie started right on time. Sound and picture quality was great, also the seats are super comfortable. I really wanted to give Edwards 5 stars but during the time of our visit they were having some kind of issue with their equipment or something because they weren't able to serve hot pretzels no way, bummer

I've been coming here since I was a teen! I have no complaints, the place is always clean and they upgraded the seats recently! Look forward to coming back next time I'm in Bakersfield!

Great seats for movie Sunday night last minute... Sinners was sold out everywhere we tried and this was available at perfect time. Popcorn was fresh great accommodations

This place has completely revamped their theatre spaces. They have new, very comfortable seating, as well as individual rows, where they seemed to have removed half of the seating in each theatre for more room and space for the reclining seats. Overall, the feel of the theatre is probably one of the nicest in town. Same ole, same ole, when it comes to the pricing of the sodas and food items but overall if you want to go to the movies, this has to be one of the nicest places in town.

Yay, they have finally upgraded some of the theaters to have reclining seats and it has a movable tray for you snacks with a drink holder. Also, I love that they have caramel pop corn. So yummy

We had a family movie night, and we decided to watch "Thunderbolt." At first, it was really exciting, you know? But as the film progressed from the beginning to the middle, it started to feel pretty dull. Honestly, I think it's one of the most boring Marvel movies I've ever seen. Despite that, I'm still looking forward to the next one and curious to see what new Avengers are in store. We'll have to wait and see!

Ask the Community - Regal Edwards Bakersfield

Do they have recliner seats?

Yes

Has Edwards upgraded their seats to the recliner type you find at Studio Movie Grill or AMC?

Yes, all auditoriums have been upgraded to full recliner seating with serving trays !

Is Edwards going out of business? Are the rumors I've been hearing true? If so is there a GoFund Me page that I can donate to?

Fortunately the theater is here to stay! The company has put money into the building to help upgrade the sound system and seating. They plan for a lobby and concession remodel as well!

Any senior discounts?

Every day $6.95 :)

If your 15 and a half can you still work at Edwards or do you HAVE to be 16?

I don't believe they hire anyone under the age of 16.

What are the regular and discounted prices? Please list all.

Buy one ticket for $7.80, get one free on Tuesdays!

Cue the dramatic trailer voice:…read more In a world where movie theaters can be sticky, chaotic, and somehow out of popcorn... one Bakersfield theater dared to be clean. Studio Movie Grill was a solid date-night win. From check-in to the bar to seat-side service, everyone was friendly, helpful, and on it. The seats are comfy enough that you may briefly question whether you came for the movie or a sanctioned recliner nap. We usually stop at the bar first, where I stay loyal to the Not-House Chardonnay while my husband goes full action-movie lead with the cocktails. A Tito's Bloody Mary feels like the brunch sequel nobody asked for but everyone secretly enjoys: bold, dramatic, and ready for its close-up. Then we order food, head to our seats, and let the magic happen. I also just learned SMG has a free rewards program, which honestly deserves its own plot twist. I've been using Fandango credits, but SMG rewards looks better since you can earn credit on menu items too. That's a very strong supporting character. Plus they support "special needs" humans with free movie nights...bonus for the non-profit twist. So why 4 stars and not 5? Because the plant-based menu is still waiting for its big breakout role. I think there's basically the avocado flatbread if you remove the cheese, which is fine, but I'm ready for the plant-based options to get top billing. Overall: clean theater, great service, comfy seats, drinks, food, and a fun date night that does not require awkwardly whispering, "Did we just spend $80 to sit in public?" Well... maybe, but at least it was worth it.

Seats are nice as always. Service was average. Nothing special. Staff were very polite and prompt…read morebut missed a couple small details. The food quality was not what I expected based on past experiences. Starting off with the Coconut Chicken that was always our go to. It's not as good as we remembered. (They also forgot the sauce, small detail missed). The fries were very average. Next was the chicken and waffles. I did not see any reviews on them so I thought I'd try them. My advice, go to Moms Place first if you are wanting some. The waffles were ok but the two you get are the size of the bottom of a Stanley tumbler. Sprinkled with powdered sugar to make them tastier I guess. The chicken (fingers) were 80% breading and 20% meat. No flavor. No seasoning. If I were in charge I'd give you 5-6 French toast sticks instead, to make them easier to dip. No silverware is given so you really don't want to smother your syrup on everything. It's more of a dipping option. I'd have taken pics but obviously it's darker during the movie. I miss when their kitchen was top notch and not $60 for two small bland meals, drink and a tip.

This place has officially become my favorite summer hangout!…read more The AC is so good that I literally have to bring a blanket... in the middle of summer! Like wow right ! Everyone that works there is super kind and helpful! As for the theater itself, it has super comfy chairs, the snack selection is great, and the popcorn is always fresh and delicious (which, let's be honest, is half the movie experience). They also have a full bar! Personally, I think the drinks are a little too pricey, but if you're in the mood to treat yourself, go for it! Nothing says "date night" quite like a fun movie and a cocktail. One of my favorite perks is the discounted morning showings. They offer 20% off, which is perfect if you're like me and love finding ways to have fun without spending a fortune. During the summer, I'm all about making the most of my budget, and AMC definitely delivers if you play it smart!

We…read morehad all been wanting to see Obsession, and when they told me they hadn't seen it yet, I thought it would be the perfect activity since we're all fans of scary movies. We found parking quickly, check-in was fast and easy, and the theater itself appeared clean and well-maintained. The auditorium was a bit on the smaller side, but it still felt comfortable and wasn't overly crowded, which I actually appreciated. Before the movie started, we made our mandatory concession stand stop. I was especially excited when I spotted kettle popcorn, but unfortunately they told me they were already sold out even though our movie was fairly early in the day. That was definitely a letdown, but luckily I still enjoy classic buttery movie theater popcorn, so I was able to pivot without too much heartbreak. I also liked that the drink station had touchscreen machines with plenty of soda and juice options to choose from. My mom decided to get an ICEE, but she was a little disappointed when she went back for a refill during the movie and found the machine was out of service. Between the missing kettle popcorn and the ICEE issue, the concession experience wasn't quite as smooth as we had hoped. One of my favorite parts of the visit was definitely the reclining seats. Being able to kick back, put my feet up, and get comfortable made the movie even more enjoyable. I also appreciated that the auditorium wasn't freezing cold like some theaters tend to be. As for Obsession, I personally didn't find it all that scary, but it was entertaining and suspenseful enough to keep me engaged throughout the film. More importantly, it was a fun way to spend quality time with my family. Overall, we had a really nice movie day together. While there were a couple of minor hiccups with the concession area, the clean theater, comfortable seating, easy parking, and convenient location made for an enjoyable experience. Since this is the closest theater to my family's home I would definitely come back to catch another movie the next time I'm in town.

This is the only place in town I've been able to find with a photo booth that has the outside camera on it. Really comes in handy with a big family. The employees at the prize booth area were also incredible and very fun to talk to. Sissy was also great. She was one of the lovely people holding down the buffet area and was so polite and attentive. She made sure everything was fresh and stocked and kept the whole section looking clean, which we really appreciated. Awesome service all around from that young lady along with her other buffet mates! Now this is where it goes south. At some point in the night we were about to ask someone if we could have cones for the ice cream but Sissy beat us to it and filled them right up. Not long after we heard her getting yelled at by another employee, maybe a manager or something, over refilling the cones. Again, the cones were fully refilled and many of us were already enjoying our ice cream. However this woman was yelling at her over it from probably 2 feet away in front of all the customers and employees around. At some point they said something about a walkie talkie being out of battery, which can happen to anyone. A bit later she comes back and comes at her again in the salad bar telling her she needs to be refilling everything faster. Everything looked pretty full apart from like the bread which came out like 1 minutes later. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or if that was her daily attitude but it was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. It was also really uncomfortable to witness for us and the kids. I never did get her name because she felt very unapproachable but we ended our visit on a pretty sour note because of her. I hope she's not like this with every employee, but she honestly shouldn't be like this with ANY employee regardless. Apart from her though this is a fun place to take the kids or yourselves. Edit: I think her name was Marney or Martha or something similar to those.
