The theater is clean, seating is comfortable and clean. Such an enjoyable experience!!

Edward's is a longtime favorite of mine and has been my "home theater" for as long as I can remember. I've seen more movies than I can even recall here. The upgrades over the years have been nice. I appreciate the modern and comfortable declining cushioned chairs they added a while back. At the time of this review, they seem to be under one of the more ambitious renovation jobs with the main entrance area, the ticketing booth, and the concessions all under construction. I am excited to see how it all turns out and will need to write an update when they finish. read more

Haven't been here in a long time. The seats are old and falling apart and the pleather has pealed off on the seat area...they look disgusting. Also we had to switch one of our seats because one was in the reclined position and couldn't get it to move. Luckily we were able to move seats, but all are gross!!!! read more

I saw on Twitter, Regal theaters were already selling the Annabelle bucket and although we will be seeing the movie I wanted the bucket now. So my daughter and I went down to Edward's, we bought an Annabelle bucket with popcorn, two pretzels and cheese and they had these Harry Potter tin popcorn buckets and cups so I bought a Slytherin one and then we left. Gabby at the register was so kind and sweet. She helped us with our purchases. Last night Edward's Theatre and even The Marketplace was not busy at all so it is a shame we didn't stay to watch a movie or movies. They are currently playing The Conjuring movies which I LOVE! My husband loves to take us to Reading Cinemas but maybe for The Conjuring: Last Rites we will come back here. read more

Last night we were there and the snack bar had someone working that kept flipping her hair, rubbing her hair with her hands and really making a show of her hair and then, grabbing drinks and popcorn and other food for people. Since their renovation, this theater has definitely upgraded not only the interior but also the comfort level and cleanliness of the place. Regal has made watching movies more enjoyable since and have been visiting everytime I'm in town. read more

We took the kids to see the movie David a while back. That movie was soooo good and inspirational. Regal Edward's is one of our favorite theatres in town...especially since it has been redone. Typically the Maya Theater is our family choice venue for movies but our recent visit to Edwards gave me a whole new outlook. I always check the local theaters to see which new and classic movies are playing, so when I saw there was a showing for the Hunger Games Ballad of....I had to get tickets. My daughter loves the series. Very inexpensive tickets that we booked on the app (also love the app, very user friendly) This was a late show on a Tuesday so business was slow, but everything looked great. I really liked the enthusiasm of the gentleman that greeted us as we walked in. Fantastic "movie narrator" voice, great job The movie started right on time. Sound and picture quality was great, also the seats are super comfortable. I really wanted to give Edwards 5 stars but during the time of our visit they were having some kind of issue with their equipment or something because they weren't able to serve hot pretzels no way, bummer read more

Whole place has been renovated and very theater is really nice with super comfy recliners. Saw wicked 2 here and zootopia 2. Both were very loud. Surprisingly zootopia 2 was actually really really loud so we had to change our showing to a sensory friendly showing for our toddler. Besides that we really enjoy this theater! Was in town for work and had just finished dinner and drinks at Lengthwise Brewery across the way from the theater. My husband and I decided to end our night with a movie (we are avid movie goers and would have normally caught a showing at our home theater). Purchased our tickets and chose our seats from the Regal app. Located in a huge shopping plaza with plenty of parking. Looks like this area is quite popular with restaurants, shops, and bars next door. The theater was clean and may have been recently upgraded. This place has completely revamped their theatre spaces. They have new, very comfortable seating, as well as individual rows, where they seemed to have removed half of the seating in each theatre for more room and space for the reclining seats. Overall, the feel of the theatre is probably one of the nicest in town. Same ole, same ole, when it comes to the pricing of the sodas and food items but overall if you want to go to the movies, this has to be one of the nicest places in town. read more

We came here because our regular studio movie grill was booked but I don't think we will be going back to SMG! Their seats are far superior to Studio Movie Grill! These recline much further back and aren't all peeling and gross. Also, there's a tall wall behind each seat so the people behind you feel like they don't exist. It's so nice! I'm sad they're remodeling and making Edward's "more modern". I loved the colors and mirrors but I get it! The cost of the tickets is killer but we love going to the movies and we will continue to come here! read more

I grew up coming to this movie theater and i'm loving all the new changes and i believe they went under construction and everything looks so amazing. I love the people working at concessions they're so sweet. I had a girl, she was super tall and had white hair and she made buying food and popcorn super fun lol i loved the energy. i wish i could leave a better rating but unfortunately i believe it was a manager i think her name was trinity ? she was so rude and nasty to her employees, i witnessed her giving so much attitude like they are children when these are very much grown up adults. if she acts like this in public, imagine in private... she made me uncomfortable and i could tell the people who were helping me also looked uncomfortable as well. the whole time she was talking like they were her servants. she was super unprofessional and i hope those poor employees find somewhere better.... We had a family movie night, and we decided to watch "Thunderbolt." At first, it was really exciting, you know? But as the film progressed from the beginning to the middle, it started to feel pretty dull. Honestly, I think it's one of the most boring Marvel movies I've ever seen. Service was terribly slow. The worker giving people food was so slow that a bunch of people including myself were late to the movie and missed the first 10 minutes. I also recently went with a friend of mine and we wanted to watch a movie called "weapons" but we are under 18 so they scanned our tickets and the man scanning the tickets seemed happy to tell us we couldn't watch a movie that WE payed for with our hard earned money and to make it worse they did not give us a refund. This is also the only theater that's does this other theaters such as studio movie grill and maya cinemas do not do this. I would not recommend watching a movie at this theater. read more

Shouldn't even get 1 star. 8/8/2025 Tried to purchase 1 adult ticket for a movie through their online website. Something went wrong with their online ordering system and they ended up charging my debit card/bank account 3 times for the same seat. Contacted them several times to try and get it corrected, since I had tried to cancel the tickets due to the system error. This only made the matter worse. By the time everything was said and done they refused to credit me the full amount that was owed and said regardless of the error being on "their end" that there was nothing at all they could do. Some lady ripped my ticket after checking it. I asked her to reprint it and they said "No, we don't do that. We rip tickets to make sure they've been collected." That doesn't make sense because they already checked the ticket for show time confirmation and they didn't keep it nor did they need to rip it. It's a problem because I collect them in a memory book (I was on a date) and she was rude about it and wouldn't reprint me a new one and didn't tell me she was going to rip it beforehand so I could ask her not to...but I shouldn't have to ask people to not rip my belongings. The man at the front this morning helped us out by greeting us and also letting us know where the restrooms were, the ambience here was very nice- has a unique look apart from the other theaters in town. The woman who helped us out at the popcorn machines was very kind and professional too. We watched lilo and stitch and the seats were the best I have been seated in at the movies as they also recline. I would recommend this theatre to my family and friends read more

We bought movie tickets today for the 345 showing of twisters in Bakersfield, CA. We decided to go to concessions before the movie. We ordered a hot dog meal, a pizza and 3 drinks. There is zero reason it should have been $72. That was more than we paid to watch the movie. These types of prices make it nearly impossible for familes to go to the movies. We are EXTREMELY disappointed. Almost $8 for a soda is absolutely ridiculous. I don't think we will ever come back to this movie theater and will instead go to Cinemark because the prices are high but not asininely high. We expected better of a larger company like Regal Edward's. read more

I went to see Dune 2 on March 7th. It was playing in cinema #3 for my 9PM showtime. This was the absolute WORST viewing experience I have ever had in my 25 years of coming here. The screen material was coated in a reflective glitter effect that not only destroyed the high definition of the image, but has a rainbow/iridescent reflection off of it that got even worse towards the middle blowing out the picture. I was hoping this would go away after the ads that display prior to showtime. But nope, it was there for the 35mins of trailers/ads after showtime AND the entire movie! I hope no one wastes their time or money on this theater like I did just to have their viewing experience trashed. read more

regal edward like other theaters does its job. it provides the audience with entertainment. which is all a movie theater needs to do. but when it comes to the staff and the neglijence towards audience members it makes me feel like i would rather go anywhere else but regal. i always walk in and miss the first 10-20 minutes of my movie due to the slow staff. when i saw a rated r movie known as weapons the staff refused to let me see it since i did not have an adult with me. and yes i know you need an adult to see a rated r film. but what we did was the adult walked in and didn't want to see the movie. he told them that and then left. after he left the workers did not let us in since we were by ouself even though we had an adults approval and had already paid for tickets. we left and did not even get a refund. read more

Not a good choice of theatre. Place is messy. Seats are awkward. No wonder it was so scarce, with plenty of seats to choose from. If you're looking for a non-gross bathroom, hoof it to the second floor. Mixing with classically painful concession and ticket prices makes it more of a reason to avoid. read more

If I give it this place 0 stars I would! I got here at 6:40p and anticipated to be here 20mins early prior to the start of the movie which started at 7p. First of all, let me say when I walked in, the place looked FILTHY. I stood in line for over 30mins just to receive a large fountain $6.99 soda that tasted like it was watered down! I went back 3 TIMES to demand for a refill because their sodas were all watered down. Finally I was over it and demanded my money back! I got a small popcorn and saw a Hair in it which I was extremely disgusted and demanded my money back on that as well. You know I brought my daughter to watch sing 2 and instead of having a good and friendly experience, It was just the worst! I should of just listened to my gut I was skeptical of coming here because it's been just bad experiences in the past and thought If I gave it another shot it would be different. Their snack/food prices are extremely overpriced and their menu is limited. Oh and my 4yr old daughter complained about the seats the whole time!!! This place is not worth what I paid for. Save your time, gas and money! It's not worth the $60 I spent all together!!! I am so disappointed right now with this place. Edwards cinema used to be the best theater in Bakersfield many years ago. Today, it is not the best nor is it the worst. In my opinion, I think they should do some upgrades to get this place back on top. One of the things they should think about is upgrading on seating and making it more comfortable so people would be drawn to come back. They need to upgrade their arcade games as well. I understand people don't come to the theaters for arcade games, but playing games from the mid 90s doesn't draw the kids attention. The popcorn is mediocre and their snacks have been the same for the past 10yrs... Maybe even more. My husband and I came to purchase a gift card for a friend for Christmas and the staff was not too helpful w the processing of the gift card. The lady advised us to go online to get our rewards card active and they have really bad reception inside so it took forever to process. If Edwards cinema wants their customers to get rewards cards and do things online then they should offer wifi to speed things up. I don't come to this theater often even though it's not that far away from home, but prices are okay and the movies they play are always new. They also do birthday packages which I thought was pretty neat. read more

Regals Bakersfield 14 is a solid choice whether you are planning a date night, a night out with with girls, or a solitary adventure into the world of cinema. It's location in The Marketplace makes it a perfect place to grab a bite to eat before or after your movie as there are a number of places to eat running the gamut from fast food burgers to upscale sit down restaurant. You can grab a drink with your mates or an ice cream with your kids making for an entire afternoon/evening adventure. You can eat and then wander around the fountain and brick walkways while waiting for your movie to start. You can park out front in the main parking lot by approaching the center from Ming Ave if you're having dinner first, but if you're coming just for the movie you're better off parking in one of the back parking lots by approaching from Camino Media. You'll have a much shorter walk from your car directly to the theater and I always see mall security guards wandering about in those parking lots. The movies are first run box office hits, the prices are reasonable, the seats are comfortable, the restrooms are generally clean, and the popcorn and drinks no more outrageous than at any other theater in town. So what makes this theater different from the others? Regal Bakersfield 14 is the only movie theater in town that shows Bollywood, Hindi, and Punjabi movies; luckily for me, they all have English subtitles. The movies are always well attended and I appreciate the effort to give me a little diversity in my movies. They also are the only theater in Bakersfield to play host to special Fathom Events like classic movies, ballets, operas, and much much more. I came here with my mom to watch Love, Simon and got a free movie ticket from using my Regal Rewards card. I love the convenience of Edwards because it is located in the Marketplace where there are so many other shops and places to eat. You get 50% off popcorn just with checking in on Yelp! The theater have been here for a long time, but I have seem little improvements here and there. I saw that they got new seats in the theater room; they were very comfy. I've always liked this theater ever since it opened over 20 years ago. The seats and screens are always great, the sound is awesome, and the staff is friendly. I wished they had opened the back concession stand to help ease the line for snacks, and one of the urinals was out of order, and with only 3 total urinals, that's 33% less! I'd come here more often, but sadly it is on the other side of Bakersfield from me. read more
