While I love going to the movies. The only issues I have is that the seats are not always clean. Also I don't like the fact that theres commercials in the movie theater. The trailers yes, but we come to the theater to get away from commercials. We see commercials on social media, on cable. The theater should be the one place where we could relax from commercials. I haven't been back to a movie theater since before Covid. I saw some changes. Now you just purchase tix on machines, sad to see being cut off jobs at the box office. First trip ever to Regal Galleria in Poughkeepsie mall. Since I don't frequent the mall I was unsure where the best place to park was. So wound up walking the entire mall before reaching the theater. So better signage is needed. Go inside and no cashier so we did the self checkin. Process was easy and tickets printed as my wife waited for some snacks. Medium popcorn soda and m&ms was $29. Afternoon show $23 for 2. Another walk to theatre #3 down long corridor but big theatre and found our seats right away. Overall not bad but prefer our local theatre cozy feel. read more

Really nice spot! Pretty much grew up here. Food/Drink: Snacks and what not. Food court is decent and a few good options. Dinning Area: Huge, and always a place to sit. Prices: Relatively inexpensive, minus the big ticket items. Parking: Plenty of space, side and back private lots. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and large size. Stock: Plenty of items, all stocked well. Clearly priced, and placed in correct areas. Atmosphere: During the winter, pretty slow. I have been to over 4 regals this year alone and have never had any staff problems until today. Because of a problem with our account that has never been a problem in the past, we were already forced to be over 15 minutes late for the movie, and after we tried to finally go to the movie, the man at the desk decided he wanted to pull aside my 11 year old brother with a Yoda bag on the way to watch Mufasa to go rummaging through his bag. I'm an adult, but I look young and have never had these problems when going with my parents/friends that look like adults. read more

The movie theater at the Poughkeepsie galleria mall Is updated, very clean, and comfortable. Their employees are friendly and accommodating. It should be a lovely place to watch a movie. What I did not like about it was the sound system. I saw the Taylor Swift concert movie there, and the bass was too loud With a distorted sound. I have to say this place was pretty impressive with size & cleanliness. However, I have to caution that this place is very expensive when compared to other local theaters. If I recall, I spent about $30 just on a family of four for snacks with the entire trip costing almost $100 with entrance fees; ouch! I wasn't about to leave because I was trying to save money, no I'm too proud. :o) Leg room is important to movie goers and the leg room at this place was good, however I have been to the theater in Newburgh that I find has the best leg room in the Hudson Valley (I literally lay out in my seat at that location). read more

I don't go out to the feathers often, and if I do it is usually to NCG cinemas as they have recliner and heated chairs. However, I recently attended regal at the Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall to view "The Menu." My experience was great overall, ticket booth was fast, ads were not long and the movie only started a few minutes late. Lots of space in the theater, even while it was busy, and there's tons of leg room. I also 100% recommended viewing The Menu because... wow. I have not been to a movie theater in many years. I decided to take my three grandsons to see Toy Story 4. I found the theater to be very comfortable. It is much more expensive for a movie ticket now from the last time I went to the movies. But I did not find that to be outrageous. What I did find to be outrageous was buying three small waters for $5.50 each. That is just outrageous, greedy and excessive. I don't even think a water at Yankee Stadium would cost that. That is just plain outrageous. I will clearly limit me going to the movies in the future with my grandchildren. I will wait for the movie to come out on DVD or on-demand. read more

TCM Fathom Events at Regal Cinemas - STAY HOME. When I found that TCM's Fathom Events were held here I was really excited. Having seen them advertised for years I never knew they took place locally. Finally there would be a reason fo me to go to theaters again. I decided to treat my father to The Godfather Part II in a big screen experience as we had first seen it together in 1974. It was an extremely disappointing experience. The movie was so dark you couldn't even make out faces in certain scenes. I couldn't believe how muddy everything looked. I found out after contacting Fathom Events directly that theaters are given instructions to make adjustments so that these "films" don't look this way. In fact, for certain epics like Laurence of Arabia, Fathom actually sends physical hard drives to theaters so that they are guaranteed to be displayed correctly. Here's what made the experience even worse though. Talk about timing - back home that day I saw an ad on TCM for the movie I'd just seen and it looked terrific. Not more than 10 minutes later I received an email from Regal Cinemas asking about my experience. I was candid and gave my contact info as required. That was on November 10. Today is December 15. CUE THE CRICKETS!!! Still no response. If they knew anything about customer service they'd know to never ask for feedback if you don't plan on acting on it. Silly me. They don't even know how to run a projector why would I think they'd know about customer service? read more

While not offering the most modern accommodations in terms of theatre-going experience (e.g. reserved seating, IMAX, etc) it is still far and away the best option in Dutchess County. 16 auditoriums allow them to have a wide and varied selection and they start earlier and end later than the other theaters in the area. The sound quality is fantastic, the stadium seating gives you a great view, and the free rewards program is a big part of why I drive 20 minutes here, rather than the movie theater across the street from my house. read more

I laugh at the person who mentioned that this theater doesn't even closely compare to the ones in NYC. Let me tell you 2 reasons why the Regal Cinemas is 100x better than ANY theater in NYC - it's cheaper (it's $10 at Regal and it's about $14 on average in Manhattan) and it also doesn't have any bed bugs!!! (which basically every major movie theater in Manhattan has). That alone is worth the price - since the screen and sound as just as primo as you can expect! But since their major renovations in late 2007/early 2008, this theater has really become first rate. It's a little annoying when they try to show major movies (like Harry Potter) in 8-10 of their 16 theaters at once and make the other showings suffer (even for new movies) but I think all movies do it. I have been here during movie premieres (saw the first showing of the Dark Knight in July '08 and I had a semi-close seat and it was still a great view!!) and at times when my beau and I were the only ones in the theater...you always feel comfy and cozy in this place. Super great that you can lift the arm rests up to give yourself more room too! Sign up for a regal card - it's free, takes only a minute and you'll get a free movie ticket before you know it :). Don't waste a drive going to the Palisades or White Plains...you can get a good show in the Hudson Valley here!! read more

Best movie theater in the area, by far. The stadium seating is extremely comfortable, with a great view. Matinee prices are good. Popcorn is usually pretty fresh. The food is expensive, just like every other theater. My go-to. I will mention that the kiosks outside malfunction a little too often, but the line inside moves extremely quickly. read more

I don't frequent movie theaters as often these days as I used to (thanks to #netflixandchill) but when I do, this theater is my local "go to" spot. Compared to other theaters I've been to in the area, this one is more up to date with stadium seating (yes there are still theaters here without that...) My only gripe is that compared to theaters I used to frequent (Loews New Brunswick, NJ and the UA on Staten Island) they have much smaller theaters and as a result a bit smaller screen sizes. Ultimately I look past that for most movies, but some of the bigger ones it can make a difference They handled the recent Star Wars release quite well with appropriately separating different viewings that were close in timeframes. read more

I'm actually surprised... being that it's part of the mall and by the looks upon entry, I thought I'd have to deal with talking kids at a 70% level, but in actuality, my experiences here have been very good. Quiet for the most part, clean, good sound, and regularly priced. What's also cool, it that it has a bumper car spot next door, Ruby Tuesday's above if you need a quick bite and don't mind a chain, and plenty of parking, even though it looks full most of the time and I just hate hiking when I'm trying to reach the movie in time. I'm a HUGE movie fan, love them. And when I go to see a movie I like to be comfortable, with an uninterrupted view, great surround sound, and hopefully good food. :-P Some places live up to that, and others don't. This location was definitely one of the spots that DID live up to it. I was only visiting the area, and happened to catch a movie here, but wish there was more just like it over here where I am. The location is perfect since it's directly attached to the mall. You can schedule the movie around you, and enjoy yourself with a bit of shopping through the mall. Instead of scheduling you around the movie, by having to bolt from what you're doing to drive across town to catch a show. Very convenient. The theaters are nice too. Great stadium seating that provide a slight recline, are very comfortable, and the cup holders can be moved up between the chairs if you're trying to cuddle up next to your date. Awesome surround sound, plenty of space, and the pop corn wasn't too shabby either. :-P Definitely a nice spot to catch a movie, one that I would recommend for any movie lovers! read more

Sorry Poughkeepsie Regal...I know you're trying to live up to the theaters in NYC...plush seats, lots of leg room, giant cup holders, stadium rows and a ginormous screen...but you just won't make the cut. I'm a city girl, so I expect big things. And your stand at the Galleria Mall, just wasn't too impressive. I mean...I do have to give you props for giving us tickets for $7 at 3PM on a Saturday afternoon...but you disappointed me so much more... Your seats were big and looked like fairly good replicas of the originals but they rocked forward more than they rocked back. And, well, that's just not fun. The screen was, yeah, big...but so small in comparison to ours in the city. And did we have to have all those technical difficulties during the start of the previews? Yeah, they're previews, but I'm still paying for them to be crystal clear right? Alas...I suppose I will be back if I have to be...but my movie going will stay in the sleepless city. read more

Terrible experience with their newly "choose your own seats" - there were people sitting in our seats, so rather than make them move, we just sat in other seats. So then THESE seats were selected by another couple and we had to move AGAIN. My God, there were 6 people at this showing, and everyone was crunched together in one row. After moving yet another time, we decided to complain to the manager, who just shrugged his shoulders and said it was a "corporate decision" and there was nothing he could do. As an aside, the older man Frank who takes the tickets was rude and nasty. From now on we will just support our local movie houses and stay away from these ridiculous "corporate decision" theaters which negatively affect our movie going experiences. read more

Love the comfortable stadium seating here. The theater is huge and having so many options about which movie to see is great! I love going around dinner time on a Saturday when it's not too crowded. They keep it nice and clean and the lines are always moving quickly. I'm also impressed by how friendly the staff is considering how busy they are at this location! Place if fine for what it is but once I went to amc in galleria in Middletown with the reclining chairs it's hard to not go back !

In general this is a really nice theatre. They have current movies. The staff is courteous, the seats relatively comfortable, and the rest rooms are clean. That being said, I had a disappointing experience today with customer service at this theatre . I am hard of hearing and asked for the "cup style" assisted listening device that fits into the cup holder of the seats. It has a small screen and has text that matches what is being spoken on the screen for the main feature. The first person I asked about this device became somewhat flustered and said, "I don't usually do THAT," She then got a person who appeared to be a more senior person in the Customer Service Department. He gave me the device and said that it was already loaded for the correct text. (It actualIy had some text for a movie other than the one I was watching). I asked if someone would come to check if it was functioning properly. He said that someone would. be there to check in a bit. The device was in English but said I had to choose what channel I wanted. I went to ask if someone could come to help me and he said the usher had gone to another theatre to deliver popcorn and would come when they returned. I couldn't fix the device and gave up. When I left I was asked how everything worked out. I said "Not good, and no one came to help me. The Customer Service Manger said that he was told I was checked on and everything was good. No one checked or helped at all! All and all a disappointing experience in an otherwise decent theatre. Am I the only one with a hearing loss that requires this service? Please train staff on how to use and assist with these devices properly. Thank you! read more
