Me and my boyfriend came during our last day of our trip and loved it! There weren't a lot of ppl inside which was surprising but our server told us summer season is slow since the college students aren't around. We came during happy hour by accident and had $7 vodka lemonades which were sweet but good and a good size. He got the $8 sliders (2) and we also got the $1 spicy popcorn. It's a great deal. He also got the $8 side salad which was pretty big and delicious. It had garlic and some of kind of dressing I can't describe but was very good. It also had baby yellow and red tomatoes which tasted fresher than the grocery but are also in season. I totally understand bartending is stressful and hard to manage. I also understand some people feel they need to take something to have the focus and patience to complete the job. But the pretty, blonde bartender was wired on some hard shit. I feel like she might need to find another drug tho bc she seemed to be focused on the wrong things. this girl was never behind the bar and when we finally caught her she was incredibly rude to us. It felt Like we waited years for her to return so we could close our tabs. Even after tipping her well she remained nasty and rude. The rest of the service was amazing but in my opinion this girl will lose them customers if she doesn't lower her dosage and continues to treat people the way she did. such A shame bc the drinks are amazing and the live music brings so many people together and creates a wonderful night for everyone. read more

Folks dining were supportive and courteous in applauding regardless of skill level. Had a an Oktoberfest while I waited for my food. We made a reservation and needed to change it not once but twice but the staff here was kind and patient. We arrived to find our table ready promptly and we're serenaded by a great piano player. He was really great and played lots of hits! We ordered apps, bottles of wine (I loved the Alberiño) entrees and desserts. Everything was great. I loved my braised short ribs - perfect portion size and delicious sides. The dessert doughnut bread pudding and side of fried Brussels sprouts were almost as perfect as the short ribs. Around 9pm, a two piece live band came on and they were really lively - playing all the hits. Another table requested to hear Don't Stop Believing and it was so perfect. Loved the piano guy on the weekend after six. We were right next to the piano and it was still pleasant. Friendly waiter took care of us really well even tho we were a large crowd. Highly recommend. After a long hike, we stopped by and this place is a gem. The customer service is beyond. We did not make a reservation and there were limited tables available, the host still proceeded to give us a great selection. Listen. This is my new favorite place in the village. Hands down. I am here for all of it. Kevin, GM was the greatest. He gave me the concept, the low down and helped guide my cocktails and dinner selection. We ordered most of the menu. Everything from the immaculately dressed/well-mannered door man to the decor transported me out of the Hudson Valley and into another space. It was so needed. We rang in the holiday there and the energy was in the air. We saw neighbors, old friends and made new ones during our toasts. I ordered most of the menu. I'll post pictures later but everything was amazing. The beet terrine, MUSSELS (!!!) salmon, pork chop, soup, burger, lobster mac apps and drinks were literally a sensory experience. I kept poking my head around because I wanted to see the patio (too cold that day) and what the other spaces were like. The pianist and vocalist were excellent and I love the concept. As much as NP is a college town, there are post college-aged people that call this home and I am glad to have something to unite across generations that isn't bar food. Went for lunch yesterday. Upon entering was so pleasantly surprised at what a beautiful transformation to what was formerly Murphy's. Decor and atmosphere of something you'd see in the City. Tastefully done with padded leather seating, a grand piano, and everything in the place just really nice. Brian was our server who was helpful in recommendations with wines and the menu. We ordered lobster Mac and cheese-Amazingly good-generous pieces of lobster-delicious. Also had the house made veggie burger which came with sweet potato fries-also, House-made, and very good. Had probably THE worst pasta ever here besides an unfortunate one and only trip to Olive Garden with my kids after they begged lol. Was supposed to be homemade pasta with bolognese sauce but turned out to be mushy overcooked pasta with ice cold bitter acidic sauce like it was someone's leftovers. Had to send it back and ask for them to heat it up. They mixed it but wasn't hot, I gave up, Dr used not to get another drink or dessert. Hubby got the short rib he said was pretty good but hardly anything with it I think it was sitting on a tablespoon of something puréed so he had to order a salad after because he was hungry. Service was okay but had to flag down waitress since she didn't check in about the meal. One good thing was the piano player that was nice. We have wanted to try the Lemon Squeeze since it opened and finally made it after attending a local theatre performance. Firstly the space is beautiful, comfortable and nicely designed. Our cocktails were wonderful - we had the smoking jacket & the Pear Down. Excellent work by the bartenders. For our appetizer we had the mussels dish. Delicious and very enjoyable. However we were halfway through when a server arrived with our main courses asking if he could clear away our appetizer. We said we were still working on our app. So we ended up with our entrees getting cold on the table as we finished the mussels. Perhaps we could have asked them to hold them in the kitchen until we were done but it is not something I have ever experienced in a restaurant before. Our entrees were very good - we had the bolognese and the short rib. We had cappuccinos and their chocolate cake for dessert. Sadly they were very mistimed. We were just about done with our cappuccino and had to ask if the cake was coming. The cake had an odd taste - like cocoa that has gone stale. The cappuccinos also were just barely warm. Our waiter told us 3 times "thank you for your patience". If you have to tell us this 3 times there is clearly a huge work flow problem. This place has the potential and is missing the mark. They need to utilize a good expo and improve attention to detail. We would likely not return again. read more

The food on the other hand wasn't the best. I had the sliders and the bun tasted stale and the beef was very dry. I split the lobster Mac and cheese with my friend and the cheese was very liquidy. Which was very unsettling. Lastly, for dessert we got the chocolate lava cake. It was very small portioned and it lacked sweetness. I expected more with dessert but was disappointed, since I have a strong sweet tooth. Which was extremely disappointing. I guess I can say I was only pleased with the lemon martini drink. The poor server was running around by herself in the morning and truly was the nicest server I have ever encountered in new paltz!! She was so amazing in making sure everything was explained well and recommended us a beautiful Spanish wine. Oysters rotate and always fresh, miss the cornmeal dusted fried oyster app with remoulade. Have sent back Thai mussels twice--coconut milk broth will never be clear--kitchen, homogenize the can first, liquid off the top isn't coconut milk, needs fat for flavor and to stabilize the heat. Beet terrine is a hit! The seafood tower should not be overlooked, it's a nice variety of raw bar and perfectly cooked shrimp, also a good value. Hostess wearing hoodie and yoga pants--meh. If this is the restaurant for grown-ups in the college town, perhaps a wardrobe stipend so the first person I encounter is dressed to impress and in human form conveys the envisioned ambience.
