They reduce the sound of the speakers for the dialogue and the background sound is louder. got this from an employee after asking about the sound. I'm okay with this for the ads but not the previews. Selling tickets to a 3hr movie that starts at 7:25pm and closing the concession stand at 9pm is absurd, especially when you buy a free refill popcorn and need a beverage. The sound is too loud, the seats are uncomfortable, and the staff is unaccommodating and apathetic. It's worth the drive from Ukiah to Santa Rosa to avoid this theatre. read more

Thank you Regal Cinemas for the properly accessible seating, that allowed me and my service dog to enjoy our first trip to the movie theater together. I was prepared to try to squeeze her in a much narrower aisle and hope for the best, or just leave because we couldn't make it work. She hung out under my legs in front of my seat (where she's used to being) for most of the movie, but the option to have her next to me was so much more comfortable for both of us. Wicked was great. To say highly disappointed would not even begin to explain the experience my children and I had. We were excited to enjoy Minions 2 doing one of our favorite things to do as a family. While the trailers were rolling my son (6 years old) began to complain of having a headache. We go to theaters all the time. This is his first time complaining of this (also first visit at this location) I noticed that the resolution was well below what you would expect with it being 2022. The images we were presented with were blurry and looked as though they were from the early 2000s nothing like what we've grown accustomed to visiting other venues. The audio was iffy at best it appeared most of the volume was coming from near the screen and not much of a surround sounds type you would expect. I shrugged this off and my son powered through with the excitement of the movie fast approaching. When the trailers had ended a employee came and checked the thermostat. Approximately 10 minutes after this the top of my head began to sweat and children in the top row complained of having a hard time breathing. A parent from this group went out and informed the employees at the concession stand. Another 10-15 minutes or so passed and no employees had been seen entering the auditorium. At this point I made my way to the concession stand to ask if anything was being done about the heat in auditorium 3 to which the employee responded with auditorium 3,4 and 5 were all complaining of heat issues. I again asked if anything was being done. To which I was given the response of it was an older building, at this point I asked to speak to a manager. The manager came out of her office and came to let me voice my concerns. She said she would look into this immediately. I stood by while she went to auditorium 3. Another gentlemen at this point in the lobby asked if our movie was unbearably hot as well. The manager came back and informed us that the thermostat had somehow got turned into the heat mode and had no idea how it had happened. I informed said manager of her employee coming to the t-stat in the auditorium prior to the heat becoming an issue. At this point again I was told it was an old building and it would take some time for the auditorium to cool. I went back to the auditorium and attempted to enjoy the rest of the movie at this time. By the end of the movie it had cooled to 78 degrees in the auditorium according to the thermostat. Mind you this is after we sat in over 80 degree heat from an hour and a half movie. I wish I could say it ends there. The restrooms were completely disgusting and had gnats and flies all over the urinals and sinks. Not just one of 2 either I took pictures of this situation. To top all of this off there was hand towels thrown against the wall. I asked the manager if there was anything that could be done to make this situation right to which I was given a passive stare and that was all. The outside of the theatre was recently painted and looks great along with the new pavement in the parking lot however the interior of this entire building is well below subpar. At this time I have no intentions of returning to this establishment. read more

We went to try and watch Inside out 2 this Monday evening. At around 8:20. I checked online that previews are 20 minutes long, and movie started at 7:40. I was just this wee tiny little boy, and my big brother thought it would be cool to take me to see the Exorcist. Is it scary? Only the scariest frickin' film of all time. To this day the visual of that devil girl's face haunts me. That was a long time ago, and since that fateful day I have seen everything from Star Wars to Hangover 2 here. A place where the popcorn is always fresh and now have upgraded stadium style seating. The theatre itself is great old place , only has six theaters so sometimes you have to wait some time to see your movie, they have also combined tickets and food so you have to wait forever to get your movie ticket. Better not run in quick and hope to catch a movie, you will miss the start. Very disappointed on the Avatar premier, no hot dogs and I didn't have time to grab dinner first, so I got to starve for 3 hours!!! The seating is wonderful. The sound is great. The people are friendly. My only complaint is they have an extraordinary amount of advertisement after their scheduled movie time. I have no complaints of advertisement for those who arrive early before the showtime, but Regal goes way beyond their scheduled showtime with too much advertising. Yesterday we went to the movies! It is only the 2nd time in the past year we've been to a movie theater. We've gotten so out of practice. But, STAR TREK is out & we had to see it on the big screen. I'm more a trekkie than John. But we both looked forward to this, and planned in anticipation a day to go. It's a great vintage theater... they kept a lot of the original and made it into a multiplex, but with each separate theater cozy. It's clean, has a young staff, is nicely carpeted & painted.... quite pleasant. The parking is a cinch... a great roomy lot right outside [ in San Diego, we'd park in huge multi-level garages & have to dash through a huge mall for some of our movies-- yuck] John hit the concession stand on our way in.... it offers all the usual pricey stuff. For our large bag of buttered popcorn [ yes, it was yummy] and a medium coke, it came to about $12 !![ and enough for 6 people, although we managed to finish it ]... Even with a matinee discount, we still spent a ton of money. i need to remember to pick up some candy at 7-11 before we go. We were the 1st people in our theater... but it filled up quickly... it holds maybe 100. Although the screen is not huge, it was certainly adequate and I was so grateful that the sound was not blasting... it was at a comfortable level. The chairs rocked, plenty of leg room. We were happy with our setup & our 'gold plated' snacks! The crowd was great... we were all enjoying it & having fun. No rude talkers around us... What a sweet treat it was... I loved the new Star Trek... I hope this starts up a new franchise. The young actors were all terrific in bringing the characters to new life, pre- the original S-T series. We enjoyed it immensely. But I have to say, my favorite part was at the end credits, hearing the old Star Trek theme music... gave me the warm fuzzies. Live long and prosper.... read more

Unbelievable! I found out that in the last 24 hours, this theater will be showing a free hit job film about Hillary Clinton tonight at 7 pm. The advertisement just popped up on the front page of our crappy online newspaper, the Ukiah Daily Journal. Management doesn't even have the guts to list this film on their Fandango site! I will be calling management and corporate offices and given them a chance to offer a documentary showing titled "You've Been Trumped" from 2011 AND Michael Moore's new documentary on Trump before Election Day. This place always has the worst low brow and kiddie movies! Even one a good and thoughtful film arrives, it rarely lasts very long to be replaced by more family friendly or agro action garbage. Whatever happened to the Independent Film Series that was shown here was I moved to town 10 years ago? In the past year, staff actually forced my wife to let them inspect her purse and was extremely rude about it. They work with Fandango, but say they don't have the proper "reader" to scan my pre-printed ticket which I paid EXTRA for the convenience. So sad that this is our only towns "pictureshow." read more

I love this small-town theater and I've been going here for decades (saw the original release of Star Wars here!). They've always done a terrific job of keeping things clean and I can't think of a time when I experienced any serious issues. There is plenty of parking, and staff are almost always friendly and seem to be on top of things. The only thing that keeps it from being a 5-star theater is modern recliner seating and the ability to book seats online. I know folks from Ukiah who go to the Airport Theater in Santa Rosa just for the recliners. Additionally, it seems uncomfortably cold, especially in the winter. We've actually had to ask them to turn on/up the heat, which they were happy to do, but still... Anyway, keep up the good work! read more

When you grow up in a small town, the movie theater is the epicenter of your social life. Regal Cinemas shouldn't have the word 'cinema' in it; that's far too upscale and urbane for this small-town movie theater. I'm beginning to feel old, because I'm certain that I remember when this was Ukiah 4. Now it's a 6, but it feels the same size. I'm not sure when it became a Regal, or if it was ever independently owned. For a place where I spent almost all of my allowance, I know very little about it. However, I spent my formative years here, chomping on Red Vines and using them as straws, pretending to like the Titanic so I could fit in with the cool kids, and negotiating the awkward teenage boyfriend-girlfriend do si do. My family and boyfriend came to see the Hobbit during the Christmas holiday. I hadn't been here in over ten years, but much felt the same, despite being a part of the Regal franchise. Matinee prices were reasonable, while a bottle of water was just under the amount of the actual movie ticket. Water prices aside, nothing felt too corporate, unless my nostalgia is kicking into high gear and blinding me. I love the sign-it's a Ukiah landmark, and when all of the letters are functional and illuminated it's even better. The movie theater still inspires a sense of wonder and excitement, and for giving this once small-town girl a glimpse of other realities, I am quite grateful. read more

This place is so disgusting. The bathrooms are filthy, theres poop everywhere and even dust everywhere like on the TP holder. Old silly string all over the counter that was just left to shrivel up.. How long has it been since someone cleaned this place that should be cleaned multiple times a day? That's just the bathroom. The theatres are disgusting, the floor was sticky where we were sitting and ended up making noise the entire movie. Even the door to the movie theatre was covered in butter and grease. The seats were so uncomfortable as well half of them looked broken in the theatre. I will be renting movies at home from now on, anything is better than that place. read more

Obviously they have movies. The theaters are big. Nice seats. All in all its a nice theatre. My problem isn't with the theatre. It's the staff I have encountered. It's rare that I am helped my someone that isn't rude. Huffing and puffing when a customer buys popcorn as you are cleaning up, using a ladle to put butter on popcorn because they are too lazy to put the top they just took off back on, giving dumb looks when people ask for a bag that hasn't been dunked In the butter vat. No common sense. Be nice to your customers. Do your job right. Smile. Don't give attitude. Yes you may be annoyed because it's the end of the night, but I've been a server for 7 years. You need to fake a smile. Customer service NEVER used to be this bad until the last 2 years. I avoid the theater here at all costs because of the staff. They are in desperate need of a customer service class. Granted not grouping ALL the employees into this category. Just the few I have encountered. read more

This review is a bit difficult because I didn't want to give it 5 stars because 5 stars seems so perfect... But I was debating between 3 and 4 and I think I will stick with 4 because the thing I don't like (The arm rests don't go up) is something they COULD change, but it's really not a huge issue and it would be pretty expensive. The popcorn though was exceptionally tasty and perfectly salted and buttered. They butter it for you, (which originally freaked me out because they could really mess it up, but they know what they're doing.) Both movies I saw here were really enjoyable and I think that contributes to my like of this theatre. There is also a creepy staff member that is aggressively flirty and it's uncomfortable. If he could just calm down a bit and act more professional, things would be alright. Otherwise, I was very happy and will most likely see more movies here when I visit Ukiah. read more

The Ukiah movie theater has been through several owners and several names since I first went there in 1971. It has been converted to six screens with stadium seating. It shows the usual run of Hollywood films. There is nothing original about the programming. I have not been able to figure out why the much smaller Noyo Theater in Willits can regularly show smaller, independent films and films with less mass market appeal and the Ukiah theater can't. I also resent the fact that the Regal Ukiah only shows "family" and/or action movies, and keeps them there for weeks on end. If the films are a little edgy or political, they come and go in two or three days. They overcharge the living he-- out of their refreshments. I had someone rudely make me throw my water out one time. I will buy the popcorn because it is part of the entertainment, but several dollars for a drink? I cannot believe that. Someone mentioned the Willits Theatre. I think they are much better, and their refreshments don't cost as much as the price of the movie. The staff is always friendly and professional! My family and I go to the theatre at least once a month. We always buy a large popcorn. We can't resist, it's soooo good. You can also get a free refill if you manage to eat the entire tub. We are lucky to have such a beautiful theatre in our town. It's comfortable and always clean. read more

The Ukiah theater is the only option in Ukiah for movies. The theater is old and not very well maintained. Although the staff try really hard to serve customers there is simply not enough staff. The "managers" walk around not really doing much and try to look important wearing suits. Let these folks dress more casual (nice shirts with a regal logo). There is very little supervision of the younger guests and on weekends or evenings it is hard to enjoy a movie without disruption from some of the younger crowd (they are just being kids but not very considerate of movie gowers) In every theater 1 to 6 there are many seats that need maintenance or are completely broken. I sent pictures to the main headquarters along with an email an never received a response. I find it interesting that the Windsor theater (Santa Rosa entertainment group) have invested in new seating (reclining seats), well groomed and professional looking staff members with enough staff scheduled to serve customers (each time we have visited). I spoke to a manager and we talked about visitors to the theater and he stated that they are getting lots of visitors from out of the Sonoma County area.....The Regal Group needs to make more of an investment in the Ukiah community and start taking a historic building and upgrade the facilities with new paint, lighting and an upgrade to all the seating. So with all that said Ukiah Theater 6 is the only option in ukiah if you are choosing to go to the movies. i rate this theater as a 2 out of 5 read more

Ukiah has such a great old theater, but it needs some serious TLC!!! The seats have springs on the surface of the cushions, last time I went the seat pinched me and left a serious bruise. I love going tot the movies, I use to go once a week, assuming there was a new movie worthy of seeing each week. Ukiah has little nightlife to offer , the movies has always been one of the few non-bar related activities and would get good turn out even in these Netflix days, if you updated the comfort level. No one wants to sit on springs and no one wants to smell the old stinky carpet, by the way some areas smell a bit like urine One other notable issue is regarding the food and food counter, I have seen half-a-dozen workers behind the counters with one reluctantly helping customers or a couple working and the others just aimlessly standing around while the line is 15+ people long. This isn't rocket science, you put on hot-dogs 30 minutes before each show, you use non-stale buns (buns should not be crunchy dry) you put the hot-dogs in the buns and both in a foil bag, write the time one them, place them in a warming drawer then when someone orders one you can grab it and pass it to them without having to say, no sorry we can make one it'll take 20 minutes; so what if you toss a few dogs here or there you would sell more than enough to cover the cost once people realize you have fresh hot food available NOW. Do like Rohnert Park, the last hour of the snake bar being opened they put al toss out food at 1/2 price, they sell almost everything before the shut down for the night. Another streamlining tip, have a person at each station handling food or cashiering, I do not like someone taking my money then turning around to get my pop corn or hotdog, they don't wash tier hands first, they put on gloves when getting a hotdog, which really slows down the process too, which isn't good when you are trying to get to your movie before it starts or you ran out to grab something and every second longer is more of the movie you have missed. One person filling the pop corn orders, one person filling the drink orders, have the dogs ready to just be grabbed from the warmer, these changes won't cost you more money but it should make you more if you do it right! We drove down to Petaluma tonight to see a movie where they have individual electric recliners and each one has its own tray and each row is higher than the one in front of it so you are never looking at the back of someone's head in the middle of your view, and the night time price is still only 7.50 or 10.00 per ticket. read more

The theater is a great old theater, but it needs NEW SEATS!!!! Also, I signed up for the Unlimited service after asking questions at ttye the theater when it first came out, they stated that it is a monthly service cancelable at any time, they went as far to state you could do one month, cancel and then sign up again when you had the time/money. I went to the App Store and download the app which also stated it was/is a monthly service, well they charge you monthly, but you can't cancel the service for the first year!! So non exact Ly aa monthly service!!! To bad I signed up before people started reviewing this service, others thought it were told the same thing, and it's now out there warning pEople in the reviews. So BEWARE!! It wouldn't be so bad, but our theater doesn't get enough new titles, so I end up not seeing enough movies to justify the costs, sure if I went to see every movie (horribly rated and children's movies) I could see more for less than me going to see those movies, but last 30 days I saw one movie because they didn't change the movies enough and the movies they have had are already seen or horribly reviewed, so no interested in wasting time. In fact to see movies I have wanted to see I have went south and paid. I was sure Little Women wouldn't ever come, so I drove south to watch it, two weeks later it shows up for one week, Parasite and JoJo Rabbit, and Harriet are all movies I had to drive out of town to see! I will probably drive south again this week to the Gentlemen, it's been out for at least two weeks and it's still not here, instead we are on our 4th week of Bad Boys! And I believe we have had Doolittle and The turning going on 3 weeks. How about 3 weeks max on blockbusters and have at least two new movies every week! read more

Friend & I went to see a matinee today. Surprised to find that price is up to $9.50 for early show (and senior). Got there early. Plenty of seats, rather comfy. First we heard sound...very loud. No picture. We wondered about that. Waited a while, still nothing but sound. My friend went to find out why. She was told that someone would fix it. Another gentleman went to ask about it as well. After a while, still very loud sound and no picture. An usher came in the theater and said it would be fixed on 10 minutes. We waited along with other customers. In a few minutes another employee came in and announced that it would be fixed in ten minutes. That is the last we heard from anyone. We sat there for 1 full hour. Nothing. All of us in the audience got up and filed out. A customer mentioned that we could get our money back and a free future ticket for our trouble. We had to wait again for someone to refund our money or exchange for a coupon for another time. I asked the young man who seemed to be in charge, what about a free ticket for our trouble and waste of an hour without explanation...or apology. He said money back or coupon, nothing else. I asked what about our time waiting for nothing. He ignored me and the others waiting who thought we should get something for the inconvenience. One or the other, he said, that is it. I told him it was pretty bad public relations. He ignored me (again). Pretty crappy service if you ask me...and the other folks waiting for their refunds agreed. Not even a coupon for a free popcorn or a drink and a sorry.. Bad service, rather snippy young man. The owners of the theater should get better employees who have learned how to treat people and they should have a better policy for those people who came out of their way to enjoy a movie. This is the second time this happened at this theater. Why not check everything prior to the scheduled opening of the film??? read more

For the size of the town this is a great theater, even the small screens don't feel like a rip off like other theaters do. I also appreciate that they offer 3D and 2D from opening day. I don't like being forced to watch 3D just because I came out. Decent popcorn, they should offer toppings tho, miss Brewer's yeast. read more
