Regency has always been my go to, before Lyft/Uber this is the only company I would use. As of today I will no longer consider them!! I requested a cab thru their app a lil after 8pm today. After waiting for an hour, drivers cancelling 2x I call them hoping me and my daughter could get home soon. But I'm wrong, I speak with a "manager" with whom I explain the confusion and long wait. Instead of showing concern that a customer would EVER have to wait over an hour for a cab, I get a woman who has the nastiest attitude I've ever experienced!! Tequila is her name, not only does this woman get n attitude with me she hangs up on me!!! I call back and proceed to tell her this is unacceptable, I'm waiting at a mall which is now closed with my young daughter. She over talks me and makes smart comments. Thank God for my best friend because we would've STILL been waiting for the cab!!! Disgrace to cab companies, I hope the owner is aware of how negligent his management team is!! read more

Are you kidding me?! Reservation to pick up my mother on Christmas Eve was made a week in advance. Thanks to Regency Taxi for ruining our family Christmas gathering. They gave no notice that they weren't coming at all. My mother was stranded at the nursing home because no wheelchair taxis were available. I reserved a handicap taxi for my family member to return home on July 4th. I was able to make the reservation without any problems. This is a joke to reserve a taxi on a Holiday. When I called looking for the cab at the precise time, i was told by the dispatcher there was no taxi available, it was a holiday. SO really why would you even agree to make a reservation for a disabled person yet never intend to keep it. Makes no sense to me??? Is this how we do business today, leaving a disabled person stranded??? I am extremely dismayed about how taxis get business or keep business these days. As as the future unfolds I think taxis businesses will put themselves out of business and there will be no alternatives for the disabled. Things like MetroAcess vans are also unreliable and demand too much financial knowledge from the rider in need. In this modern world how can we be so backward with issues like this. If it was possible to do negative stars I would. They are AWFUL. Once when i called them it took them, they kept insisting that a cab was "on the way" and after an hour, I had to give up. When i called to complain, the manager was rude and abrupt acting like I had inconvenienced HER. They also have a presence at the Metro station (Rockville, Shady Grove) and protocol there dictates that you have to take the next cab in the line. I hate this because I don't want to give them ANY business at all. When I am forced to take their cabs, some of their drivers try to con you. One tried to help himself to a 3 dollar tip by giving me back only 10 dollars on a 7 dollar fare after i handed him a 20. Another took the longest, most circuitous route and when i complained, he told me that since I didn't tell him what route, he decided this one was the best way to go, as if he was doing me a favor. That company is bad managed, run and full of shyster drivers. I would not weep if they went out of business. If you don't have to use them. . .DON'T. And if you do, be vigilant about the drivers. Make sure you get the right change and they aren't taking you on a 15 minute ride where a 5 minute fare would suffice. read more

Used their cab from IAD to hotel in DC earlier this month. Tried to pay with credit card and driver said their machine is not working. Then, driver used manual swiper. Days later, I found out Regency charged same amount twice onto my card. I called Regency to get credit applied back to my credit card on the duplicate charge. The "cashier" wasn't available so I left message with my contact info. No response. Called next day again and again had to leave message. No response. Called again the next day and left message again. No response. Called again the following day and asked for manager in charge. Receptionist said Mike, who is the manager, is with someone right now. So, I again, left message. No callback from Mike. Few hours later, I called again to talk to Mike and he's now not in the office. I think I tried enough patiently and told the receptionist that you leave me no choice but to contact my credit card company and do chargeback. Receptionist then said "do whatevver you want". This is worst service I encountered over the phone from anywhere. Will not ever use their cab ever again. read more

Terrible. Don't use this company if you are trying to get somewhere on time. I called for a cab at 10:25am and was told it would be 20 minutes. At 10:55 i called back to see if they knew how much longer it would be. First I got put on hold then hung up on. Called back and they said they didn't have my request in the system so they would rush a cab and it would be 10 minutes. Cab finally arrived at 11:30. If I could afford to give this company 0 Stars, I would. This incident occurred only mins ago on 08.03.2012 @ 4:45ishAM. I entered a cab with a driver "Michael" (he provided me with the wrong name as per the night shift manager's word.) I asked him to take 16th Street to enter DC from Silver Spring, MD, he proceeds to go down Georgia Ave. I insist 16th, he throws a slight verbal tantrum, and U-turns. I explain I have to be somewhere soon, so if he wouldn't mind being expeditious, I'd greatly appreciate it. He then proceeds to move at an even more glacial pace. I ask for the name of the company, he refuses, but asks me why I need to know. I state, "So that I may never use it again, and share this word with friends, yelp, Twitter, and Facebook." He refuses me yet again. I get to my destination, he claims the CC machine is out of service. I leave the cab to disarm an alarm at my place of business (the fare is at $18.50). I then go back to the cab to pay with cash, the fare is now $19.00, I surrender a $20 bill, he says "Thank you" (YEAH....I was thinking the same thing here...lol,) I ask for my change back, he then gives me .50 cents, as he had the meter running after the funds were exchanged. His cab number is #1113, and he is a horrible person, as of my experience/observations from today. We, as people and the human race, need to do better with respecting others and taking responsibility for our actions. #DoBetter With responsibility being the ability to respond. Let's let love in and act as if others are just as important as we believe ourselves to be. I called today for taxi service for the first time at 738 p.m. to request a pick up at 901 N. Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg, the Ford Dealership on the corner of the cross street of Frederick Avenue and Christopher Avenue. I was informed that it would be 20 minutes. At 805 p.m. I called for an update as it was more than 20 min. (same female voice). The operator that I recognized her voice said she couldn't find me in the system and would have to put in another call so I would have to wait another 20 min. I told her the exact time I called, so she should couldn't see me in the system. I hung up and called again 5 min later, but spoke to a different person which was a man. I told him what had happened and that I was diabetic and the Ford Dealership is closed and in no way having any access to immediate food. I had my car towed there so now it's very late and need to eat. The dealership takes a large space with parking and I didn't see another building so I didn't want to walk in now night time. There's a building across the street but it's an office building. I saw a Hamilton Hotel at a distance but that won't have food as I didn't have cash. The man at your company who took my now 3rd call was kind but acknowledge yet again that I was not in the system but would ensure I would get picked up. I only waited 15 min. before the cab driver called me on my cell asking where I was. I told him same spot, standing right outside the main door (where the numbers 901 of the building are), THE ONLY main entrance facing the busy street of Frederick Avenue, standing outside in the humidity. He started yelling on the phone saying he's there but does not see me. I told him again, I'm right on the corder, underneath the only main entrance, if I take 30 steps I'm literally standing on the street corner. He kept yelling he's there and I'm not. So I started walking and there were five cars parked right by the main entrance where I was standing but could not see me because of the vehicles, he just happened to be on the opposite side of the building, underneath the Sheehe sign but the door is on the opposite side of the building but he was facing the show room. Regardless I only had to take another 20 steps and I saw his vehicle, just the parked cars were obstructing our view to see each other. So because I recognized this, I wasn't upset, until I get in the car and he keeps yelling at me that I said I was on the corner and he's parked under the corner of the building underneath the sign. and I'm thinking, who cares? You couldn't see me because of the parked view, I can easily argue I'm standing infront of the main entrance doorway that is next to the show room he was looking, and that I was literally standing underneath the street number 901 of the address, the building is ON the corner and I was on the main entrance. He was just parked in the left corner of the building, again near me. So who cares, he kept yelling I said on the corner and he's parked on the corner of the building so I finally had to yell at him that I didn't want to argue I just wanted to go home. So he yelled at me asking me where do I want to drive WHERE? So I told him he needed to exit same way he came in, but has to make a U turn on Frederick avenue because we need to go to Montgomery Village Avenue which he needs to make a left. Once we got to Montgomery Village Avenue on the red left turning signal I started giving him directions for when to make a right turn and he cut me off saying I know where I'm going! I'm thinking so you continued to be rude to me by yelling at me to see where I want to go at the parking lot. Exquisitely disappointing service. My reservation (made the day before) was unknown to the dispatcher when I called after the taxi did not show. Only after repeated calls by me was a taxi driver even awakened to pick me up - only to arrive in a cab that had apparently never been cleaned inside or outside. Grade F- on all counts except the cabbie was courteous and apologetic. Want to miss your morning flight? Call this cab company. Never again for me. read more

Use at your own risk as they don't honor advance reservations. On 4/29 I made a reservation to go to Dulles for 3 people. At the pickup time the next day no cab so I called and was told there was a delay and no information on when a cab was available. If I had not called we would have missed our flight to France. I am not one to complain about companies or throw a fit when things don't go as expected. However.... The other day, I was due to be at work at 4. I called the company at 3:30, precisely. The operator talked so slow that I grew inpatient suddenly, something that doesn't often happen. By the time she booked the cab, having me repeat my info a few times, 3 minutes had passed. No biggie, sometimes they come within minutes. She told me 10-20 minutes. 3:57 came by and there was still no cab. SO I called my job and told them I'd be a few minutes late. Another 10 minutes went by. I called the company to track my cab. They said it was "4" minutes away. After another 10 minutes, it finally arrived. Then today, I called Regency at 4:30, having to be at work by 5. The operator talked so slow. She had me repeat my name multiple times, then asked for my phone number than pick up address. Then asked for my phone number again. Then my pick up address. Then she asked where I was going. I told her the address to my job. She asked me to repeat it. I did. She asked me to repeat it again. I did, this time saying the Title of the restaurant. She then told me that address didn't exist, nor did the street. I repeated myself again, this time through gritted teeth. She then found it, and asked how I'd pay and if they could reach me on "this number" (repeating my number back) followed by my address and pick up address, and lastly my name. You can imagine my frustration. At 4:52, I see the driver finally pull up in my space, and found it odd he didn't call the phone. I got my bag and went to the door, and the driver literally drove away. I call my job, tell them I'll be a few minutes late. I called the company back, the operator, a different woman, apologized profusely and told me the cab would be there soon, within the next 5 minutes or so. I waited a until 5:22, if not longer, then decided to call a relative for a ride. Needless to say, Regency needs to get it's shit together. While waiting for the cab, called back to check on the status, the operator on the phone was quite rude and suggested me to cancel if I can not wait (no apologies, no courtesy whatsoever)... The taxi driver was on time, and gave me a phone call to alert me when he was close to my home. The trunk was spacious and the minivan was comfortable. Overall it was a great experience, I will be using this taxi company again. read more

Torn between a '3' and a '4' but I'll give the higher rating nonetheless. I have used this service once. I called mid-afternoon and the dispatcher said '10-20 minutes'. They arrived in perhaps 10-15; no complaints there. The car was fine, no problems, no odors etc. The driver was a bit fast, but I made it to my destination safely. The driver was not particularly pleasant of chatty, and so overall I can't say it was my favorite taxi experience - but they did nothing to justify a low rating. I'd probably give them another go someday. read more

One hour and 3 phone calls later finally got picked up in a very rickety Regency cab. From the back seat I watched the driver ignore his GPS and blatantly turn the wrong way. After the meter hit $24 and our hotel was nowhere in site I called the dispatch center, the child who answered the call said that if I was in a taxi that wasn't taking me to my destination I should call 911 because I've probably just been kidnapped. Worst cab ride, worst customer service ever. It only cost $13 to get where we going earlier with the same company. Never again. read more

This cab company is absolutely terrible. I was using them pretty consistently for mainly short trips to get around my town. Not only did I constantly experience and have to deal with them not being on time but I had to put up with their drivers complaining and lecturing to me about how it was unfair for them to pick me up for a "short trip". This happened on two separate occasions and lead me to call and speak to a manager for being made to feel as though the length of my trip wasn't long/good enough or worth their time. I was also given an attitude whenever I needed to pay with a credit card, which is ridiculous . Their drivers are rude and would even sometimes honk the horn long and several times in my boyfriends neighborhood late at night instead of calling my phone to let me know they had arrived. Unfortunately their drivers make this company look bad overall and leads me to not just believe but to know that they are simply unprofessional and sloppy as a business. They will no longer be getting my service and I recommend to anyone needing a cab to call a different company if you want a cab that arrives on time, that you don't have to call to see what happened multiple times for, and that has polite and professional drivers. read more

Yesterday I was bullied by one of their drivers who was behind me on the road. He honked his horn at me on two consecutive turns for no good reason. He was even making frustrated gestures with his hands after he honked for a second time. When you have to turn and yield to oncoming traffic, if you turn to early, you will crash. How is this simple fact lost on someone who drives for a living? I for one would not want to get into a cab driven by such an overly aggressive driver. read more

I downloaded the Regency Taxi app; to book reservations online and have mobile access. We had a confirmed reservation# // time and date and a $2 promo code. -The booking was done @ 9am.---Same day; a dispatcher calls me @ 4:30p; asked where I was to going; I povided address and was again confirmed; we contend Regency Taxi refused service due to a 5 mile trip. In addition; no one showed up for the 6:45p booking. I missed 1.5 hrs of a special event and had to ask another attendee to pick me up. In addition; I called them at 6:45p to re-assure cab; at that time dispatch said a driver had aleady been out for pick-up.--No way---no one ever showed. ---This company is useless and shouldn't be sucking customers into an online booking system which is bogus.---They pass the buck and have poor communication. Poor service, poor communication and definitely interested in profitable trips; not a cab company--rather a book for profit business. ----Cab Association and the monopoly in the Wash DC Metro area has to be contested ---We need alternatives to the current monopoly and alternatives in competitive transport. read more
