I found Montgomery Xpress on Yelp and opted to use them versus Uber. I called them and made a round trip reservation for pick up at BWI and drop off a week later. I didn't have to wait, the drivers communicated with me and in the case going to the airport my driver arrived 5 mins early ! I was very happy with the service I was proved and couldn't recommend them more. I'll remember them when I return to the area. read more

I booked Montgomery Xpress for transport from Silver Spring to Dulles. The driver showed up on time, drove carefully and very skillfully, and knew his way around traffic jams and especially the goat cluster accident on 495. Thanks Yelpers for helping me find a reliable taxi service! I have used Montgomery Xpress several times this year and I am very impressed with them. They make reservations simple and hassle-free. Also the drivers were on time (sometimes a few minutes early) and they are safe drivers. I also appreciate that they are respectful and I always had very delightful conversations with the drivers, unlike my past experiences with Uber/Lyft drivers. There was one time where I was overcharged for my ride but when I called customer service, they were extremely helpful and my problem was resolved very quickly. I have used Armand and Montgomery xpress for the last 4.5 years regularly for my taxi/pickup and drop off needs and I am happy to say they have not disappointed me once. I would have probably taken a 100 trips with a variety of drivers and all of them are on time and courteous. As is the nature of air travel, changes are common. Armand and his team have always been accommodating and adjusted their schedules to fit my needs. They even provide service for pick of people who may not be fluent in English. I know some of their drivers by name now- Armand himself the owner, ricardo, Geneva etc. Their rates are very competitive and their online booking system is very convenient. You get a confirmation via email. Some of their cabs now have an iPad and Internet service too. Just wow! I would wholeheartedly recommend them any day. We used Montgomery Xpress every time we needed to get to/from BWI, IAD, and DCA this year (~ a dozen times). They are consistently dependable, safe, and quick. In fact, regardless of the time of day, they have yet to arrive late when picking is up. Plus, their vehicles seem to be very well maintained, and their rates are very competitive. Armand is one of their drivers and deserves special mention, as he is very accommodating and has handled changes in passenger count / destination and/or extra stops painlessly -- even at the last minute. He never acts inconvenienced, which is appreciated. And all of their drivers we have encountered are friendly and balance knowing when you want to talk or just want to crash after a late flight. The owner was extremely considerate and flexible as we worked with the hospital to come up with a dismissal day and time. I literally joined Yelp JUST to leave a review for Armand. After a smooth trip to the airport for our flight out, everything that could go wrong did go wrong on our return. I messed up the time for my pick-up request, the plane was re-routed and late getting due to thunderstorms, and then our luggage took forever to be unloaded. Against all odds! Armand and his team are an absolutely outstanding airport shuttle company. They managed to get us to BWI from Gaithersburg in time to make our flight in spite of: a bad snow/ice storm, a flat tire on the first vehicle on the ICC resulting from one of those giant potholes, two traffic-stopping accidents on I95N, which the 2nd driver circumvented by taking a shortcut over to BW parkway. Montgomery Express makes getting to the airport and back so easy and effortless. We have used them several times and they are always on time, pleasant, helpful and most important reliable. It is worth a little extra money to be sure you don't miss your plane (we almost did once with a regular shuttle), not waste time picking or dropping off other passengers. Sorry to bring your score down, MXT, but this was my first and last experience with your shuttle. I put in an online order from G'burg to BWI airport and back. Got the same driver both ways. She informed me on pickup (right on time) that she couldn't pick me up before 6:30 am on my return (red-eye) flight from L.A. "Why did it allow me to put in that time online?," I asked. She didn't know, other than "we're not allowed to pick up before 6:30am." It took her an hour and half, on back roads, to get me to BWI. The day before my flight home from LA, I had a cell phone conversation with the same driver, confirming that she would pick me up the next morning at BWI. I told her I'd call when my flight arrived to let her know which baggage area door I'd wait, curbside, until she arrived at the "allowed time" of 6:30 am. My flight arrived, right on time, at 5:35 am. I called her cell phone number. Caller "unavailable" it said. "Try again later." I tried again later, repeatedly, for the next hour. Couldn't leave voice mail on her number. Texted her a warning, then called MXT main office. BINGO. She calls me to ask for the door number, and says she'll be there in "5 minutes." At 6:52 am, she arrived curbside. Need I say more? read more

I wanted to write a review for each excellent staff person, and driving experience, because they each deserve high praise !!! But "Yelp" lets me write only one :-( So, here goes: Using Armand (husband), Minerva (wife) and Atef (friend) (they have about 6 people, these are the 3 I have interacted with), was a distinct relief in every way, especially after reading all the horror stories for all, and I do mean ALL, the other cab companies in the Maryland/Virginia/D.C. area (!). Armand/Atef/Minerva are all not only courteous and respectful, but KIND and nice! They call to let you know when they'll be there !!!- which is *early* !!! And, no, you are not charged for that! But don't worry, they don't make you feel rushed ! They are early so *you* can relax that they are there. So there is no chewing your nails, like with OTHER companies, worrying you'll miss your plane, worrying are they even coming? Fretting that when you placed your request, did it actually get logged? Having to call again the morning-of, and then an hour-before, to make SURE someone is coming... discovering at the last minute that *no one* is coming! And then going crazy trying to get some other company to show up in time to still make your flight ... There is NONE OF THAT with Montgomery Xpress Transportation,, NO WORRIES AT ALL. You can make ONE phone call, and RELAX. They *WILL* be there !!! They have NICE CLEAN BIG CARS. Very roomy! I was the only one traveling, but I could have been traveling with quite a large group and we all would have been very comfortable. They have SAFE DRIVERS !!! Atef, Minerva, and Armand, were driving me during the 2014 winter of blizzard after blizzard !!! Even during a *blizzard*, they were safe drivers, and managed to pick me up at the airport, and get me home safely, and that was in spite of all the traffic accidents, closed roads, and terrible driving conditions! They TAKE CREDIT CARDS. I live in Texas. I drove up to the Maryland area, and ended up spending 3 1/2 months there, instead of my intended 2 weeks, because I could never coordinate my business schedule and the blizzards in order to have time to drive home. So I ended up doing business travel, unexpectedly from Maryland. In Texas, nobody bats an eye if you expect to pay with a credit card. When I started reading the reviews in Maryland, to try and find some cab company to take me to and from the airport, apparently, from the reviews, that seems to be a big hassle in this area. In the reviews for other companies, I read multiple accounts of the driver refusing to drive someone who intended to pay with a credit card, or out-right lying that their credit card machine was broken - the worst review I read, the driver claimed the credit card machine was broken, the customer said "no it isn't" and pushed a button or whatever and proved it was working, the driver then just plain refused to drive the customer, yelled at him to get out of the cab, the customer refused to budge, so the driver got out of the cab and said he wasn't coming back until the customer left, the customer STILL stubbornly sat in the cab, and eventually the driver returned, and said he was just going to drive his cab home - with the customer in it - and park and go inside and leave the customer sitting in the cab! Finally the customer somehow got a dispatcher involved, but GEEZ! I read story after story along these lines, in reviews for other cab companies in the tri-state area. So I was quite concerned about asking if Montgomery Airport Express would take credit cards... I didn't bring enough cash for a bunch of taxi rides! And I didn't want to have a shouting match with somebody telling me at the last minute they wouldn't drive me after all, because of how I wanted to pay! Well, NO WORRIES - *ALL* the drivers for Montgomery Xpress are FINE with accepting credit cards. Perfectly polite! No attitude, no grumbling, very courteous ! It will cost $3 more than using cash, which seems fair as that's what the credit card companies take from them. Ideally, let them know in advance, which way you will be paying. THEY HAVE FLAT RATES !!! So there is none of the gouging by using unnecessarily long routes, etc., like I read about for other companies. It was $60 for me from my house (Rockville) to BWI, which is wayyyy cheaper than anybody else . When I was researching trying to find a taxi company to use, the online area tourist taxi information that I found said to expect a fare charge of $98 !!!!!!!! I would go on and on, but Yelp limits the length of a post, too. So I'll just say this: I won't use any other Taxi service up here, from now on, and that's that ! read more
