I don't usually go to the southside, but when I do it's to China Town and Reggie's. I always walk straight up to the rooftop where they have basketball, pool and a bar. Fans in the summer time that will mist you as needed. I usually get competitive with basketball and will try to outshoot anyone I'm with. So I usually don't write reviews but I really feel like this is rather important. So last Friday myself and two friends venture to the rooftop for a few beers and and a little food. Naturally it's packed but my friend who swears by this place finds a few seats on the side of another party so we squeeze in there ready for a fun night of gossiping and catching up. Well we are waiting for a waitress to come grab our order,No one comes. We flag another waitress and ask who is our server,she said she would check but mysteriously never came back. Ok well we know its busy it's a Friday evening so we're not to put off yet surely she will get to us. Another 10mins we flag a different waitress and ask if we can place our order,oh I'm not your waitress ,let me see if I can get her. So by now we thirsty its a hot Friday nite so my friend finally heads to the bar to grab drinks. Ok we've got some drinks but we can't get a waitress to take our food order. Mind you their are waitresses at nearby tables taking orders from customers that just sat down. Finally we flag another waitress is been 30-40 minutes without a waitress she comes over a says she will send our waitress over immediately and apologizes for our wait. Ok we are getting some where now. Another 10 mins and still no waitress. By this time the waitress named Danielle who was trying to find our waitress took pity on us and said I'll just take your orders. Thank you Jesus for Danielle who took our orders and was actually fabulous the rest of the night! She couldn't have been more attentive. The food was great and the drinks kept coming. Their was even a group from a school I believe it was Graham that helps special needs children and they told us that the owner had help donate and that they were going to be selling tee shirts they had cards and flowers and even fresh eggs for him. We wanted to address the situation at that time with him but we really didn't want to spoil such a wonderful moment. Honestly I would have given this review 5 stars if we hadn't been ignored for so long. I'm not sure why they were ignoring us. ( we were just sitting trying to get service,I would hate to think it was for some other reason..... Well Kudos to Danielle she was fabulous.The food drink and atmosphere were great. Best wings in the city. Always has a fantastic selection of beers and has great prices. The rooftop is great at all times of the year and the crowd is always friendly. This bar makes it hard to go out anywhere else in the city. read more

Visited Reggie's for the first time for a pool league match. Loved how the table is located on the rooftop deck where a lot of action happens. The venue is awesome and it's definitely a casual, fun hang out type of hoppin' place. I didn't eat, so I couldn't tell you how they add up in that area, but I can say it was extremely busy that night due to wing night. The wings looked mighty large in size too. I really like the rooftop, creative and urban. We don't really get a lot of that in the southside but this bucked the trend. It gets a pretty diverse crowd too. The food is okay nothing extremely special but decent, it does its job. They have great drink deals throughout the week. You can stay up on the rooftop and hang with friends with a little pool or shooting hoops or you can take a trip downstairs and listen to live music. I've heard metal, rock, jam, and house at some point in time here so you really can't put a specific label on this place, its all good. read more

Went there 7/19/14 and had a good time. The weather was perfect which made night even better. Beer was good and service was acceptable. Food smelled really good. Music was a nice sound so we were able to talk with others. I read other reviews that talked about the dirty restrooms and yes they are disgusting. I will go back it was a good experience. read more

Good drinks. The rooftop is gorgeous on a warm night. They wouldn't let us carry alcohol from the ground floor upstairs and vice versa which proved more annoying than you'd think. The band downstairs was really good too. read more

I visited this restaurant on Aug 31, 2016 with coworkers. Expected to have a great time, but it was not even close to that. The staff is rude as hell and it took 40 minutes for my chicken quesadilla appetizer to be served. Staff was very unapologetic and made sure you knew they didn't give a f$&!. I will NEVER go back and will advise friends and family to do the same. Not sure if it's just Wednesday nights that you get horrible service, but I don't care. I would give Reggie's 0 stars if I could. Great bar and rooftop; horrible customer service. Loved Reggie's and continued to support them despite sporadically abysmal service because it's relatively close to my office. We've held several after-work functions here and I hoped to continue to patronize them because of their proximity. After having drinks spilled on me and my boss by an unapologetic waitress and a serious run-in with a nasty barkeep over an aggressive patron playing pool, I'm done with this establishment. I told the unprofessional bartender (who did not overhear the altercation, but sided with the jerk patron) as much and he agreed that I should never return after calling me a liar. I thought it best to exceed his request and share this incident with my friends, family and Yelp so that they can be forewarned of how Reggie's treats patrons. This is a great year-round place to just hang out for a drink, watch a game, eat some homemade pub food, play free pool or meet friendly people. Separate enclosed smoking area with a fire pit in the winter. Pet friendly too. Downstairs there's great live music in an intimate setting. read more

I truly enjoyed the Women in Blues event! Wrapping up a 2-day birthday celebration with my sister & closest of friends. A conversation took place between me, who I presumed is the manager, & a staff member due to an unforeseen incident. And to this particular young lady your discourteous attitude (towards us) brought on your consequence to which I retract my apology. You obviously lost the concept of cause and effect! My buddy has been trying to get me to come here for quite awhile, and it took the offer of a cheap concert ticket to make it hapen. Yes, I am one of those northside dipshits who think that nothing worthwhile happens south of Madison. Get over it. You southsiders think the same about us. But Reggie's made a big dent in that opinion. So my friend got tix to go see Truckfighters and Marmora (Truckfighters are a little better band but I enjoyed Marmora mormora - ha ha good God that was stupid). We got there early so we went to the bar to grab some pre-show grub and drinks and are you shittin' me I can get a Surly Furious draft for $3.50 WTF?!?!? That's what it costs per can at Binny's. So on Mondays every beer on their 25 Drafts list is half-price. Surly, Delerium, Hoegaarden and on and on. Excellent draft beer selection. Half-friggin' price which (again) puts them at damn near store prices. (The bottles and cans are also strong.) AND on Mondays they have $4 Maker's. Within 2 minutes of sitting down, we decided this is going to be an at least once-a-month destination, if not more. The decor is cool, brick, beams, industrial and not in a "hey let's throw up a brand new place and make it look hipster" kind of way. Our server, Clara, was a doll. Always smiling, very pleasant. The only downside was the food. The menu looks awesome. Unfortunately, the execution came up short. The wings I had heard so much about were very disappointing. I got the Fire, they were just all pepper, and the oil temp was too low so they didn't get anywhere near crispy and just turned into oil sponges. My friend's reuben was nothing to write home about. Short on 'kraut, bread was undergrilled so it was just soft. Too bad, if the food was half as good as the descriptions, it'd be great. We also got to check out the roof deck. Great views, good layout, bartender was cool. Still happy up in Lakeview, but definitely gonna be getting down this way more often. read more

This place is awesome! PBR tall boys on special, hot wings, NBA Finals, good fire burning in the corner, pop a shot the other corner, people of all races and creeds mixing together, businessman to punk rockers, male and female crowd about 50 50, outdoor pool table 8 small screens and one giant projection screen, overall pretty good place to spend some time. Biggest downside is slow service and scary bath rooms. You can watch the EL go by 50 ft away from you. Nice place to stumble upon only short walk from my hotel (Hyatt Regency McCormick place). this place is awesum!! came here with a friend after a good workout of kayakin so we were starvin! we had the mixed flavor wings and the nachos. the wings were buffalo & bbq flavor but u could definitely taste the spice. yummy! the nachos were good too but i wouldve liked more tomatoes & some lettuce on it. the desserts were unreal! they were huge! i had the brownie with vanilla ice cream & she had the apple pie with ice cream. they use vanilla bean ice cream which is exactly the type of vanilla i like! the brownie was chewy & sweet. her apple pie was like 1/4 of a whole pie! needless 2 say, we were stuffed! our waitress ginger rocked too so that definitely helps when u have a great server! we wanna come back when they show a movie on the projector! plus i wanna try the shower in the corner! its very flashdance like! there were people performin last nite in that area so i couldnt try the shower but i definitely want 2!! read more

"The worst experience I've had ever going to a local bar." A colleague of mine recommended going to Reggie's for drinks and food after work. It was a total of twelve professionals just trying to have a good time. It was my first time there. When I arrived they carded me at the front door which was no problem, but two minutes later as I walked up the roof top I was randomly approached by someone who looks like a drunk asking me for my ID. I told him that I was already carded downstairs that's the only way I could've gained access. I showed him my ID anyway noting that he didn't ask anyone else for theirs. Next they did not have enough waitresses working because after waiting twenty minutes with my colleagues I went to the bar to get a drink. While at the bar I saw the waitress who served my friends earlier and asked her could I place an order with her for food. She asked me if I'm adding my order to their tab and I said no I'll pay cash. She told me that they do not accept cash on the roof top only credit. That made no sense. Later after I was eating I overheard her telling other patrons that she accepted cash and credit. I asked her why she told me that they did not accept cash. Her response was that they take cash and credit for the buffet only. (REALLY)(UNBELEIVABLE). My fork fell to the ground while I was eating, not able to get a waitresses attention I went over to the buffet stand to get a plastic fork and napkins. The same guy who resembles a drunk approached me again to ask me if I had a buffet wristband. I felt like this was too much and overbearing. I looked at him in disbelief and he walked away after he realized I wasn't getting food from the buffet and that I was pissed. Needless to say because I didn't want to ruin the night for my colleagues I stayed and did not bitch to the manager. At the end of the evening the waitress came to our table with the bills and would you believe she then took cash from everyone. I've owned a loft three blocks away from there for the past thirteen years so I am a part of the community. Reggie's will never get a recommendation from me or my colleagues and I will continue to spread the word about the treatment and service that I received. read more
