Reggie's Veggies is a cute local spot where you can find fresh fruits, veggies, microgreens, gifts, pumpkins, and Christmas trees depending on the season. I love supporting small businesses and they really do offer a nice variety of produce. If you enjoy fresh fruits and veggies, this is a good place to stop. For me it can be hit or miss. I recently went to look at Christmas trees and none of them were labeled for type, height, or price. There was only one employee working that I could see. He greeted us when we arrived and then seemed to disappear, so there was no one to ask for help. We ended up leaving because we had no idea what the trees cost. Overall, Reggie's Veggies has a lot of great food options in stock and is worth visiting for produce, but the experience can depend on staffing and the time of year. read more

I recently called Reggie's veggies to get pricing on flats of strawberries. I was quoted nine dollars or 12 for organic. Because my daughter works in Boise I had her stop by and pick up a couple flats which the employee picked out of their refrigerator van. The top flat of strawberries looked good, but when you look at the bottom of each container, there were moldy strawberries in everyone. The second Flat, which, of course was hidden was full of moldy strawberries. My daughter just assumed they would be providing fresh good fruit, and didn't look at them because she had already paid. When she went to unload them out of the car, she realized they were all rotten . We contacted Reggie's veggies the next day and they refused to accept the flats back. Definitely not the same Reggie's veggies that my mother used to go to. Would not recommend anyone to go there. read more

For the past few years, a couple friends of mine and I have traveled up north to cut down our Christmas trees. We usually plan on Thanksgiving weekend to go the first or second week of December. So naturally, I just assumed we were going again this year since my one friend, she said, "our annual Christmas tree trip!" She said that last year. I didn't hear those happy words this year. However I still assumed we were going to go. I didn't want to bug them so I refrained from texting and what not. Saw my buddy at the gym and he was like, "she said we would go if you wanted to" I'm like...hell yeah I wanna go! But I'm not trying to make y'all go if you're just doing a fake tree this year. Said he would text me. Never heard from him. So like a sad kid, standing outside his birthday party, hoping his friends would show up, balloon in hand...they did not show up lol. So as that kid would do, a single year rolled down my cheek and I slowly let go of the balloon and in slow mo...it launched into the sky .. with R.E.M.'s Everybody Hurts playing in the background lol Ok, it wasn't all that dramatic. However, I was a little heartbroken we didn't go. It's fun for me. So the roommate and I didn't get our tree until December 22nd. For a couple weeks, I'd drive by Reggies and I'd say to myself, something tells me, ima be getting the tree from there. I checked a few other places and legit one place on State St had a 4ft tree, ugly as hell lol, for $200! That place is a joke. I checked out Reggies and even they were expensive, but you could get a much bigger tree for that money. We went there a week before Christmas and asked for a deal. He said we could come back the week of Christmas and he'd help us out. So we did just that. Hate to get personal personal, but I'm on a fixed income. My fitness instructor job was nice for little extra $. Was gonna use that for the tree. Seeing as Idaho Fitness Factory let us all go..3 days before we got the tree...yeah it hurt lol. We ended up getting like a 14ft tree for $100. Normally $200. I still have it up as I type this lol. It went up late, so we kept it up later than usual. It's a beautiful tree and I can't thank Reggies enough for helping us out. What a truly nice man. Everything from him just kind of radiated..positivity. Im glad his stand is still there. The new apartments right on top of him kinda suck, but makes me happy, no joke, every time I drive by it makes me happy to see him still there. It kinda gives me a sense of comfort because with as fast as Boise is changing and not necessarily for the better, it's nice to see a place like his still there while everything around it changes so drastically. When it's not Christmas, this place has amazing fruits and veggies. If you love produce & NOT from a big box store, absolutely support this man and his business. I LOVE this place!!! Stopped by yesterday for some spaghetti squash and loved all the other goodies they have there. Ended up with a 7 lb squash and a jar of habanero garlic. The girl working at the register yesterday was very cool and was a big help. So far, the garlic is DELICIOUS and the squash is on standby to cook tomorrow. My impression was a lot of tired produce. Much not of local sourcing. Prices are high and not appealing to us. Won't be returning.

I called ahead to ask for apricots by the box. They said they had local ones. I bought a box and got home and realized they were all either freezer damaged or old. I looked on the box and it says they were packaged three weeks ago. No wonder. read more

Would not recommend this place unless you like overpaying for the worst available product. If you like your produce on the verge of spoiled and in some cases actually spoiled then go to Reggie's. Outrageous prices for literally wilted fruit and vegetables that most people wouldn't feed to their hogs. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. Biggest rip off in Boise operating under the guise of being some sort of farmers market, what a joke. Go see for your self. Shriveled grapes, avocados as soft as water balloons, mushy onions, shriveled potatoes, dried out citrus, and so on. Any other retailer in town throws away their product when it gets as bad as Reggie's. read more

I love Reggie's Veggies! I Stop in year round for whatever is in season. In the summer watermelons are my favorite but lately I have been eating my weight in Honeycrisp apples. Last week I got my Christmas tree here, and I love it. I even got a 5% discount for paying cash! Whether it's Reggie working, or his other employees - everyone there is always helpful, friendly, and even ready with a treat for my dog :-) I Reggie's Veggies certainly has earned my loyalty and appreciation for quality produce. read more

We hadn't gone to Reggie's for quite a while. Decided to stop in and grab a watermelon and cantalope. The cantalope was really good but the watermelon was horrible. It had large cracks on the inside. I took it back and the fellow was very apologetic and said he would hand pick one. He went through 3 different kinds and 5-6 watermelons and they all had the same issue. He ended up giving me two cantalopes to replace the watermelon. After cutting the two up, the taste was bad. We ended up throwing them out. It's difficult to find great melons around, but that is just been my experience. There was a Mexican fellow that had a truck 2 years ago on the corner of Five Mile and Fairview. He had the best melons ever but we have no idea where he went. We sure miss him and his products. Thank you, Reggie's for trying to take care of the problem but this time it just went from bad to worse. read more

We always buy local ! And have bought from Reggie's Veggies many times. If you buy huckleberries from his stand - check to make sure they are Idaho Huckleberries and not coastal Huckleberries. Know you Huckleberries and check them out before purchasing - I DIDN"T - the ones I bought are small, high in tannins and just not like Idaho Huckleberries. I love Reggie's Veggies! Fresh produce at a fraction of the cost when compared to local grocery stores. He's got a little fruit-stand type deal on a corner, it's not actually a building but it seems to work. I most recently bought apples, strawberries, cucumbers, and beautiful blood oranges and was pretty surprised when he told me my total. I always try to head over here before my weekly grocery store trek so I can get good deals. They're also always friendly! I'd recommend this little stop to anyone. read more

Have enjoyed Reggie's off and on for many years. Prices always fair. Better than supermarket prices. Staff great, friendly, helpful. Is everything perfect? Nope. But I haven't found anyplace that is. What a disappointment! I had been so eager to try this veggie/fruit stand and finally made it this past weekend. Not only were prices not good--the quality was horrible. Virtually every bin I searched seemed to have only damaged, bruised, or somewhat "aged"/shriveled product and I already had to throw out some red potatoes that I bought less than 4 days ago PLUS as I'm pretty positive this is the same place, he was selling very expensive little apple/huckleberry pies and the one I bought was approximately $6 and was so stale I had to throw out most of the mini pie. The crust was stale and no amount of trying to bake it or revive it helped. Sorry, I had great hopes for good quality and found little that I could buy and it was all clearly old as to have to throw out red potatoes (normally quite hardy and resilient) less than 4 days after buying them is not acceptable. I do not plan to return. read more
