The "manager" is constantly yelling and snapping, making the entire environment extremely stressful. I go there to have calm shopping time, plan my next meals, and overall have quiet time. This usually isn't a problem as I like to come early in the morning, before it gets busy I hear. However even when it is slow, I still get attitude from certain people there. I've talked to the short blonde old lady a few times, and every single time she is extremely rude to me, or I see her mistreating her employees. I've had problems in the past, last year I bought a rotten watermelon, and after trying to get his attention for FIVE minutes (too busy listening to his airpods) the young man refused to give me a refund. INFURIATING. I cannot fathom coming back ever again. Most of the younger folk are very polite and helpful, but have no time to actually help because they're always being micromanaged by the older ones. I've started to dread grocery shopping and will definitely be taking my business somewhere else.

But if one looks beyond the Faygo® - and the perpetual blanks on the shelves of Stonehenge's Shaker-style pie cabinet - there's a lot to like about Stonehenge Produce. And although this location on Overland pales in comparison to the original Stonehenge white barn on Fairview, the Overland Stonehenge does a fair job of providing locally- or regionally-sourced produce, dairy, eggs, meats, and treats, to residents of Boise's southeast side. Such services are of particular utility between Halloween and April, when the farmers markets are hibernating, leaving Stonehenge as one of the only places to procure farm-fresh eggs. And for those trying their hand at cheesemaking, Stonehenge carries Cloverleaf whole milk and Natural Farm Fresh raw milk. I also take out-of-towners to Stonehenge for local honey, spice blends, pastas, and jellies. My main issues with Stonehenge include the remarkably short shelf life of their produce (my bosc pears liquefied within two days of purchase), and their lack of fresh cuts of meat (all local meats at Stonehenge are frozen). I have driven by this shop a million times but never got the chance to make it in. After checking out all their photos and goodies off their website, making my way in today was a must. The shop is very small and intimate. You are immediately greeted by all the goodies as soon as you walk in. Colorful macarons, the cutest cheesecakes and beautifully displayed scones and muffins. The display case is nice and bright, allowing you to be able to see the details and coloring of each macaron. The pretty piping on the cheesecake. The fun layers of the cakes. It was hard not to want one of each thing out of the case. It was our first visit for my daughter and I. As a new customer, you're trying to absorb everything about this store. You want to look at all your options! The gal that initially was going to help us pretty much just stood there and stared at us. Didn't really talk to us. Didn't ask if we had any questions. She had the most unpleasant look on her face. It honestly made me feel so unwanted and uncomfortable to be at the shop. I offered to let another customer go ahead of us so she wasn't just standing there waiting for us to order something. The second customer also needed some time. Finally a gentleman came in and she got him some coffee started. Another gal was working and she helped us. At that point, I was so turned off about getting anything but we were already there so we decided to grab a few things. My daughter and I decided to share a 6 pack of macarons. We snagged lemon, birthday cake, coffee, chocolate, creme brulee and cookies and cream as our flavor choices. She also got a red velvet cheesecake for us to share after dinner tonight. On our ride home, we broke that box of macarons open and had to try them all. The lemon was sweet and tangy, I love the lemon custard in the middle. Birthday cake reminds me of a pink frosted animal cookie. The chocolate was my favorite! Very chocolate forward and sweet. Coffee reminded me of a vanilla latte in cookie form. Cookies and cream was much like cookies and cream ice cream. More cream forward and less chocolate cookie. Creme brulee had sugar toasted on top which created a slight bitterness to the cookie but it was balanced with how sweet the cookie was. All 6 macarons were fabulous! I look forward to having the red velvet cheesecake after dinner tonight. I like that there are so many gluten free options at this bakery. I adore how petite and prettily decorated the pastries were. I appreciate that this joint is local as I love supporting local businesses. But, first impressions are so huge for me and my first impression of their customer service wasn't there for me. You can push out great products all you want but how you make someone feel during their purchase can make or break your business. As fantastic as my macarons were, all I can think about was how uncomfortable I was when I was just being stared at. Macarons and cheesecake can be purchased at a few joints in our valley. I'm happy I got to enjoy some goodies with my daughter but I'm going to go support another local business that will actually make me feel like a valued customer and not a bother.

All the food is amazing - the Basque meatballs is a bit on the saltier side but the Sheepherder's bread is so crispy and buttery! Among the pintxos, I loved the seafood and chorizo gratin the most, but all are delicious. The braised lamb and potatoes are good - the lamb is juicy while the potatoes were flavorful and slightly crispy. Service is good for an order at the counter style establishment - servers still walk around and check up on customers, even though the rest of the experience (filling water, etc) is more self-serve.

Just a little factory in an older but well kept building with an older lady sitting behind a tiny counter (stacks of paperwork behind her), ready to take your order or answer questions! You get the picture. They have several antique items and machinery. Behind a windowed door you can peek into the factor that concocts these delicious things!
