    $13.80 turkey sandwich.
    Liz S.

Nice idea and great bread. However, as one of my friends called it, this is a store for "rich hippies." Two sandwiches and a small side of beet salad came to $40. The beet salad was just cubed beets tossed in oil, with two dime-sized things that I hope were nuts. It was my fourth visit. I've never felt welcome. And the owner seems to look down her nose at customers--I'd thought it was because I was wearing a mask, but apparently not. I wish I could help them improve the customer experience. **The little apothecary is not included in this review. Their staff is lovely and welcoming. The Green Goddess sandwiches are very good. Note: you will be charged for the box they put your sandwich in. "Next time, bring Tupperware," I was advised.

Inside out: this place is easy to get in and out of with ample parking. The building is cute on the outside though older, inside is modern, beautiful, well organized, clean, and has a space for about anything and more you could think of. It's not just a grocery place. They have an adorable little café with delicious goods made from their own produce. They have a vast selection of spices and soaps and reusable sustainable goods. If you have a glass jars and don't know what to do with them this place will up cycle them and you can bring them to put your goods in. Just remember to weigh the jar before you add what you are buying so they can calculate at the register. They have a classroom and classes available to learn about sustainable living and other things. Service: there is not a single bad thing I can say about the service. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to help. The food: They have an amazing selection of things to eat and delicious homemade soda. They have free Wi-Fi and ample seating. I would love to come down here and get a glass of soda read a book browse the Internet or work on any of the more stressful things in life in a relaxed environment. I went with a friend for a meet up and it was a lovely place to have a conversation with great music and relaxing atmosphere. This place is small local and unique I highly recommend it to anyone.

    Bee Pollen

Wanted to love this place, but just didn't meet expectations. I knew it would be pricy but holy smokes was it. I came in here seeking shampoo, conditioner and body wash as I recently got reusable shower containers and want to limit plastic bottle waste, thought I'd buy in bulk here. I decided to fill my shampoo 3/4 full and conditioner 1/2 full as I wanted to test it out for a few weeks and it was $27....the deli sandwiches start at like $12. I would come back here for specific things like bee pollen , but otherwise I just didn't find much I would buy at this time. Will try again.

Roots Zero Waste Market in Garden city is the first and only full service organic zero waste grocery store and Café in the US. This neighborhood store offers "healthy bulk foods, fruits and vegetables, refillable household cleaning and personal care products, as well as a full-service deli that includes freshly prepared meals." Roots is a beautifully designed store with lots of great products but my favorite thing about this business is it's wonderful produce. Produce is delivered fresh from the farm to their market three times a week to ensure freshness. Roots utilizes 180 regional organic growers and 20 local farms. Inside Roots is a business called Vervain, which is a plant based apothecary. Location: 3308 W. Chinden Blvd. Hours: Monday to Saturday: 9 AM to 7 PM Sunday: 9 AM to 5 PM Highly Recommended!!!

Personal care section - very cool refillable shampoo and conditioner as well as soaps and different clays for face

When you walk in, you will order from one of the friendly servers, who will give you a number for your order. Then, you can pick a spot around the room to sit. They have one large table, a handful of tables with bench seating along the wall, a high-top area, and counter-space bar-like seats. Lots of people were working while they drank lattes and ate food. We chose the egg, bacon, avocado sandwich, and an egg scramble to share. The sandwich was insanely good. The bacon is super crispy. The egg was perfectly cooked. The bun was buttery, toasted, and the avocados were real and mushy. It was such a thick sandwich. Getting it all in your mouth was tricky, but each perfect bite was phenomenal. We also got the simple scramble, which was scrambled eggs, pepper, and avocado on the side. The scrambled eggs reminded me of my mom because they were light and fluffy. I also got there with hippie chai to drink with our food. The habit guy had cold brew in it, and it was lovely.

I love the setting, the decor and most of the all, the coffee. The sweet gal behind the counter took my order. It was hard not to get mesmerized by all the goodies they have on display while I was ordering my drink. Cake pops, scones and muffins. They all looked so tempting! As hard as it was not to grab thick slice of the loaf in front of me, I just stuck with my iced sugar free brown sugar cinnamon breve. I chilled at one of the big tables while I was waiting for my drink. It gave me a chance to absorb everything about the coffee shop. I love the big mural of old school Hyde Park. I adore the books along the wall for the kiddos to enjoy. It was great seeing people out and about. People laughing and enjoying their company and drinks. It's honestly one of the dopest shop I have hit up. The second barista was sweet and handed me my drink. I chilled at the big table and enjoyed my first couple sips. The espresso is strong! You can taste it. I did add a packet of sweetner, I like my caffeinated beverages on the sweeter side. It was just what it needed. My breve was absolutely delicious. My drink was creamy, flavorful from the SF brown sugar cinnamon syrup and the sweetner helped with the intensity of the espresso. It was so good. I have been to quite a few coffee joints in town and I like a lot of them. But there's something about this shop that is so different from the rest. It's in such a neat area. The shop has such a charming vibe to it. They pushed out a great product and the staff was super nice. I will most definitely have to take a detour to this joint before heading to work downtown. It would be a great way to start my day.

The bakery itself is small, but the display case is anything but. It's packed with beautifully crafted pastries, each one more tempting than the last. Honestly, everything looked worth trying. We settled on the Rose Croissant and the Lox Croissant Sandwich, and both were excellent. The rose croissant was a standout with the rose flavor delicate yet present in every bite, which is rare for floral pastries. It never became overpowering or faded into the background or tasted artificial. The true star of the meal, however, was the lox croissant sandwich. It was absolutely stellar and one of the best savory pastries we've had in a long time. The coffee was just okay, but that was fine because the pastries completely stole the show. The staff worked quickly despite the steady stream of customers. There is a bit of seating both indoors and outdoors, although most people seemed to be taking their orders to go ,perhaps because of the weather. If you're visiting, come for the pastries. They're absolutely worth the wait.
