    Produce and bulk
    Danielle O.

Inside out: this place is easy to get in and out of with ample parking. The building is cute on the outside though older, inside is modern, beautiful, well organized, clean, and has a space for about anything and more you could think of. It's not just a grocery place. They have an adorable little café with delicious goods made from their own produce. They have a vast selection of spices and soaps and reusable sustainable goods. If you have a glass jars and don't know what to do with them this place will up cycle them and you can bring them to put your goods in. Just remember to weigh the jar before you add what you are buying so they can calculate at the register. They have a classroom and classes available to learn about sustainable living and other things. Service: there is not a single bad thing I can say about the service. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to help. The food: They have an amazing selection of things to eat and delicious homemade soda. They have free Wi-Fi and ample seating. I would love to come down here and get a glass of soda read a book browse the Internet or work on any of the more stressful things in life in a relaxed environment. I went with a friend for a meet up and it was a lovely place to have a conversation with great music and relaxing atmosphere. This place is small local and unique I highly recommend it to anyone.

    Bee Pollen

Wanted to love this place, but just didn't meet expectations. I knew it would be pricy but holy smokes was it. I came in here seeking shampoo, conditioner and body wash as I recently got reusable shower containers and want to limit plastic bottle waste, thought I'd buy in bulk here. I decided to fill my shampoo 3/4 full and conditioner 1/2 full as I wanted to test it out for a few weeks and it was $27....the deli sandwiches start at like $12. I would come back here for specific things like bee pollen , but otherwise I just didn't find much I would buy at this time. Will try again.

Roots Zero Waste Market in Garden city is the first and only full service organic zero waste grocery store and Café in the US. This neighborhood store offers "healthy bulk foods, fruits and vegetables, refillable household cleaning and personal care products, as well as a full-service deli that includes freshly prepared meals." Roots is a beautifully designed store with lots of great products but my favorite thing about this business is it's wonderful produce. Produce is delivered fresh from the farm to their market three times a week to ensure freshness. Roots utilizes 180 regional organic growers and 20 local farms. Inside Roots is a business called Vervain, which is a plant based apothecary. Location: 3308 W. Chinden Blvd. Hours: Monday to Saturday: 9 AM to 7 PM Sunday: 9 AM to 5 PM Highly Recommended!!!

Personal care section - very cool refillable shampoo and conditioner as well as soaps and different clays for face

My husband is pretty classic and just got a cheese pizza. He wanted to do half and half but it wasn't an option. One of the cons of ordering off a kiosk instead of a person. The pizza was handed to us right from the oven. Piping hot! That baby was loaded with cheese. Not one dry spot on the pizza! It did cool a bit by the time we got home but the cheese pull was still there! For a grocery store pizza, it's actually pretty good! This pizza was 10 bucks and an extra dollar to have them bake it for you. Can't go wrong with an 11 dollar pizza. No delivery fee. No tip needed. You cactus beat that!

They carry most items for both big brands and a Winco brand that's top notch. Plus bin shopping for lots of staples and goodies, grind your own coffee, deli, bakery, sushi, pizza to go, and more. You can feel the discount vibe in places - bag your own groceries- but overall it's a higher class discount market. Preferred items that beat out competitors - sushi, fried chicken, deli cheeses selection, premade pizza to bake at home, and bakery breads and bagels baked in store. I prefer their fresh baked bagels to any speciality bagel store. Items lacking - deli sliced meats not great and lack of cake offerings, plus the packaged bakery baked sweets not that great. Lower selection of some item variety but not that many items I cannot find. Love the produce area, good quality and prices. Paper towels are my fav, price is so low! Staples are cheaper here (canned, jars, dry items like pasta, oatmeal, peanut butter, etc.) than anywhere else. Great selection of grab and go meals at excellent prices. Prices have been terrible on eggs here lately. Watch signs for a price for 1 box of eggs but in small print they charge much more for the 2nd or more box of eggs the same size. The prices vary so watch labels and ads for deals.

Just walked out the door with 10 avocados for $25 instead of $12.90? Nowhere on the sign does it say that there is a limit! But apparently in the app it does? So then you have to go stand in another line to get the transaction figured out at customer service? I shouldn't need to check the sign, the app and the sales paper with each and every item to figure out what something actually costs, in my humble opinion! This isn't the first time... more often than not I get the check out and it is something different than what was expected. The employee always says, oh did you try this or that? Too much work! So I am done with the slick deceptive practices at this store. I'm sure that I won't be missed. lol

I think the time before that was to grab a sandwich from the deli for my husband. Conveniently, my hubby wanted a snack so I stopped in to see what I could grab for him. I saw a gentleman pull some fresh pepperoni pizza out of the brick oven. That was my sign to grab my husband a couple slices, he loves pizza. The gentleman helped a couple guests ahead of me. He greeted me but realized he was out of gloves. So, he went to the back to grab some and the gal who was starting the dough stepped in to help me. She asked if i wanted some pizza and of course I said yes. Looking at the pizza, there was no real rhyme or reason to how they sliced it. All the slices were different in size. Not one is the same. One huge slice, many smaller slices and some slivers. I asked her if 2 smaller slices count as 1. She said yes. I wanted a total of 2 big slices. I was in the middle of asking her and was cut off cause I didn't answer her if I wanted pepperoni or Hawaiian. I was literally trying to talk her that I wanted a total of 4 slices to make 2 big slices and was shut down. I took my 2 small slices and went on my merry way. I honestly didn't even want to take the slices I had. The whole interaction with her was tasteless. Why would I want to bring this to my husband? I have never worked in a Deli type job but I have worked in the food industry. Today's interaction with the gal was such a turn off. Maybe she should stick with making the pizzas instead of helping customers. What a complete waste of time coming in and grabbing 2 uneven slices of pizza. I haven't been in for a long time before this and I don't see myself coming back anytime soon. I'd rather buy a full pizza and have my husband toss the other half of the uneaten pizza than be treated like how I did today.
