My dad has dementia and would have been extremely co-operative with her if I could have stayed in the room during the ULTRASOUND. (no reason not to let me stay, not an surgical procedure, it an ultrasound--plenty of space in room for more than one person to accompany patient) About 10 minutes after I was kicked out of room I hear her loudly CHASTISING my 85 year old father with dementia for resting his hand on her arm. His hand was cold and he was trying to warm it up. There was a waiting room full of people who could here, and very unprofessional behavior on her part. When I heard this going on I just entered the room and stayed, she did not remove me but this unprofessional behaviour was horrible.```````Due to the shortage of specialists in the city this will not have a negative effect on the bottom line for this physician. I have seen multiple massage therapists and a variety of treatments that I have asked for. My preference is deep tissue massage and cupping, but also some great relaxation massages as well. One of the main reasons that I return to Healthy Roots is that the people are always friendly and ready to talk. They present themselves in a professional manner, but most of all the synergies that they offer between practices is wonderful. Acupuncture, massage and now chiropractic care. They have it all! P.S. HOWEVER; I unfortunately suffered from a dental emergency and needed 3 root canals or extractions. I was in extreme pain, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, and had never been to another Dentist. I had an appointment booked and they gave me some freezing to help with the pain. Unfortunately since I hadn't slept in weeks I slept through the appointment (with all the other pain medication i took i was out cold). They refuse to accept me as a client now. - bc I missed one appointment (kind of understandable though and would have paid their cancelation fee or missed appointment charge or whatever it was they want to charge) but of coarse now they have tossed aside one of Dr. HITZOU'S favorite patients. I'm extremely disappointed, and was taking my daughter to the office also, but now I'll be going elsewhere. I found this very disrespectful - especially for a very loyal and long term patient of Dr. HITZOU. I don't feel like anyone in the office cared at all about my health, or about my teeth. I also don't feel like I was treated professionally. I dont think that they even bothered to try and accommodate me. I think they could have been a little more empathetic and a lot more understanding. I think with all the years I had been coming to that office - they certainly didn't appreciate me as a client the way Dr. Hitzou always did. Im never one to look for pity, and I'm not one to make excuses. But this has made me realize just how greedy, and selfish some people really are.
