Chase cashed the check for $2300 and then took the money out of my account and closed down my entire personal checking account as if I wrote a fraudulent check. Great Expressions has called Chase several times to verify the check however they are saying they still cannot verify the check. Great Expressions is a large corporation and has not had one problem with anyone cashing their checks. I worked hard to pay for my braces and they issued me a refund of the money I paid them so I could go to a different orthodontist. Now I have had braces stuck on my teeth rotting out because I cannot pay to go to a different orthodontist now. Chase will not even return the money back to Great Expressions. We went to Truist Bank, only 0.3 miles away, where their branch manager, Stacy, issued two cashier's checks--certified, verified funds. She said "fraud prevention." I explained that cashier's checks are guaranteed money--the very reason they exist. She said $12K would clear the next day and $7K of the $35K the following day.
