Corporate administration of RTUI, I opened up a bussiness in late July and was contacted by a telemarketer who presented me with an advertising opportunity. I told her I wasn't interested and that since my bussiness was new I couldnt afford to take on such an expense. She then convinced me that her employees, Glen Ratcliffe was in the area and just wanted to speak to me. He came to my bussiness around 8/4/17 and presented me with the opportunity to advertise on the back of grocery store receipts. He told me that it's great for bussiness and that it would help get my name out I'm the community. I told him that I didn't have the money and that my credit cards were maxed out and that I might be able to pay some of my credit card debt by Tuesday and to contact me then. He said that in order to save the deal which was $217/month then I would need to sign a piece of paper to hold it. He asked for my credit card number as well and assured me it was just to hold the deal and he wouldn't run anything without my permission. He also told me to email him some photos of my work so he could make a mock advertisement to show me what it would look like. I told him that I didn't have before and afters that I felt we're worthy of putting on a flyer yet so he told me just to send him some old work, so I did. I never got a call from him come Tuesday and I still didn't have the money. I decided it was in my best interest NOT to go forth with advertising with them. So when I got a call from someone from corporate asking if I wanted to push my add through I told them "no". I then come to realize they deducted $272 out of my bussiness credit card. I tired on numerous occasions to contact cooperate directly left messages and even had my roomate call from her phone. No one ever got back to me so I filed a claim dispute with Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo didn't get in touch with them until the very last minute when the case was about to be won because of they're failure to get in touch with Wells Fargo. They said they had my signature and so for that reason (even though verbally it was a very different agreement) they would not be able to reinburse me and that I had to take up these matters with the company myself. The adverstimemt is no longer on they're website as of today 1/17/18 and now they are making threats to sue me for the entire amount of the year that was in the contract which adds up to over $3,000. I went online and noticed they don't have the advertisement up anymore but not only that they posted it on other coupon sites saying my services are 50-70% off which is something I did not agree to. read more

Please do not get involved with them specifically Roy Hernandez, who is unprofessional and conniving. Fast forward 6 months, I've redeemed in 6 months the amount of redemptions I'd thought I would have in a single month. As far as roi goes, its absolutely ridiculous. I will end up losing dearly. A terrible company to work with. I chose to put my ad on back of grocery receipts. I would ask new customers, how they hear about us and nothing about seeing us on grocery receipts. My return on investment was zero. I'm on 4 months now. What a waste of money!!! I called my sales person to look for another method or cancel my contract and he forwarded me to his corporate office. They do nothing to assist you. They shove the contract down your throat saying "you signed a contract" and can't get out. I should have done my research on this company before I signed up. Sales person talks the talk and makes it sound good but really they're after your money. They are probably paid on commission so they say anything and give you false hopes. BEWARE!!! This company puts you under contract and OWNS you. We finally gave up checking back of receipts because it didn't matter if they were printing or not. Nothing mattered even the contract terms unless you want to pay the legal fees to fight it. The company does not stand behind it's word and lie about EVERYTHING. Half of the contract nothing was being printed. Either way even when it was printed it produced zero results. Indoor Media/ RTUI did not offer to make it right. In fact, we never heard from them to change an ad (which should have been done quarterly) until the end of contract when they want to get on your positive side to resign your life away. BUSINESSES BEWARE! RUTI/Indoor Media is a scam. I started the program June, 2021. Through my current research I discovered the team works on commission so that explains why Charles & his croney came into my small business on many occasions within the first month of me opening with the "dog and pony show" that putting my small business on the back of the receipt would yield me 90% customer return. The only return I see are an over abundance of register tape boxes shipped to me. I have been paying $292.00 per month for a service that has brought in 11 customers and 8 heavy boxes of register tape with my ads on the back of them. My first red flag was: Per Kelly Via an email, I wasn't able to get on the printed receipt for Albertsons until August, 2021 because RUTI didn't have enough vendors on the back of the receipt to go to print. I requested a refund or to discontinue the services. Kelly said I COULD NOT DISCONTINUE because of the contract I signed. My first payment was June, 2021 and the most recent payment was March, 2022. Making this payment has become a hardship on my small business. Back in December, 2021, I reached out to the reps I signed up with to discontinue the services and was told they COULD NOT because I signed a contract! I would have been better off doing every door direct mail with USPS as to using indoor media/RUTI. My experience with you all have been horrible and this company is predatory advertisement with small businesses. NEVER would I recommend this company and small business are still suffering from the pandemic and the nerve of RUTI/Indoor Media to charge a high fee for a 0-2% return. Supermarket advertising is a great medium for local businesses that people frequent (i.e. food, hair, car wash, dry cleaner, etc..). We found it as effective as direct mail and less expensive. A couple of things can really help this type of advertising: a. The more frequently a product or service is used, the more coupons will come in. 1. Don't forget the exposure in the community you get - even if you don't get 50 coupons per day (check your sales numbers). b. The Offer - have a great coupon! People are savvy and looking for deals. c. The Business should be within 1.5 miles of the supermarket to be most effective. read more

I signed up in last October and the sales person was told me at-least I will get 5 coupons a day as they put the ad on big stores on back of their receipts but I am not getting at-least 5 per month. I told them to put a ad in the grocery store so that customers will know that there is a ad on back of the receipt but they did not do that and I see most of the receipts people leave at the counter / throw it out side of the store. Even though we are giving good offers, I am not getting any coupons to my store. REAL NUMBERS 2020-2021 (Our two store locations, advertised receipts at 4 RTUI stores) Oct 2020 - 5 coupons received Nov 2020 - 6 coupons received Dec 2020 - 6 coupons received Jan 2021 - 3 coupons received Feb 2021 - 4 coupons received Mar 2021 - 3 coupons received Sales people made a lot of false claims about how successful they were at helping small companies like ours. Sales people give a graph saying the "majority" of coupons will be received toward the end of the 12 month contract. Really? Why? To justify the small amount of coupons received at the beginning of this contract? The above true results are pathetic, to say the least. We pay RTUI over $700 per month for an average of 4.5 sales. RTUI sales persons says we should be at 15 to 20. Not even close! It was a waste of money for us and I am embarrassed in front of my peers. To make matters worse, since we were in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, we tried to get them to cancel the contract and they wouldn't even budge. This company's business is POS. Heed our warning - If you want to lose your money with no ROI in sight, this is the place to be. If I could give 0 stars I would! I wish I would have read the reviews of this company before we decided to commit to an entire year! I voiced my concerns with our ad on two separate occasions that we did not have one person come in to use our RTUI coupon. We are a fitness studio, and have tried "Two weeks free", "three weeks for $35", and have had exactly 0.00 ROI, not even a call stating they found out about us via the receipts. When I asked for help and voiced my concern, I was told that we should offer three weeks for free!!! Really, devalue my company even more? No offer to change the ad copy, no offer to make it right. We were told they would do a great job with the ad, and that did not happen. I stopped my payments, and I was threatened with a collection agency. I voiced my concerns once again, and heard no word back. No apology, no "let us fix this" NOTHING. They do not care about your success like the salesman leads you to believe. Once you sign that piece of paper you are on your own! DON't DO IT. If this review helps one person save their money then I am happy. In my business, if someone complains, and is not satisfied with my services....I do EVERYTHING in my power to make it right. I don't take defense, and ignore them. I NEVER heard back from them. Back in April, I reached out to the account manager to put the campaign on hold because of the pandemic, and governor mandate to close. We were closed a total of 12 weeks on and off. Reached out to him multiple times, and they weren't willing to put it on hold. With small businesses struggling to survive, an expensive marketing deal shoved down our throats because a 6 months contract was signed pre-pandemic is downright ugly and a recipe for losing any future business forever. We called the guy to cancel due to covid, he said no problem, 2 months later we are getting charged again so we change our card. Now somelady calls a few times a day to hound us. RTUI Complaint: Our small business (Water Tree - Sacred Leaf Zero Portland) in Portland, Tx. entered in a year contract with RTUI (Registered Tape Unlimited INC.) under salesperson, Annette Alonzo. She spent an hour with us selling us on this great idea on marketing our business on coupons on the back of HEB (large Grocer chain in Texas) receipts. She sold us on the amount of increased business traffic we can expect, etc., etc., etc., The Portland HEB is literally 300 yards from or business. The contract price is $4824 or $402 a month. We have currently paid 5 months, $2010. We have received 6 coupons total in 5 months in our store totaling $85 in sales. The Texas Better Business Bureau website posted several negative reviews on RTUI is even more concrete evidence RTUI has a serious issue scamming small businesses they target. We have written several emails to Annette Alonzo after 3 months in this contract expressing our dissatisfaction. Not to mention the COV-19 pandemic that has devastated small businesses all over the state and country. The only response from Annette is a contract is a contract. Absolutely has no compassion or any consideration and takes no responsibility for our hardship she sold us on. We began to do our homework on RTUI and got some eye-opening results. We downloaded 30 pages of negative 1-star reviews all over the USA. These reviews express the same compliant we have. The few 5-star reviews sure look suspicious as if they were planted to counter the negative ones. We pay RTUI monthly using our Chase CC. We recently tried to block the payment, but Chase cannot block it without cancelling the CC. RTUI has you locked in which discourages their clients even more. We are seriously considering doing a class action lawsuit against RTUI under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. We have contacted several victims around the country that are more than willing to participate in a class action suit. The Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) protects Texans against false, deceptive and misleading business practices. The Act, enacted in 1973, defends consumers against false or misleading business practices that would otherwise harm or defraud them. read more

Biggest bunch of liars, stay far away! When we signed up, the salesman praised our location and said that car washes were some of their biggest successes. We had tapes at 2 stores in great areas but saw a total of 3 coupons redeemed the entire time we were in business. We were then told by the salesman that our location was the problem despite being right on a busy freeway. The register tapes just don't do what they promise. I received an email from the RTUI sales supervisor yesterday, and it was unprofessional, to say the least. 1. The sales supervisor accused me of lying about my rate of return. After reading reviews from other business owners, this is at least somewhat common. Therefore, there was no basis for accusing me of lying, unless he was trying to play off of my emotions. 2. The sales supervisor then claimed that I had never reached out to them, when I had attempted to call and left messages for them only two days before. 3. According to the email response from RTUI, they admitted that they do owe me at least one month of refund. The sales supervisor stated that an ad must run for 84 out of 90 days. Their service was greatly interrupted for the of the first month. Fully half of that first month in total hod NO coupons running. My ads ran for around 70 days in that first 90 day period. 4. The sales supervisor said that it was "baffling" as to why I expected free register tape. I expected free register tape, because he offered and promised it when he and his salesman visited my store. There's nothing "baffling" about a customer wanting a company to live up to their promise. After the scathing response from RTUI, I directed them to not contact me again personally. The immediate response was to have one of his salesmen send me another email. The contents of that email are less important than the fact that it was sent after I demanded that they not personally contact me again. The total conduct of the sales team is poor at best, and possibly unethical. I make the "unethical" suggestion, because when they first visited, they brought in a sample tape. We "cold called" those businesses to ask about their rate of return. Every business we called all reported that around 20 coupons daily (give or take a few, based on the actual day). It's strange that everyone we called did so well, but with every shop in my mall who ran ads, our rates of return were essentially ZERO. These two groups couldn't be farther apart in performance. I know that I can trust my neighbors and friends to be honest with me, because shops in malls succeed or fail together. That's why there's a marketing principle called "the mall effect". I trust my friends and neighbors more than a random stranger on the phone. That leads me to ponder the possibility that those "cold calls" were actually warm and possibly staged. read more

Michael followed up with my after my previous review to let me know that I could cancel my contract at any time. I had no idea that I could cancel prior to the 3 year contract. I would highly discourage signing a contract with RTUI. The sales person comes off like it is going to be a 'team effort' and provides all kinds of references from businesses stating they would continue to renew contracts due to the redemption. However, once you sign the contract things change drastically. Communication is poor across the board and my requests for basic assistance / advice in developing a 'successful' coupon were more or less disregarded. From a company who is an 'expert' in this area, this was quite insulting. The ad does look nice and I can give the thumbs up to the design team there - but I'd compare that to a new Camaro that someone stuck a Corolla engine into - sure, it's pretty to look at, but it just doesn't get the job done. We are located two miles from the store who is running the ad, with an estimated 60,000 impressions per month. I can count the number of coupons that have been redeemed one hand, over the course of 9 months. Could it be the market we are in? Sure. Could it be that our location isn't convenient / close enough to the store? I suppose. Does it feel good to be locked into a contract for a service without any support / suggestions on how to get the most from it? Not at all. I ran my ad for 1 year, $4500 dollars and received not one call. Each time I'd go to the store they were running in I'd buy something to see if I'm on the receipt and they were blank. I called when I noticed it a few times within the year and each time they said " oh they must have just ran out and they are due for a new drop soon". I'd ask them what would be best on designing my add based on their experience and I did what they recommended and still no calls. I have a good internet presence and 5 stars on Yelp so it leads my to believe that nobody looks at these or they simply didn't run as consistent as they state when the salesman pushed me into it. I do not recommend it. They would rather call me to rejoin then help fix the issues of me going to the store and getting a blank receipt. Used them for a couple years and had good response to my coupon ads. This type of advertising does not work for all business types with regard to direct response coupons but it helped my pet store business. In the grand scheme of things, it can still help with brand recognition and top of mind awareness. Advertising of any kind can never promise a specific return. read more
