Definitely a busy practice-they come up from Dothan location for Troy appts. Accept BC/BS, and they use a pharmacy from Texas if you don't have a pharmacy you use/want. The pharmacy will call you later and ask for your insurance for the RX, if you get an RX. You don't have to use their Texas-connection pharmacy, if prefer your own choice.

They did a COVID test and nothing else. He was told he had a viral sinus infection and they gave him a prescription for cough medicine and an over the counter cold medicine for people with high blood pressure which he does not have. He was told to give it a couple days. He said, "Mom they didn't even listen to me and they just brushed off whatever I told them". He only got worse so he went to his pediatrician and she was appalled at his experience as was I. She did a COVID and flu test as well as a strep test. He had strep and was extremely contagious. Now he has the medicine he needs. My son told me they (his pediatrician) listened to him and asked questions and really cared. He said his experience was the complete opposite from AFC. There are other sicknesses out there besides COVID, AFC!

No blood test, no x-ray, instead they give me an EKG and tell me, "it's not a heart attack". I never thought it was. Told me it was a respiratory infection and gave me antibiotics. Not feeling any better a few days later so I get into my PCM who does an x-ray and takes blood tests to find out I have mono. The staff with nice but totally wrong about their diagnosis and every other healthcare professional I talked to was surprised by me not getting an X-ray when I tell them my symptoms. I went in to see Dr. Eades. I had two appointments here. The first was a consultation to discuss…read morewhat needed done, and the second was for the procedure itself. For my first appointment, I went in and spoke with them and they looked at my tooth and some images and we agreed on a root canal with local anesthetic. When I checked out with the front desk after my consult, they said they weren't sure if my insurance would cover the cost and they would let me know. They said that out of pocket, it would cost around $700ish. Later that afternoon, I received a call telling me that my insurance went through. So, for my second appointment, I checked in at the front desk and was asked to pay for my procedure in advance - I was asked to pay around $150, and I assumed that was the remaining cost after my insurance. Weird that I was asked to pay BEFORE the procedure, but whatever. During the procedure, I was injected with quite a bit of anesthetic under my top lip. Then, without speaking to me or asking if I was fully numb, the dentist came in and began drilling on my tooth. After I screamed from the pain, he injected MORE anesthetic in my lip. He continued drilling and I screamed again because I could still feel the drill. At that point I asked if he could numb the backside of my tooth/roof of my mouth. He obliged and without waiting, continued drilling. I STILL felt it. He then decided to inject anesthetic directly into the nerve itself which was excruciatingly painful, but I was willing if it meant I wasn't going to keep feeling him drilling into my tooth. He immediately continued drilling after injecting the nerve, and he was able to work for maybe a minute before he reached a spot where I could feel again. At this point, he was scraping the pulp/nerve out and I could feel EVERY part of the procedure. At no point did the dentist ask if I wanted to continue, or make the decision to halt the procedure because of how severe the pain was. I think my favorite part was when the dentist turned on a torch and heated his metal instrument and stuck it inside the socket, and not only did I get to smell my own flesh burn, but I got to FEEL it too. So, I left what was easily the most traumatic dentist appointment I've ever had. I'm now one month post-op and am absolutely petrified of seeing another dentist and I have lasting nerve damage in my lip from the sheer volume of anesthetic they injected into the same spot (with no increased effect). I can't smile or kiss my boyfriend now without pain and being reminded of this horrific experience. Oh, and I was mailed a bill for $300+ when nobody communicated with me at ALL regarding any costs aside from my first estimate when I was quoted an out-of-pocket cost of ~$700, and my second visit after I was told my insurance would be accepted and I was asked to pay ~$150. Suffice to say, I don't feel responsible for this bill. Not after that experience and definitely not after the lack of communication and clarity around the costs associated with the procedure. ​
