We booked e-bikes online ahead of time, and pickup was seamless. The staff were friendly and gracious, and got us set up with bikes, a charger, helmets, locks, and a map. From there we rode to Lewes on a gorgeous route through Cape Henlopen State Park--quiet trails, beautiful scenery, and just enough of a workout to feel earned. I was interested in purchasing a Trek mountain/e-bike they had in stock and on display in the showroom. Price was nearly $3,000 but they never responded to several emails I sent asking a few basic questions. Ended up buying that $3k bike for myself at Trek Bicycle Newark, Delaware. And a few weeks later bought another $3k bike for my wife at Trek Bicycle Newark. These guys need to pay attention to the business side of their business rather than how they currently operate. Apparently hiding in the back room adjusting spokes or whatever, and refusing to take $6,000 I wanted to give them. read more

We rented 3 hybrid bikes over the July 4th weekend. Online booking was smooth as butter. Payments, waivers and paperwork were all done online. Pickup took 3 minutes and we were out the door riding. The bikes were modern and in great condition (we rode them over 50 miles that weekend). Prices were cheap for the quality. Staff was very friendly. This bike shop is about 3-blocks from our beach condo; since we only ride our beach bikes about 6-10 times a year, it's saved our bacon a few times when we forget our tire pump. Shop was well passed closing time, but the lights were on, door was open and a kind gentleman by the name of Mike was inside and ever so helpful and getting me a bike at night, after closing, so we could do our morning bike ride to breakie! I have been renting bikes from Bike To Go for years while visiting the beach. As far as rental bikes go, theirs are always in great shape. I believe this is because at the end of every summer season, they sell off the rentals and start the next season with brand new bikes. They offer baskets and helmets at an extra price. While there are other bike rents places in Rehoboth, I keep coming back to Bike To Go. Their staff is friendly and usually they employ kids for the summer. Bike to Go has saved my biking day twice so far. Last year I got a flat tire on the trail and the service team at Bike to Go fixed it for me the same day in a short time. Today they fixed my bike again when my wheel was rubbing on the brake making riding almost impossible. Now considering that both repair jobs were on my own bikes and not on their rentals, I am very impressed. I have also rented tandem bikes from them when I need to ride with my grandson. Recommended by the folks by my hotel, I walked down the block to Bike To Go, a shop that's very conveniently located at Rehoboth Avenue and 2nd Street. The staff here is quite friendly and helpful, with the lady that I worked with this past visit taking care of my paperwork, fitting me for a comfort bike, advising me on which trails I should take for a good day trip, and getting me on my way in just about 10 minutes. The bike rental rates are reasonable at $25/half-day or $30/full day - spring for the extra $5 so you don't have to rush. The bike comes with a Kryptonite key-lock cable for safe keeping when you stop for coffee or ice cream (you deserve it after miles of biking) and a bike bag to hold a few things during your ride. The bike I rented rode quite smoothly and shifted well, making for a nice ride around the area. Check-in was easy as well - in and out in just a couple minutes. So surprised this pleasant little business has NO reviews. My wife and I rented bikes here for a two hour spin around Rehoboth. The two very nice ladies working there sized us up accurately and wheeled out two comfortable coaster-brake (That's all you need for getting around town.) cruisers. They also pulled out a map and showed us nice places to ride and advised us to get off the Boardwalk by 10 a.m. (It's the law for bike riders.). This shop usually has very good customer service. The owners and mechanic have a beach vibe, which carries over to the seasonal staff. It's a good place. They are not trying to rip you off, and will give you good information for local rides. I ride a very unusual bike, and they are the only shop in town that is willing to do work on my mike during the busy season, even though they have a small repair area. She said the work would be completed that day which it was. I returned later that afternoon. I was so impressed with the owner. My family and I rented bikes and went into the bike trail . The bikes were in excellent condition and were equipt with everything we needed We learned about the trails with the help and patience of John at the bike shop. He was patient with our many questions and took time to show us the map of the trails and how to get started. It was a hot day so the many water bottles we took came in handy. We also thankfully brought bug spray as it did get buggy along the way. We happened upon an old military base and learned about their role in WWII from the reps at the DE Parks Dept. The snotty girl at the counter looked at me like I had two heads when I told her that we wanted to rent two bikes for the week. (Or maybe it was just her Bitchy Resting Face [http://youtu.be/3v98CPXNiSk]). Anyway, she seemed mightily put out by our request. I could almost hear her eyes squeaking as she rolled them around in her head. She informed us (in a tone of voice implying that we should already know this, for Pete's sake) that they were all out of cruisers and had only geared bikes left -- to the tune of $75 for the week! We asked if there were any other bike rental places nearby. She claimed not to know of any (really?). She could not possibly have seemed less interested in helping us. So after driving around for maybe 30 seconds, we found Bob's Bike Rentals, where we had an awesome experience for half the price. That is the place I recommend! It's at 30 Maryland Avenue.
