My son was literally hospitalized due to the actions of another child on his teen tour with this group. We flew in to pick him up to discover that the care he received while away was awful, would have left him with a permanent injury if we had not sought our own care. The child who intentionally hurt him was the only one interviewed and was allowed to remain on the tour. There was also an active shooter alert during their travels which was never conveyed to the parents. Avoid at all costs. We switched to West Coast Connection, night and day experiences. Top notch, highly trained leaders, tons of communication and the perfect amount of supervision. read more

Rein Teen Tours is a mess. If you care about your child's safely (and I mean this both in terms of emotional or physical), I would strongly suggest not sending your child on any Rein program. A few year I ago I was with Rein and had a miserable time. Some of the camp sites we stayed in were gross. So gross that I opted to pee on the highway so that I didn't have to use nauseating bathroom provided by the campgrounds. Then there was the cook (mind you isn't a real cook. he was a failed substitute teacher who somehow managed to get a job with Rein) who didn't know that mayonnaise had to be refrigerated. GROSS. The icing on the cake was when this one camper who was so desperate for attention started to throw spit balls at the head of the staff. This staff member walked over to the boy, reached down and gave him the most intense wedgie I have ever seen. Literally, this adult ripped the underwear off of this kid. This boy laughed and laughed. Partly because he was thankful that someone recognized him enough to interact with him. Partly because he was slightly embarrassed. But mostly because the staff member had taken advantage of the fact that this kid didn't understand that attention is not necessarily good attention. I would have been humiliated had this happened to me. Not only did it look remarkably uncomfortable but being the joke among other campers because you have been disrespected by a figure of authority if far from funny. It is humiliating. My list of gripes goes on and on. I think it is possible for there to be good staff members affiliated with Rein. Regardless, from my experience I see that the office has no way of monitoring how well the staff is following instructions. It's an honor code which many 20-somethings abuse at the sake of the campers. Rein gets two thumbs down. read more

Rein Teen Tours is by far the MOST AWESOME TEEN TOUR COMPANY around!! Hands down! My son had a fantastic time and months later, continues to retell stories and adventures of this past summer. The tour leaders were fantastic, full of energy and fun. And the friendships he made will last a lifetime. My son was on the Grand Adventure Tour- I can not recommend this tour enough. The half camping and half hotel is the perfect balance. In fact my son (more of a hotel pool kind of guy) said the camping was as much fun (if not more) than the hotel stays. There seems to have been an amazing sense of camaraderie amongst all of the kids. According to my son, no one felt left out or excluded, he just said it was AWESOME! I'm only sorry it took me this long to write this review. But it's something I felt strongly about and wanted to share. This coming summer the only decision we have to make is whether my son will participate in a Rein Community Service program or travel to Europe with Rein Europe. Either way we are confident it will be another fantastic, once in a lifetime experience with Rein Teen Tours. I honestly can not recommend Rein enough!! read more

Kids at camp are supposed to be enjoying sightseeing and enlightening new activities with a helpful and mature staff. This camp is well short of the expectations. Many activities consisted of bowling and arcade games that any person could do at home. The campers visited Salk Lake City, didn't even see the salt lake (or anything around the city), and spent most of the time pitching tents in a fenced in trailer park. Dining out often consisted of fast food places like "In-N-Out Burger" and McDonald's. The campers were misbehaved and cliquey. Boys and girls were sneaking into each others rooms at night and the counselors did little to control their behavior. The staff members were immature for the most part. One of the campers needed hospitalization from a leg injury and the counselors took syringes from the hospital, filled them with water, and shot campers in the face with water to prevent them from sleeping on the night of departure because they didn't want to have to wake them up for the plane ride. The facilities were clean and decent and there were some enjoyable hikes and trips, but that did not outweigh the negative, nor was it worth the outrageous $5,600 we paid to go. read more

Rein teen tour is horrible, my son was sent home for smoking marijuana. Lab (urine and blood) tests proved no marijuana in his system, rein refunded our money completely, with no apology, the owner was incredibly rude. Find a better, more professional teen tour read more

My son was lucky enough to go on grand adventure last summer. After 5 previous years of sleep away camp before this, hands down this was the best summer of his life. Every day was a well run, exciting adventure from start to finish. He loved the staff and kids has remained in touch with some after. From a parent perspective rein is extremely well run and the kids are well supervised. The staff they hire is top notch and are very involved with the kids and the activities. The office is a pleasure to deal with from the first phone call to any questions I needed answered throughout the summer. Next summer my son is going on Hawaii/Alaska and he can't wait!!! Thank you to rein for giving him exciting memories that will last a lifetime!!! read more
