Cannot say enough about Rein Teen Tours. My daughter is on…read morethe 14 day Costa Rica Community Service program....Everything is AMAZING...staff, activities, food, transportation...so well organized and well planned. We highly recommend Rein teen Tours

Rein Teen Tours is a mess. If you care about your child's safely (and I mean this both in terms of…read moreemotional or physical), I would strongly suggest not sending your child on any Rein program. A few year I ago I was with Rein and had a miserable time. Some of the camp sites we stayed in were gross. So gross that I opted to pee on the highway so that I didn't have to use nauseating bathroom provided by the campgrounds. Then there was the cook (mind you isn't a real cook. he was a failed substitute teacher who somehow managed to get a job with Rein) who didn't know that mayonnaise had to be refrigerated. GROSS. The icing on the cake was when this one camper who was so desperate for attention started to throw spit balls at the head of the staff. This staff member walked over to the boy, reached down and gave him the most intense wedgie I have ever seen. Literally, this adult ripped the underwear off of this kid. This boy laughed and laughed. Partly because he was thankful that someone recognized him enough to interact with him. Partly because he was slightly embarrassed. But mostly because the staff member had taken advantage of the fact that this kid didn't understand that attention is not necessarily good attention. I would have been humiliated had this happened to me. Not only did it look remarkably uncomfortable but being the joke among other campers because you have been disrespected by a figure of authority if far from funny. It is humiliating. My list of gripes goes on and on. I think it is possible for there to be good staff members affiliated with Rein. Regardless, from my experience I see that the office has no way of monitoring how well the staff is following instructions. It's an honor code which many 20-somethings abuse at the sake of the campers. Rein gets two thumbs down.

From the second I inquired about the cruise, I was so well advised of every step of the process. What was better, it seems all of the staff knew exactly who I was. Maureen and Danielle were my main contacts, but Adam, Eileen, and Leo were also great. I always like to put a face to the names of the people I deal with, and this was no exception. When I made payments, I opted to go there but I had my kids. Not only did they not have a problem with my kids, they played with them and showed pictures of their grandkids! It was great to see such a close knit, family atmosphere. Anyone who has dealt with Disney for the first time can understand the process is a bit overwhelming. I asked for quite a bit of advice going in, and was never turned away or made to feel like a nuisance. When I finally got to the pier and was ready to board, I found I pretty much already knew what I was doing, and the excursions onboard were a breeze. I can't thank everyone at Cruise Concepts enough for helping make such a memorable vacation for my family. I will definitely use them again, and always give their recommendation when I hear people are planning a vacation.

Did the North Continental Tour, First they boast about offering 4 & 5 star Hotels, but the actual…read morerooms are far from that, but they were clean. For instance, one hotel gave us a room that looked like it was a utility room, a zig zag shaped room in a far corner of the building or an adjoining building converted into a hotel room, took us 15 minutes to find & reach it! Also had 3 large air intake vents over the bed. Then Perillo dropped the ball when I called their number, they should have gotten us out of that room at any cost immediately, but we had to wait for the next day or we had to pay $100 extra! Many had no grab bars or safety features in the bathrooms & showers & no anti slip maps or appliques, this should be a must for a tour company that caters to Seniors! Sink wouldn't drain, I had to adjust the pop up so I wouldn't have to wait for someone to come up & fix it late at night! Other things like no way to make tea or loose mirrors! No handrails for staircases & got slammed by faulty elevator doors many times! Hotel porters dealing with undesirable looking people right outside in front of the hotel, may have been innocent but not a good look or good feeling, & in that same hotel a fellow Perillo traveler's ring went missing from her room! Maybe that's why Perillo is now using different Hotels? Recommended places to eat were not that great, found small local places that were better on our own. Felt rushed at times, hard to even take pictures at times. Offer optional tours but then because of minimums couldn't do some of them, not what I wanted to find out about after the fact! Also it seemed like the most important thing of the tour was about gratuities, constant reminders, made many of us feel uncomfortable & not because we're cheap, but because we're grown ups & know how to tip for good service! The local tour guides were excellent(especially Anna) & they commanded a nice tip on their own without any reminders! Also at times(many of us) felt like we were sorta on our own even when the tour director was present, like when crossing streets with traffic & telling us to use google maps! I would hate to think what would happen if someone on this tour didn't have a smartphone, which some Seniors don't, some just have basic cellphones! AIso, I did fill out a feedback page to Perillo & have yet to hear from them!
