So so so so friendly! Did I mention how everyone was so friendly? Haha! I drive by this bakery in my way to work but only just finally made the stop to check it out today. At around 11am, they were already out if most pastries and desserts but still had a lot of sliced breads available. Thanks to the helpful staff, I picked up a 1 lb loaf of the European Rye (the bread that started it all decades ago) and a cinnamon twist for a treat. Now this is what real bread tastes like! Most of their bread is sourdough based and tastes heavenly. I had a slice of the European Rye to test it out before bringing it home to my family. It was so good, I almost don't want any of my family to have it! The cinnamon twist was gone in a flash. A few seconds in a microwave and the heavenly aroma was all over the office. Both items cost me about $7 in all. I think those are great prices for great products! This place is a little off the beaten path (bakery is in the back... you'll see a cool 1965 vintage Chevy by the door) but it is very much worth the trip! read more

It has a dingy and unappealing appearance from the outside. It is dark and uninvited upon stepping inside the bakery. The layout is very unorganized for anyone new and curious about trying items. My first and last visit continued on a more unpleasant path. I bumped into a woman in the parking lot who was confused about entering and said she was looking for a meeting hall. I explained that this was a bakery, and then she told me that this was her address. I said, "Well, maybe they have an event room or something. Let's go inside and see. It is my first time here, too." We walked in together. We didn't see any employees, but we could hear a couple moving around. A sign hanging from the ceiling, just above a small table displaying a cashbox for those coming to buy bread, says customers should not go past the sign. Since this woman was trying to find a meeting that she believed would be taking place at that moment, and there was no help in sight, she stepped just a couple of feet past the sign and asked an employee to give her a little direction. She was not touching any of the bread racks. She was not touching any food. She wasn't even close to any products. While she was doing that, Heidi Renecker came in behind me. I turned and said, "Hi, I have never been here before," while acknowledging me, I stormed over to the woman speaking to the employee. Without seeing what was happening, she ordered the woman to step back and wait to be helped "after helping him," pointing to me. The woman calmly tried to explain what she was doing but kept getting abruptly and aggressively dismissed with orders to move back. It was highly unprofessional. Heidi briefed me about the bread on display, which their bakery made early that morning. No employees were around, and there were no product displays, so I wandered around. After selecting three loaves of bread and a couple of soft pretzels, which an employee who happened to walk by bagged, I paid and left. At this point, the confused woman had left the building after being told the event she was looking for was a different day. I overheard most of that conversation, which wasn't warm or friendly, particularly considering that this woman was probably not in the right mind. I paid, and upon going to my car, I saw the woman in her car. Not seeing me standing beside her window, I tapped on the glass and gave her a pretzel. Even this seemed a bit of a struggle for her to manage. When I got home, I was excited to try the fresh bread I had bought. I tore off a piece of one of the loaves and put it in my mouth. It was so dry that I couldn't even chew it. I went to the sink and hovered over it with my mouth open, and the dry clumps just fell out of my mouth. In other words, it was so dry that none of it stuck in the inside parts of my mouth where moisture was. I tried a piece of one of the other loves and came to the same result. It's disappointing, and I am utterly shocked they have any good reviews. The pretzels were subpar; there was nothing special about them. The third loaf of bread was just basic. It was slightly less dry, enough to at least not throw away, as it was tolerable if I toasted it. If you're looking for a Good bakery and one that treats customers kindly, it appears you'll have to put in some driving and head toward Cleveland. There aren't in the local Northfield, Macedonia, or Twinsburg area. read more

Just had their Oktoberfest dinner. We ordered dinner for two, but they gave us food for four. I paired my schnitzel with M cellars Gewurtztraminer. Schmect gute. My favorite was the rote-kraut and the kase spatzle! It reminded me of my trips to Germany. I'm so full I'm saving the apfel strudel for breakfast. We recently attended the Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest and ate at Reinecker's food truck. Although the physical location is a bakery, their food truck served us the most amazing German food I've ever eaten! We enjoyed tender, juicy pork schnitzel, perogi, cabbage & noodles, sauerkraut, rye bread, and German potato salad... it was amazing! I don't normally eat leftovers, but I sure did the next day. We also bought pastries - cannoli, poppy seed rolls, cheese and fruit danishes, and beehive kuchen (we're still plowing through the desserts, but OMG - delish!) Dawn waited on us and was an absolute doll! The lines for their food and pastries were long the entire night, but it was well worth the wait. While waiting in line, we had a chance to commiserate with many people and families... it's amazing how good food brings people together. Thank you for a great evening! read more

I recently went to this bakery for the first time and was very disappointed in the cleanliness of their facility. It is quite possibly the dirtiest bakery I have ever seen. I used to work in bakeries when I was younger, so I know how clean it should be. From the caked on dirt on the floors to the filthy fans blowing dust on the product. They should think about closing down for a day or a week just to clean! Despite the lack of cleanliness I still purchased bakery products. The nut rolls need more flavor, the torte was good, but the sourdough bread was very tasty. read more

This other review about illegal ingredients in the Reinecker products is insane. Obviously someone who's never even been to China, let alone Germany where this amazing bread originated. You will be hard-pressed to find better quality bread than what the Reinecker's offer. Fresh made, no artificial ingredients, ridiculously low prices for the highest quality food. Celebrating their 60th year in business, so clearly they're doing something right! If you want fresh, visit the bakery and head in the back door where you can buy a loaf hot out of the oven, or you can find it in many area groceries, such as Heinen's or my personal favorite, Krieger's in Cuyahoga Falls. The best day to visit is Thursday where you'll find the most delicious hot pretzels I've ever had in my life! read more

We live about 3 miles from Reinecker's bakery. We moved here in 1960 and a short while later discovered their bread. A wonderful dark European rye as well as their other whole grain breads are the only breads we have in our home. Their flaxseed and sunfowerseed are not to be ignored again. Their Babka and Pashka bread is great to make french toast with a lot of raisins. We also enjoy their rye and occasionally their Vienna when our guests won't eat heavier breads. As far as I know for the last 50 years the quality of their breads subercedes all others in our opinion. Many times when we try to buy their breads at local groceries it's out of stock. I can't recommend them enough. I am not a family member, nor an employee but just a resident in their area. read more

This place is wonderful! We moved here from Saint Louis, and were trying to find a bakery with good German sourdough, and stumbled on this gem when I was getting a birthday cake for my wife. I have been buying baked goods from this bakery for over 20 yrs. Unfortunately I had to move but still order birthday cakes and think the 150+ mile drive is worth it. Their breads, pastries, and cakes are wonderful. when my older daughter graduated from high school I ordered two large sheet cakes, the vanilla cake with the butter cream frosting with the strawberry filling ( she gets one every year for her birthday) and a chocolate cake with mocha filling, I had a lot of left over food but not one piece of cake, everyone fell in love with it. they are aces in my book read more

My parents started buying their European rye bread back in the 1970's so ate I it growing up and loved it ... a very solid and dense seedless sourdough rye bread. I have lived in 8 states across the country since I left in the 80's and have not found anything that compares So every time I get back to the Cleveland area I stop in and buy a couple of large loaves to bring home to Texas to put in the freezer to ration out until the next trip. I don't like poppy seed, but my wife does. She claims that their strudel is the best. It is more poppy seed than dough -- very different from other strudels, giving it an excellent flavor. read more
