Tommies It's a little whole in the wall. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. The staff were attended and professional. It's a traditional Eastern European style but with a variety of well done Pastries- I had a cheese biscuit, a wonderful cherrycream Danish and a breakfast croissant. It's a little expensive, but. you're gonna get what you pay for, the owners are using good quality ingredients in their pastries so it's more expensive than people are used to paying. It's well worth a visit.

This place is a whole in the wall! I have recommended it to all my friends. It has the best raspberry cream danish, which are made fresh daily. The owner Tommy is also so relatable and great host, he always has the best recommendations. Luckily the raspberry cream danish was always fresh and right of the oven so it was really warm. They're great the next day as well. I tried a few other flavors but nothing really stands out for me.

OUTSTANDING - stuffed raspberry & cheese, and apricot & cheese.

OUTSTANDING!!! I had the absolute pleasure of trying the stuffed croissants, one raspberry, one apricot, and they completely blew me away. Fresh out of the oven, they were perfectly warm, light, and impossibly flaky. The fillings were rich in flavor, the raspberry bursting with just the right amount of tangy sweetness, and the apricot offering a smooth, delicate balance that was downright heavenly. Every bite melted in my mouth, and the freshness was unmatched. I would 100% recommend them to someone who wants a glimpse of European cuisine that's authentic, fresh, and absolutely unforgettable. Will be my new treat spot. Great service, we're helped right away. Very hole in the wall vibe, which i love.

Owners have been working together for over 20 years as a husband wife duo baking these yummy danishes and croissants. They are so hardworking and kind. The prices are so reasonable and I'm so happy to support local businesses! Come check them out for cheesy yummy goodness!

    Mold on the strudel.

Purchased strudel to take into work. I opened the box to serve it and noticed something green. It was moldy inside the strudel. Disgusting.

Well-priced fresh Eastern European pastries. $3/ea for large lunch croissants with filling of ham or turkey and cheese. Plenty of fruit filled danishes. Some raspberry chocolate sweets were in the fridge. Not much else to choose from at 10:30 on a Sunday. Some walnut filled strips of baked dough ("walnut strips") for $1.25 each. Biscuits baked with many layers for $0.70 per. I got two cheese bacon biscuits and was disappointed that they triggered my number one pet peeve with baked goods: they were both very dry! Yes they were layered but not in a flaky buttery way. They crumbled all over and when I tried to peel back layers they were all stuck together and would just shatter when pulled on. Sad. The lunch croissant was pretty good. Large very soft croissant which was flaky and inside had turkey, some sort of non Swiss cheese (sorry American and cheddar are basically indistinguishable to me), and really great basil/oregano spices. This was a real win compared to the biscuit bummers and the flavors really permeated the whole croissant cavity well so as not to leave anything plain. Definitely worth the three bucks.

Delicious. It's been a while since I've been but just as good. Prices are very reasonable. I got 9 pastries for $19 bucks. Any fruit and cheese danish is yum, and so is the spinach lunch pastry. I'm not sure about credit card as I paid with cash.

Oh my god. Ive had danishes before but NEVER this good. When you bite into it it is amazing. I am not even kidding. They open at 6. Dont believe google that says 7. (Ill try and fix that when I review this place over there) Here is incorrect per the woman who owns the place with her husband. They always open at 6. Absolutely amazing. There was about 10 flavors of these danishes this morning and WOW were they fresh. Some Corrections 1. Dont go to the website linked. I made a suggestion to get it removed. It hijacks your PC. 2. The hours are wrong. They are open at 6 every morning not 4 3. The price of a danish is $2.50 not 3. 4. I think the coffee is free. The owner suggested we both have a cup.

You can tell by the aroma when you walk in that it's going to be good. Best danish's in Lakewood. Apricot, raspberry, cherry, cream cheese, or poppyseed, you can't go wrong. Why people go to chain places, when there are gems like this is Lakewood is beyond me.

Even the sign is still the same! I loved it! Very nostalgic

Best pastries ever. Both sweet and savory. I wish I could eat them every day . Makes sure to get there early because they sell out.

The breads at Breadsmith are fresh and made daily. I don't come here often but I should. I love walking inside to the delightful smell of fresh breads. I first tried one of their breads, the Rustic Italian bread in January 2019 when I bought it from Nature's Oasis in Lakewood, a little cafe and convenience store (see video and picture below). I finally visited Breadsmith in October 2021 and I've been back a few times in 2024. I've bought their white Country Buttertop Bread ($6.75) which can be bought sliced or un-sliced. I've also had their Honey Wheat (I believe that's the name). Both tasted so fresh and good. After 3 days, their breads will start to taste stale because they are made without preservatives. Next time, I'll ask if I can get a smaller loaf of bread instead of such a large loaf because I can't finish a whole loaf by the 3rd day. They also sell muffins, cinnamon rolls, honey, etc. I haven't bought any of those but I've had their pepperoni roll before which was just fine and slightly expensive. I wish they sold croissants. Come here for the bread and stay for the friendly customer service. I'll definitely be back. The cost of all their breads are reasonable. TIP -- They offer a customer loyalty punch card. After you've bought 12 loaves, you get the 13th for free. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 41/150 total reviews in 2024 - 691 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 2 June 2024

My Mom loved their freshed baked Vienna white bread, as she would buy a loaf once or twice a week. She would also buy a dozen donuts, especially when compa y came over. I used to ride my bicycle up close to their store front window and they had a real pretty lady working their named Pauline. If i saw her there i used to wink at her, as i road by the window. (I was only 9 or 1o at the time). Every now and then she would wave me in and give me a free donut. So i have very fond memories of growing up with Becker's Donut shop right around the corner on Miles Ave, near East 138st. My favorite donuts were the cream filled ones. Yummy!

A dozen is about $18 which isn't bad at all. The chocolate glazed yeast was also unremarkable. Not dry or stale or off flavored but just kinda there and not any kind of fluffy lightness you'd write home about. The crullers here are unique! Very rugated, soft, fall apart in your hand and quite tasty. Best in the Cleveland area and I'm not even a big cruller fan. The plain glazed cake had a great texture. Moist inside, some crispiness outside. But it had an offish kinda almost remotely lemony flavor I am not a fan of.

We ordered the Napoleon, Amaretto Square, the Gerbaud, and Apple Linzer. The Napoleon was a 10 out of 10. We are one in the car and went back for more. The texture was great. Flaky, creamy, delicious. The Amaretto Square. Was good as well. Not too sweet, beautifully made. The Amaretto flavor wasn't as good as some others I've had. Maybe it's the type of flavoring/Amaretto used. The Gerbaud was definitely a crunchier dessert. Again made beautifully and has great flavor. The Apple Linzer. Another hit. The filling and Crust were perfect. Wouldn't change a thing. Service was great. Obviously this place has been around for a very long time. They know what they are doing. Only thing I would say is that it needs a facelift. Maybe not for locals but coming from out of town the look doesn't make you want to come in. Nor does the way the pastries are show cased. It just all feels run down. Not a place I would ever visit or offer good from ordinarily if I hadn't read such great reviews before going. We all eat with our eyes first.
