This was my first Brazilian wax. I left unsatisfied with blood blisters, bruising, and hair still left pretty much everywhere just shorter. The lady kept saying it was "bc I shaved" (mind you I haven't shaved in a month and I only use trimmers, not a razor. Not to mention it was not a welcoming environment, and there was little to no instruction on the process prior. She just immediately jumped straight to waving with no forewarning. I opted for the sugar which was supposed to be "smoother and less painful", so I paid more for nothing. she also used the same clump of wax the entire time. (not sure if that is standard or not). she never held the skin taught so it felt like I was going to be lifted off the table by my V with each rip of wax. once finished, she opened the door and walked out while I still was undressed and uncovered. After dressing, she met me at the counter and made me and the receptionist schedule a follow up appointment right then. very pressing and pushy. felt obligated to leave a tip as well. overall, poor experience and would NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Please save yourself the trauma and go somewhere else. I went in for a waxing appointment and got an older lady with short brown hair who was rough and unwelcoming. I have friends who go here but they recommend the other waxing lady, the young blonde one. By the end of my appointment I was bleeding and very raw. Go at your own risk. read more

Really unprofessional ! Went total of 3 times for Brazilian and no matter who I prebooked with I never got the next time. Which is fine but I like seeing one person for Brazilians preferably. They never offered sugaring even though it's more effective. Never recommended any products for at home use in between waxes. After the last time I went and all I listened to was ALL the girls talk smack about the owner I decided to go to another location where I love much better. Avoid this location! read more

I have been waxing my underarms for years and was a little hesitant to try a new business. So glad I did! Not only is Relax & Wax more affordable than my previous salon but the quality of service is far better as well. I am always treated like a lifetime friend and greeted with "Hiya Sweetie." This is a great place. Renata and her partner are bonafide experts on all things waxing and make the experience completely comfortable. They're purists from Brazil and use hard wax, which is more effective and less painful. Not my favorite wax experience! I got my first wax done in Cumming at this place called Brazilian Wax by Andreia and it was an amazing experience! She talked me through everything and made it as painless as possible. Although, I moved to Gainseville, GA and I could only do a bikini wax it was bad. She didn't apply pressure and it was very painful. Definitely will try something else next time. read more

Worst experience of my life. I will never go back to this location. I had a lady by the name of Destiny and the only reason I knew her name is because the girl who made my appt let me know who my appt was with. She never introduced herself to me.qhen she called me back. I told her I was nervous since this was my 1st time ever having this done. She didn't seem to care. She never took the time to explain to me the process she just simply said "take shorts off and lay down". She walked out to warm wax up and came back and started ripping at my skin. Never have I felt so much pain in my life. She had no compassion as a matter of fact she seemed irritated with me since I kept moving around from the pain. My appointment was schedule for today and I arrived 10 mins early for my appointment to find out they're close? When I booked my appointment last week I asked the receptionist if I could book it for that Sunday but for some reason they were close that specific Sunday. So I asked her if I can do it another Sunday and she told me yes. I never got a reschedule notice or a call letting me know that they will be closed. read more

This place sucks, the incompetent receptionists can not make appointments, nor can this place keep the appointment - they are completely unorganized, unprofessional, and look lost at a job they do everyday. My best advice is drive to another location and get better happier service. read more

I have been going to Relax and Wax on and off since late 2014. Once monthly for a Brazilian wax since July of 2016. I have loved the place and raved about it to friends and family. On my very first visit there I got a rewards card and on your 10th visit you got a free visit. This card had no expiration date or use by date on it. Today I was so excited that I finally got to my free visit. I got my sugaring done and when it was time to go pay I was told that I could NOT use this card because they expired last year. If it was an old card why wasn't I told about it? If it was an old card why were they still stamping it? They saw which card it was and continued stamping it for the PAST SIX MONTHS that I've been going in there getting a Brazilian wax. I am beyond furious. I was offered $20 off, which I took, but I will never be back to this place again. read more

I came here to get my eyebrows and upper lip waxed and I will definitely not be returning... When the lady did my upper lip she put so much wax on my upper lip and got all over my lips and nose. For my eyebrows when she got done with it she just rubbed baby oil on it and did not give me a mirror to look at them before I walked out. I didn't even think to ask for a mirror to see them before I walked out. I paid and drove off. Once I looked on my eyebrows I literally cried... They were a complete mess, by that time it was raining hard and could barely see the road to even go back and ask for my money back. I have gone to get a Brazilian and had no issues with that. I would recommend the Brazilians but do not go there to get your eyebrows waxed.... read more

They were nice but I definitely got the sense it was artificial. The place did seem very clean and the girl who waxed me even wore gloves. I did love trying out the hard wax, but as always I was left with straggling hairs which is extremely frustrating. The girl who waxed me seemed educated but not to the extent that you would expect from a professional who works at a place that focuses solely on waxing. I spent $40 and they wouldn't even accept the coupon Yelp offered, the manager saying it wasn't for their location (but it was.) I won't return, overall not worth it. Probably would've given them at least a second shot if they accepted my coupon. read more

Worst experience ever. Took my college age daughter and the practitioner totally shamed her for tearing up and told her not to come back. She literally only waxed half. The actual waxing experience was good just like any other place but when it came time to pay she charged me $20 extra bc she waxed my hands. Every other time and every other place includes the hands when you pay for the FULL ARM... But I guess I just dont get how the full arms cost 20 but they charged me an additional $20 for the 3 inch area for a hand I didnt get it but Im not going to argue with them about that I paid and never went back. read more

I honestly love this place. I moved to Gainesville from Chicago and I was worried I wasn't going to find a decent waxing place. Relax & Wax is such a great place. Clean, great customer service, and they make my experience there extremely comfortable every time. I go to Sue for a wax and she is so knowledgeable about what she does. She takes her time and makes sure you are getting your money's worth (not to mention what a sweetheart she is). They are so lenient with appointments and everyone who works there is so friendly! Went for the first time on 1/24/16. Walked in and the place smelled musty. The person who performed the service did not give me her name, she stayed in the room while I was getting undressed. Had a Brazilian. Sign on the door said first time customers are $25.00. She told me she would wax my stomach for me and then charged me $45.00. All other wax places include the stomach area in their $35.00 price. She should have told me it was going to be extra before she performed the service. I will not go back, as I felt taken advantage of and the place really smelled bad. read more

This was my first time doing something like this. I'll have to admit I have no experience with stuff like this. However, I can say I don't like how they manage time here. I called asking if I needed an appointment and the lady I talked to set one up for me. I got there and there was no one else there in the waiting area. So I sat and waited, and waited. I waited for over 45 minutes. Now, I understand that you get busy and some people ask for more than they originally did in the middle of the services and so it takes longer than expected, but I was under the impression of when I got there, I would wait maybe a few minutes but then I would be seen. When it was finally my turn, she did what I felt like was a great job walking me through my first wax. The only thing I'm not really sure I liked is that she started waxing other areas (like my eyebrows) when that is not the service that I asked for. So what would have been a $35 visit turned into a $68 visit. If I would have just gotten a full body it would have been only a few dollars more! In summary, the lady who helped me was relatively fast and efficient when it was finally my turn, and she did a really good job. read more
